How in the hell can anyone say this? MGS2 was disliked by most of the fanbase when it first came out and it's never really changed from that. People wanted one game and got another, but I loved it for doing the things it did.

Literally all of those are objectively good games.

I think if we are going specifically for games people "pretend to like" that would likely be chief among them. Not in the it's a bad game people are pretending is good sense but in the proportion of those who claim to love it having never actually played it sense.

You often see PS:T in 3x3s or is people's lists of their favorite games but when make threads about it. I often find the discussion completely lacking. Literally no one else is on the same page, no one knows the characters or the plot, or can even speak to the gameplay itself, they seemingly assume it's just BG or BGII. They'll know about the question what can change the nature of man, and they can spout one of a handful of youtuber's interpretations but rarely can they say anything original.

It's the ultimate game nearly no one has actually played while simultaneously claiming is good or a favorite. If you see someone who claims to love this game and they're not the type that also frequents RPG Codex they're probably full of shit.

Anomaly is the same shit as Misery, I don't find them hard, it's just slow, and a lot of people can't handle the fact that it might take hours to get good gear, and they can't just infinitely sprint spamming medkits and looting exoskeletons 5 minutes in.

Planescape put me to sleep, I spent like an hour running around that first dungeon completely board out of my mind, hoping that it'd pick up once I got out of started talking with NPCs, but that first town was even more boring.

I was just going to say arena shooters in general. There's about 50 threads a day about WHY ARE THEY DEAD BROS FUCKING CASUALS RUIN EVERYTHING and no threads about any actual new arena shooters that come out or even talking about older ones.

While there are definitely heaps of secondaries for eye, it is actually an amazingly fun game. Upgrade your legs so they're okay and get used sprinting crouch jumps plus get sick some sick psi powers and you just run damocles and go full anime, it's amazing. It's like an mmo in that you have to grind up to the good stuff though.

I perceive a majority of people who dislike Mgs2 as being faggots who thought Snake had to be the main playable character for it to be good, and refuse to look past it to realize that the narrative is alot more interesting having him being a supporting character with a vague motive. And Raiden's whole mindfuck arc is very reliant on him having been raised as a child soldier by Solidus, and that chemistry wouldn't have existed if it was Snake instead of Raiden. And Raiden's character arc is very good in that game in my opinion because of the great societal commentary that it makes (a lot more interesting than the nuker r bad commentary of Mgs1 and a lot of the rest of the series).

That’s arena shooters and RTS fags in general. I always laugh when some “boomer” goes on about the glory days of UT and Quake but actually ask them to play a couple of 1v1s and you’ll get nothing but crickets, same goes for Starcraft with how many fags love to jerk off Broodwar despite being complete fucking ass at it or never playing at all.

RDR1 doesn't require that, I've never been that big into wild west stuff and RDR is one of my favorite games. RDR2 is a big steaming pile of shit on the other hand, they tried to make it into some boring slog of a realism simulator, while the previous game was clearly made for maximizing the players fun.

P3 is probably my least liked MegaTen, that or DDS2, but I can still see why people like it. It has a lot of interesting and novel ideas in how it's structured me though I would say those ideas are poorly executed, just the novelty of them can do a lot to carry the game. I think people really overrate the writing, but there is still at least one consistently engaging part of it with Junpei and the ending is very memorable, as is the whole atmosphere of the game's end sequence. I still don't think it's great, but I believe people when they say they love it and the only thing about it I feel they really overstate the quality of is the writing.

That said, FFX plot isn't really great. It's part JRPG tropes (sacrificing yourself to save the world, organized religion evil, etc ...), part poorly introduced bullshit. The novel part of the game is good aesthetics wise, but the story isn't really what makes X a good game. It's probably the weakest story of a FF post VII, except maybe VIII which has some unnecessary bullshit.

The same could be said of a lot of fighting games, even among the few who actually do play Xrd you have people going on about how it's no Accent Core when they clearly haven't played that either. You see that kind of thing with games like Third Strike and VSAV as well though. It's a shame too because Guilty Gear is great, but most who praise it will have only played it for a week, if that.

It's near unpalyably buggy. It's every bad element about Bethesda games in general ramped up to 11 (and then Fallout 76 apparently ramps it up to 15). It's hideously ugly.
