Although I do agree EoSD is overrated, but to not have a metroidvania in a fuck huge castle would be to good to pass up. Though I remember an user saying that SA would make a good setting for one with it's nice cave aesthetic going deeper and deeper would be pretty neat.

The extra stage isn't out yet as they're working on that with a couple of other things in the next update but there is a glowing gate in stage 1 with the words "coming soon" where you get the knives.
The trashcans don't really do anything as far as I know other than being a "collectible"

That's my issue with it, devs said in a update long ago that people complained stage 1 was too easy, so they made 2 and 3 harder. The problem is Touhou-fags are fucking autists that are happy replaying the same stage over and over again until the find the little spot on the screen where they won't get hit by a rain of bullets and ain't nobody but those fucks got time for this shit. On the other hand this was made by the guys that did Pharaoh Rebirth and SMT Synchronicity and even that Konosuba metroidvania too I think, so it should be some good shit. I just don't want to spend money without knowing what I'm getting into is all.

Only things that disappointed me about the game is how short it is, and that it's more stage based than having open map you could stumble around on. Pretty similar to Pharaoh Rebirth in that regard.
They totally could've made the game bigger, Sakuya controls really well and time control gimmick is fun to play with.

Fuck it. I tried it out. It seems alright on a surface level. The mechanics are a bit wonky, though. Like, your direction attacks are straight up and... diagonally downwards? What's up with that? And why have the graze mechanic when you have ranged attacks? Something like that works better for melee-centric MVs. Everything else seems pretty vanilla for a Metroidvania.
The only time I ever died was on the last stage, and its manageable if you take a slight bit of care

Hell, I'd say that almost all of the games are easily playable on laptop, including the fighting games(as long as you can plug in a controller). Despite being the technology nation, Japan has pretty weak computers, and ZUN made games for underpowered tech for ages.

That's stupid, though. You shouldn't have in a game about attack spamming and twitchy movements. Stamina management is for more reserved dodge-and-spank type of games. Having to perform a balancing act between stamina and spamming while bullets are flying everywhere is cumbersome.
