i know, and i agree. however, i dislike watcing these videos for the same reason i dislike watching speedrunners. it's like the person recording the video has distilled all the 'fun' out of the game by boiling it down to a series of inputs. rather than pretending they're part of the game world for a while. turning escapism into a job.

Not really, nations and nations forever used to be free with good graphics, could run on any computer and you could play with others on private or public servers.It was the ultimate poorfags racing game.

i suppose they had to have runs in which they failed or bumped into things or made mistakes, but the only thing shown is the final result of "perfection" or whatever.

i disagree. they look stylish, i can't argue with that, but i'm just not engaging with what's being shown. it 'feels' to me as though the person recording the video has memorised the track and the route to take, and the means to navigate that route - as there's no indicators of where to go - so all the rough edges have been filed off. there's no, i don't know quite how to put it, achievement in what i'm seeing.

Trackmania 2, Canyon environment. the game consists of four environemnts, but due to the retarded way it was developed, you need to buy those seperately.
you can play some of it for free, though I don't know how exactly that works. feel free to make a maniaplanet account, download the client and find out.
