Dante only has missions 10, 11 and 12. Mission 13 can be played with all three protags and missions 14, 15 and 16 are variations of the same mission for each character (all three missions have the same name something like "division point: nero, division point: v, division point: dante). Then missions 17 and 18 are urizen bossfight and missions 19 and 20 are vergil

You’re severely underestimating the capacity of people to write meaningful stories to have Dante as a main character. The problem with 2 and 4 is that the reasoning for Dante to be in those places was poor.

Look at the plot of 5, it’s literally just a demon tree and a poor excuse to bring Vergil back. This story could play out without Nero or simply without Nero as a main character. He could be Dante’s Robin, but instead they want to make him Batman AGAIN.

Nero says the human world is getting dragged into the demon world and they have to do something about it, Dante says Nero won so Vergil better do as he says, Vergil goes on about how he can still fight but he'll do it so they don't interfere with their business. They have to go into the demon world itself and shut it from the inside with Yamato and want him to stay behind, Nero says they'll be trapped and they can't leave while Dante tells him they can since he can hold things down on the other side. He tries to run after them, they slap his shit and go. Vergil says he intends to win next fight, tosses him V's book and says to hold onto it for him till he returns.

Nero was already a mistake since he was added in 4. I don't understand why Vergil would just randomly shag a woman when clearly in 3 all he wants is power. That's bad writing to be honest.

At the end of DMC3, Mundus defeated Vergil. However, Vergil split himself into two. One half would go on to become Nelo Angelo, the other became V. After Mundus was sealed, Nelo Angelo sought out more power. Taking Nero's hand, he became Urizen. V meanwhile sought out a way to restore himself by defeating Urizen. He sought to use Nero and Dante for that. In the end, Vergil is reborn whole once again. It was all his keikaku to survive Mundus and to gain power.

All I wanted was to see them together and I got it. Can't fucking wait to play it. No amount of shitposting is going to convince me otherwise.

I'm in a roadtrip of sorts so I haven't been able to read all the leaks or watch the final battle, but I've seen the pictures and there's something bothering me.

Leaving aside that vergil looks weird as fuck (I never really cared much about vergil but he looks weird in 5 and that's about it), does anybody else feel like vergil as a character has become trapped into his dmc3 incarnation? it was excusable in dmc4se because he was just a bonus character at the end of the day. But come 5, doesn't he seem to remain largely the same? same coat with no changes bare the actualization to modern graphic standards, seemingly STILL the same DT form from 3 (I like the SMT DTs but I would like to see vergil wearing something new), same everything so far, but he also gets doppelganger now so that's something. Does he still use beowulf in his final battle in 5? if he's ever added as a DLC character, will he be yamato/beowulf/force edge yet again, because that's what he's associated with?

Nevan is pretty good coz it has a stinger that launches and some juggling utility with the projectiles, the main problem is that it's mad awkward to use and you should have been able to chain the moves together like that musical weapon in monster hunter

Dante fought a depowered projection of Mundus in DMC1 and won with a good margin. Vergil fought the actual Mundus while half dead and only barely lost. Don't try to make sense of the powerlevels, it's just rule of cool. Trish could probably solo Mundus with the right motivation.
