What does that even mean? This game was released in the heyday of side scrolling platformers, hardly before its time.
The game design and polish feel very modern. It feels right at home with contemporary platformers. It had varied setpieces, dynamic terrain, animation, and great technology.
I'd say this game fits the bill. The difficulty level is a little on the easy side, but the level design and physics were amazing. The game stands the test of time. Also, the add-on was basically a very early version of DLC.

Def worth a watch
Right... because it was one of the last SNES games
This game was ahead of its time
thanks
To be fair
Late 2d games > early 3d
In terms of graphics anyways
do you not know what "one of the last" means
it doesn't mean "the last"
I know. You just got me curious. I wasn't making an argument. It's just now I have a new gag gift idea.
But what is pokemon my ass?
Shit's still ahead of THE time, sadly
Amazing concept but it was clear the hardware could never accommodate it
Thoughts?
Best Space Harrier port.
I'd say maybe "ahead of its time" in the sense that it focused on aesthetics and graphics.
but it wasn't as fun or approachable as pic-related.
Look at all the crap that has happened since then:
>babyish mediocre short-as-fuck entry on 64
>Passed off to literal shovelware tier devs made of former Sega imbeciles and made Topsy Turvy and YIDS
>Company is so shit they dissolve and make a new company that's even shittier, makes fucking Yoshi's New Island, the ugliest, most soulless rehashed piece of crap ever
>Good-Feel makes an OK platformer with half the OST being baby music and now makes a dumbed sequel on Switch
Remember Miyamoto's comments about how he made YI because he thought Yoshi deserved better after the glut of lame spin-offs? Why does Nintendo treat this IP so fucking horrendously? Is it because they know they will never capture that magic again? YI feels like lightning in a bottle.
