Is this part of that ARG?

more likely to be a sequel than a remaster, considering the concept art that seemed to show new locations

also reminder that Chris Avellone appears to be working on it, he said on twitter that there's big news dropping next month which is when the game is announced, on the 21st at some game conference
not getting my hopes up one bit though

forgot to mention, the reason it's not worth hyping is because it's the devs of Blacklight: Retribution making it, literally zero RPG experience and it's published by fucking Paradox, so expect all the Clans to be locked behind DLC

>remaster
>sequel
How about just another Vampire: The Masquerade game that's neither a remaster or a direct sequel?

Why did it have to be them buying White Wolf*

>Remaster of a game that didn't sell well and is already almost 15 years old
Yeah no.

>You know, the way Russia used Facebook’s demographic data to cause divides during 2016.

>how come you've not told me about this?
Because you'd know already if you were above 18.

it's sold millions of copies throughout the years, retard

Is this a fan remake or is there an actual studio behind this?

blacklight was a good game tho

I would love to ask the person who wrote that to explain exactly what it means

was it a good single-player RPG with deep choices and consequences, roleplaying, fantastic atmosphere, music and voice acting?

It means ORANGE MAN BAD

What are you on about

5$ steam sales don't make them nearly as much as a 50$ launch sale

Except when it does

Ha, dropped.

Posted the exact same thread yesterday for this kind of discussion and anons called me for shilling just because I happened to link a Youtuber who I saw discussing it: Yea Forums has no logic

Anyway, we'll probably know more around the 20th of March.

Just go back

I don't trust Paradox

>YOOOOOO
please don't act like a nigger on my board

IT'S NOT GOING TO BE A SEQUEL, YOU FUCKING RETARD.

This is probably true unfortunately, no way are they going to miss out on the remake craze and risk loosing money by making a new game when the old one was successful enough even when it was broken.

More like it's more effective to take something you already like and disfigure it into agitprop than asking you to try something new

See: ghostbusters, star wars, star trek, countless vidya franchises &c.

just kys

>vtmb 2019
>trans vampires resisting drumpf
No thanks.

>remaster
>sexuality gets toned down
>some lines are redone to appeal to modern views, possibly requiring recasting
>current pc shit shoved in
>geometry changes, texture changes or ruins atmosphere with filters.
>remixed ost
I'd prefer they just try a sequel than risk the chance of them butchering the original.
Unless the remaster is just a patch that let's you run the same old game without problems.

Guys, I started playing this game and I got to the second hub, but I dont get it's appeal. Should I keep going?

>She explains the Beckoning and the Withering that take place after the events of the game and how low gen vamps are moving to the East
>She tells that because of all that, Thinbloods aren't in that bad position in general by now since there is also a fair chance of them becoming humans again and it could be said that they are envied because etc etc...They have also no problem breaking teh Masquerade it seems since they have called the LAPD and revealed themselves as vamps.
>Second Inquisition is now a big problem and Pope Francis is organising armies in secret. Vamps are beginning to get worried a lot.
>LaCroix is ashes but there are still some mainly Ventrue loyalists to him and Camarilla. It is also revealed that Jeanette banked him as she fucked him (as she did with many others)
>There is another Prince that came after him named Tara. She came from San Diego but was ashed as well. She was the last Camarilla Prince in LA
>LA is now again an Anarch Free State
>Jack sailed for the mythical country of the pirates somewhere in East Africa. He became a prophet of Gehenna and eventually found a descendant of Eve, named Gemma Cross, who she will play an important role in the apocalypse and he had to protect her. He gets ashed in the back by a former Nosferatu associate of Beckett.
>Beckett became a subject of the Withering as well while travelling the world looking for things of interest like Baba Yaga, Dracula etc. Caine eventually accompanied him. Beckett must have eventually succumbed to the Withering. So he must be ashes as well. Caine couldn't help him retain his powers.
>Caine himself is also subjected to the WIthering
>Tourette are doing fine. The Asylum night clubs have expanded to other places as well as Europe. They now actually love each other, although they pretend they hate each other for the public eye like before.

Just give up, you're clearly too dumb to appreciate it for what it is.

>Jeanette keep an eye on present culture, like music etc. She even plays video games.
>Nines is fine. His actual names is Armando. He still refuses to take the title of the leader of Anarchs. He's still in LA.
>Isaac is still the Baron of Hollywood
>Strauss is now a Keeper of Elysium
>Tremere are no more as we knew them but have split up after their HQ in Vienna became caput etc etc. We know what happened.
>VV is fine and was last seen in 2017 in a party with pornstar Stoya
Where does she get all this?

I'd play it.

They call you a shill because you linked some literal who youtuber that ultimately no one gives a shit about. Also, her voice is annoying.

Beckett's Jyhad Diary and V5, the newest edition of VTM pen & paper roleplaying game.

So they finally embraced the game? Pun not intended

Actually, hang on, some of that shit is no longer canon. Jack is alive, and the part with the last daughter of Eve doesn't factor into things, that was part of the Gehenna scenarios. Most of the shit she talked about isn't accurate at all.

>Smiling Jack is dead
Fug
>Jeannete/Tierrese are fine
Cool
>Nosferatu are becoming normal again
FUG

>Latest play book
>Already noncanon

What

No, I made a mistake when I made the first post, I only skimmed it, but when I started to read all of it, I saw that it's based on old, no longer considered canon, information from the old editions of VTM.

>Caine himself is also subjected to the WIthering
How can the father of vampires and a near godly figure be subjected himself to the Withering?

Absolutely NOT Santa Monica. The Santa Monica Pier faces out into the empty ocean. The clip they've shown off clearly shows a city skyline in the background.

It's a different location.

But I'm black

never played this but im gonna

how much pre game lore research do i need? which mods if any?

What does the eaafa46a-4506-46a2-80d6-e85edc82a6a5 refer to?

no lore research. wesp5's mod aka the unofficial patch, fixes most bugs and problems with the original build, but don't choose the "plus" version though cause it adds a lot of questionable quality content

Everything pertinent to the game is either lore dumped in loading screens or drip fed to you by the characters.
Your character is dropped into unlife accidentally, so it's accurate in-game to know nothing.

unlikely to be a remaster when Activision own the rights to the game

It's designed for newcomers.

You only need the Unofficial Patch, which comes preinstalled in the GOG version (but not the Steam version). The Unofficial Patch will give you the option of installing something called the "Plus Patch", which is a restoration patch intended to make the game closer to the version that the devs intended. However, the Plus Patch also adds some random new/original/unnecessary stuff, so you might not want to use it on your first playthrough (I personally think it's fucking great and arguably better than the vanilla game, but like I said it might not be ideal for a first playthrough).

Other than that, no mods are required. My favorite flat-out-actual-mod is the Arsenal Mod, which replaces all the weapons in the game (with arguably better ones [overall]). But I would strongly advise against using that for a first playthrough. Even using it on subsequent playthroughs is 100% up to you and maybe not everybody will like it as much.

The only other things you really need to know about the game are these:

1. DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR COMBAT STATS OR YOU WILL BE ROYALLY FUCKED IN THE LATER PARTS OF THE GAME. It's fun to go through with a social build and talk your way out of problems, but this becomes non-viable later on.

2. Pick either melee or firearms to specialize in and stick with it. Dividing points between both is possible, but it will force you to neglect other stats, which is just no fun unless you simply want to be a killing machine and don't care about other skills. You can also pick Unarmed, but this is underpowered unless you use specific character types that have skills that can make it useful.

3. You have the option of looking up the passwords on GameFAQs, which has a password FAQ for the game with a complete list of all passwords for all computers. This will save you from dumping points into Hacking. Or you can look for the passwords in the game legit. Whatever.

cont.

I you finally can play as the best clan.
Fuck (((Tremere)))

Attached: azael_by_leaglem-d7kkk3e.png (1024x703, 749K)

4. Don't neglect your Disciplines (the game's equivalent of spell groups, which each class [or "clan" as they're referred to in-game] has 3 of). And learn how, when, and where to best exploit each Ability/Spell. They can be absolute lifesavers at times. Plus they're basically vampire superpowers, which is just fun.

5. Experience points are gained ONLY through doing quests, so do lots of fucking side-quests if you want a decent build.

6. Side-quests can also get you money, which can be hard to come by in this game. Money is especially important if you do a Firearms build, because ammo is expensive as fuck.

7. There are consequences to your actions in this game, so don't be a fucking retard.

8. I personally recommend a Malkavian for a first playthrough, as a blind Malkavian run is THE most unique experience in all of RPGs. But this will also leave you confused as fuck, so, again, it's up to you.

9. Listen to the fucking radio. Trust me.

I wonder if we will have something close to this planet in the new game

Whatever you do DON'T USE MODS if you never played through the game before. Play vanilla. Vanilla means only the basic bug fix patch.

Yikes

>3. You have the option of looking up the passwords on GameFAQs, which has a password FAQ for the game with a complete list of all passwords for all computers. This will save you from dumping points into Hacking. Or you can look for the passwords in the game legit. Whatever.
I think it's much more immersive to use hacking skill where necessary and memorize the passwords in case you play the game again with a different builds. Looking up the passwords kills the immersion and there are plenty of ways to not use hacking in the game already.

The whole point of your character is that he doesnt know shit about supernatural things at the beginning, the less lore you know the better

its not a new game in the way you think but something like that phone vtm game that came out. Its tender ffs guys not a new vtmb game

>Smiling Jack is dead
what

it will be shit and you know it

This guy gets it. IT'S GOING TO BE A FUCKING PHONE GAME, NOT AN RPG, AND YOU'RE DELUSIONAL IF YOU THINK OTHERWISE.

Yea Forums is going to have nuclear fucking meltdowns when this is announced as a mobile phone game.

how good will be the villain(s)

Attached: 66-LAC00.jpg (640x580, 70K)

I fucking hate you people. None of you understand what's going on and its sad. The fucking tender thing was a real-life fetch quest. The last game they made was a "i le tranny bite the dicks off trump supporters"(not even a joke. its real" game. If you haven't learned by now what type of games they are making then its you're fault when the reveal comes because everyone warned you. The only thing i can tell you 100% is coming that is really a game and not a wall of text is werewolf.

the thing is, if it will be a real vtmb, that would be the biggest comming of jc in our modern video game times

Attached: 1531579456044.jpg (2880x1620, 2.26M)

Well the devs aren't mobile developers so I'm not seeing it. Not to say I trust them with making a VTM game but still.

Notice the mountain range in the background. That pretty much rules out LA, right? Those look too big to be the Hollywood Hills. Maybe the Seattle theory is right?

we still got the original then, nothing to worry about

Attached: 1551590005821.webm (426x426, 420K)

I would honestly be relieved

It DEFINITELY rules out Chicago or anywhere on the east coast.

Rules out the entire Midwest. The pier clip has to either be seattle or somewhere in califagia.

I don't see what you're trying to say.

Did he dieded?

While I want another VTM game very much, I'm also afraid it will either:
>Be a shallow and vapid shadow of original game, toned down everything, more controller-friendly action than any remaining content, no soul, shitty dialogues etc. Typical rot that affect all modern games.
And/or, since we are talking Paradox and White Wolf here:
>utterly soul-crushingly SJW, full of demented bullshit like tranny genderfluid vampires fighting muh ebil white homophobes and cis-normative opression.
Also I'm very much afraid that they will try to shoehorn it to the current year, which would ruin the comfy atmosphere too.

There is simply too much of stuff they can irreparably fuck up.
