>To say Itsuno holds Dragon's Dogma dear would be something of an understatement. It's the game he's proudest of from his time at Capcom, and you can even see flashes of it in Devil May Cry 5 - new character V, with his ranged attacks and devious use of magic, can feel like a straight lift of a sorcerer from the 2012 RPG. I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to imagine a Dragon's Dogma sequel sits somewhere in Itsuno's future.
>"I've mentioned this before, but when we started Devil May Cry 5, I'd gone to the people up top and said let me make either Devil May Cry 5 or Dragon's Dogma 2," he says. "I thought Devil May Cry 5 would be the better choice right now, so did that. If I could, I'd love to make Dragon's Dogma 2 - it'd be awesome."
Still think it's a bad idea that he makes DMC5 first but whatever. Also, bring back Rival schools too Itsuno.
It's a literal translation from a different language. Their "Wizard and "Mage" is literally "magic user". Try translating shit from German to English, and see how retarded that sound, and that's 2 languages with a lot of fucking borrowed parts from each other.
Colton Jones
I'd love a new Rival Schools game.
Liam Cox
They just need not to rush things this time, also get rid of the boring art style and go for the high fantasy like the cut concept art
I can't imagine that will run any better on the switch than it did on the PS3, and it ran like dogshit on the PS3. If you wanna play mystic knight in slow motion then go for it.
>2x Magic Cannon + sigil combo on Switch Would it even reach 2 FPS?
Ian Diaz
I think I would have preferred Dragon's Dogma 2 to DMC5. I'm looking forward to 5, but I came to terms with the franchise closing on 4 after peaking with 3. Dragon's Dogma was incredible all things considered, there's a vision in that game that needed the love and funds of a sequel.
Anthony Thompson
>and it ran like dogshit on the PS3. Hey, now. Only whenever anything fired off a sorceror spell, you used Magic Knight at all, you used Magick Archer at all, Grigori did anything, anything spawned in BBI, 2 living knights existed near each other, any big monster jumped forward, you fought a golem, you fought a griffin or a dragon/drake/wyrm did anything that wasn't a generic attack.
Dominic Wood
>Still think it's a bad idea that he makes DMC5 first but whatever. Nope. The amount of ruckus DMCV is generating is perfect at the moment, that should reflect on good sales and also on a sequel without having to wait 10 years. And they might let Itsuno make DD2 in between DMCs. DD2 needs to get better marketing, though.
> Also, bring back Rival schools too Itsuno. Didn't Darkstalkers get rekt recently in a re-release?
Capcom's biggest problem in fighting games is that they haven't fired Ono. Itsuno was a director and producer during Capcom's golden years of fighting games having worked on everything from Vampire Saviour and Rival Schools to SF3 and CvS2. He only stopped making fighting games once he got put on DMC2 to save it then ended up in action and rpg.
Andrew Stewart
LITERALLY soul vs soulless
Christian Ross
wasn't Ono responsible for SF4? you can't deny SF4's success, it succeeded so hard that it brought fighting games up a few notches in relevance and they haven't lowered since
not that guy but it was kinda horrible, the fighting mechanics themselves were enjoyable but everything around them kinda sucked
Wyatt Murphy
If Itsuno makes DD2 I hope it keeps it strictly single player like the first one
Well, some Monster Hunter type bosses where you actually team with other players would be nice, but I dont want my overworld full of screeching autists
Adam Sanders
SF4 had a bunch of people from the SF2 days at DIMPS work on it. Ono turned around and then produced SFV.
Also fighting games are actually in a really bad place now with only Tekken showing any sign of stability. Sponsors are pulling out everywhere, viewership is down across the board, and the games are getting worse with more focus being put on comeback mechanics, cinematics, and "story."
Lincoln Jones
Yep, Soul Calibur is dead, Dead on Arrival is just same shit as usual, Mortal Kombat would sell a ton to casuals and would be abandoned in a couple of months.
FighterZ lasted more than I expected tho
Christian Morris
>Still think it's a bad idea that he makes DMC5 first but whatever It's not. DMC5 doesn't need the hardware DD2 would need. DD2 would be more benefitted by next-gen systems than DMC5.
Kayden Powell
DARK SPAWN!
Xavier Diaz
Things DD2 needs: >no more stats tied to vocation because there's no point in playing anything other than sorcerer or assassin if you want the best stats in DD:DA >set amount of stat points that you can freely distribute upon level up >more vocations >more stuff like bitterblack isle >less focus on empty worlds with nothing to do in them >hire a capable writer so the story is utter shite again >improve pawn AI so they're not 20iq retards >more freedom in what weapons and armor each vocation can equip, makes no sense that a mage cant wear chainmail >more fast travel points >more things to do on the world map >actual cities and towns with people in them >make the world feel more alive in general instead of the dead world of DD:DA >nerf fire enchantment
Jacob Roberts
Nigga, don't just put Dragon's Dogma 2 on top, you got me excited for no reason.
Dylan Morris
buttery smooth
Caleb Allen
>Well, some Monster Hunter type bosses where you actually team with other players would be nice, but I dont want my overworld full of screeching autists So much this. At most make it like Dark Souls, where it's an opt in feature of the game.
Alexander Mitchell
It's gonna look like shit. The faces in DMC5 and RE2make are done with real models. You can't replicate that with sliders.
Robert Gutierrez
of course you can, are you retarded?
Adrian Diaz
>overworld full of screeching autists
Aside from the screeching, isn't that what Pawns are?
>He doesn't know that Dwarf and Elf WERE essentially classes in ye olde days
Isaac Rogers
>from the 2012 RPG Fucking hell
Jayden Fisher
>wanting DD2 from modern Capcom No, thanks.
Owen Ramirez
So basically Dragon's Dogma Online? It has 90% of what you said.
Wyatt Rivera
>I'd love to make Dragon's Dogma 2 - it'd be awesome. So that means DD2 is not currently in development and its not even planned to be developed? Just kill me now
Asher Murphy
The way the interview goes suggests otherwise He's not saying anything outright, but his body language and the way he talked about it suggest work's already begun on it
Oliver King
>What the FUCK did they do to him He got old
Jordan Long
Honestly taking the DDO mechanic/class upgrades and fixing it up for a single player RPG would be fantastic.
Jose Hill
It's happening bros, my dick is getting hard. 7+ years of waiting but it will all be worth it in the end.
