>super boring setting compared to medieval and georgian/victorian dark fantasies
>no multiplayer
Why the fuck are they wasting time doing this garbage instead of a new Souls game?
Super boring setting compared to medieval and georgian/victorian dark fantasies
nigger the medieval settings are the dull ones
lol and fuck multiplayer that's what fucked the balance of souls games in the first place
>le japanese castles and demons
Boooring
>/pol/ told me weebs are degenerate. Where is my based white setting?
>no online means no one can carry me :(
Fuck off kid
>le european castles and demons
Nobody gives a fuck about your personal preferences
>developers should make the same game forever because I'm a faggot who can't accept change and need other people to ERP with
I can understand thinking feudal Japan is boring, but pretending like medieval Europe, one of the most overdone and generic settings in video game history isn't, just makes you look biased as fuck. They're both insanely overdone settings, and going back to generic castles and knights shit would have been a spit in the face after Bloodborne's god tier setting. Let me guess OP, you'd be celebrating right now if they had made Dark Souls 4, and it was just more of the same?
I prefer the vintage Japanese setting.
>/pol/
I wish you cancers get ip banned for trying to derail threads like this, it's disgusting. You're a piece of turd.
It's not personal, it's objectively boring, sales will tell that.
It's over done for a reason, because it's fucking amazing.
>Let me guess OP, you'd be celebrating right now if they had made Dark Souls 4, and it was just more of the same?
Yes.
>no online
I keep forgetting this.
Man, this game is going to kick ass.
Reminder that snoyfags would be goldface posting every fucking day if this was exclusive.
>more sales = better
Your taste is objectively shit
Japanese castles and demons can be cool as hell.
Problem is that you don't get that, you get fishing villages and bandit caves instead. I hope Sekiro doesn't fall on this trap the way Nioh did.
Because filling games with knights and skeletons was so amazingly interesting.
you aren't wrong
They have a better game, it's called Ghost of Hiroshima
Seriously, why go to that setting when Nioh did it decently already?
>tfw no soulslike with an ancient mayan setting
>objectively boring
Seriously, why make Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3, when Demon's Souls did it decently already?
Nioh was fucking boring
>not liking both
Cause the game is about a ninja/samurai dude
Jesus
>mayansouls
stop posting this in every souls thread. its a shit idea
Nioh was good but the enemy variety was balls.
Where should the next Souls game take place?
>no high middle ages
>no victorian england
>no japan
The one with bamham combat ?
I thought it was gonna be shit, but then I realized that they finally got rid of/changed everything that made Dark Souls a shitty game
>added a story
>removed the multiplayer that was garbage due to invasions/shitty net code anyway
>PC isn't a mute vegetable anymore and can also climb platforms that are above heel level
>removed levels and made it an actual action game instead of a fake rpg
the graphics tho
Bloodborne sequel is heavily hinted to have an Aztec theme
Sumeria.
Pretty much anything involving a polytheistic religion could be neato
>tfw no Souls game that takes place in a mid-2000s high school
fuck.
Nordic
Also it has stealth. STEALTH.
>no multiplayer
But that's a good thing? MP in Souls is meme anyway plus sometimes shit was getting nerfed only because of imbalance in MP so they made it unfun in SP as well.
Classical Greece setting. Medusa, Minotaur bosses, etc.
Modern day America.
Everything is viable on SP if ur not a scrub.
This is a really silly argument and I know you're not posting it genuinely, user. You've seen someone say that somewhere else (as it's a very common thing to 'discredit' the game before it's even out and one of a few recurring statements used), and wanted to make a bait post like this on Yea Forums, but have you actually put thought into that statement? It's alright to prefer the European-based fantasy and aesthetics of the souls series, but saying Japanese mythological-oriented settings are 'super boring and bland' when compared to the absolutely holy grail of generic settings (European fantasy) is ludicrous.
Granted I have my different preferences, and i'm alright with both, but how is 'I don't like the setting' legitimate criticism against a game when that in itself is a wholly subjective outlook?
>no multiplayer
I automatically disregard any post that bitches about this. If you actually think multiplayer in Souls games is worth caring about you need to kill yourself
Ancient Greece would be cool. The problem would be the inevitably comparisions to God of War.
Multiplayer in general is just a shitty excuse to make subpar games.
>>super boring setting compared to medieval and georgian/victorian dark fantasies
>>no multiplayer
>Why the fuck are they wasting time doing this garbage instead of a new Armoured Core game?
fix'd that for you
Yes, playing RTS for the single player campaigns is so much better than the multiplayer.
It's funny that people are bitching about this recent wave of samurai action games too considering that we basically didn't get any notable ones right through the 7th gen due to the Genji sequel and Onimusha DoD both flopping.
I said "in general" not "all the time"
So here's this giant enemy crab...
RTS is a shitty genre for autists though (unless it's city building, then it doesn't mp anyway)
Yeah but really, I think they both were kind of released early in the 7th gen console cycle so they were probably ported over mid-development from the 6th generation, which for many games did not work well at all. Out of Sony's initial lineup announced at E3 2006, I feel like the only one which didn't suck hard and wasn't delayed for a long time was Resistance.
I'd go with a Wonderland/Shivering Isles setting. A world of madness, chaos, and despair. This would essentially be a more fantastical version of bloodborne.
City Building/Tycoon is the comfiest genre for PC.
Yeah, we know for a fact that Genji 2 was absolutely a PS2 game that was rushed on to the PS3 because Sony wanted an action game at launch but DMC4 wasn't coming out for a couple years and Heavenly Sword wasn't quite ready yet. Plus it was largely developed by the B-team because Okamoto and the rest of the heavy hitters were working on Folklore.
About a week after they closed in 2011, an ex-Game Republic employee went on NeoFAG and brought to light a lot of interesting things about how poorly the company was run, particularly in their latter years.
you're basing your arguments on complete subjectivity. Some people are excited for the fresh setting, as opposed to medieval plate armor and straight swords
Being good games with solid campaigns was what made every classic RTS game have a multiplayer scene in the first place, you idiot.
>This game was pretty fun to play through, I want more I should go see if any people are playing it online so I can keep having fun.
t. probably a zoomer who's into BR
RTS has a huge skill ceiling. Also, they're very fun and comfy with friends.
>hurr y not anudder sous game
because it's all they've been making for the past ten years, god forbid they do something different
Aztec or Arab themed
Except AoE and Starcraft had bad campaigns.
WW2 Italy
I see what you're saying m8
user, you post this shit almost every day and week, it's becoming tiresome.
two different developers, it was probably one of their ideas from the jump anyway.
All Software games are over rated. The dark souls trilogy was somewhat fun but repetitive gameplay, depressing and often lore that is just there cause it has to be. They were good but not "THAT" good. Bloodborn was fun but also over raited, combat was better than Dark Souls and setting was great and very immersive and the lore was better to be honest but still it got repetitive and just felt like a game you "play" not that you truly want to experience such as Morrowind, Witcher 3, Assassins creed 2 ect.
This or Occult WW2 Germany
That's pretty neat, just reading through it now. Shame that it had to kill the Japanese fantasy medieval setting for so long. I forgot but there was also Tenchu Z and Kengo Legend of 9 that came out for the 360 with this theme but they also did poorly as well. They should've at least tried again at the beginning of the 8th generation and we're now near the end of it...
>asian setting
*YAAAAAAAAAAAAWN*
cyberpunk future
what a way to kill hype for a sequel
This is Tenchu.
Can this be Tenchu?
miyazaki:
>oh cool now let me show you what a real samurai souls game would be like
>tfw have completely ignored all media about this game because I'm very excited and want everything to be a 100% surprise
Del Torro as co-producer for Pasta Souls
>says souls is repetitive
>witcher 3 as a counter point.
Kek.
Nioh's setting was boring as hell because it was too realistic.
Sekiro's world is better and interesting to look at because it looks more fantastical.
Good man. If anything Yea Forums hating on it makes me even more eager to see what its like
normies get out REEEEEEEEEE
>Seriously, why go to that setting when Nioh did it decently already?
>Implying having different choices is a bad thing
as an avid souls fan ill go ahead and tell you the animations don't seem up to par, but hopefully it'll be suprisingly great anyway
>balance
>souls games
I think you missed the point.
>follower of the "omg so hard" trend calling a Morrowindfag a normie
Why are medieval autists the worst? You fags throw a fit when Total War uses another setting every time.
I'd fuck real nasty with either an Egyptian or Native American theme.
>game goes away from medieval times
>series immediately turns into shit, and the game has no variety of units anymore
I told you so faggots
oh yeah, Egypt would be really great alright, so much level variety:
>desert
>on top of the pyramids
>inside the pyramids
Wow
>super boring setting compared to medieval and georgian/victorian dark fantasies
なんだと!?てめぇ!!
なんだと!?てめぇ!!
Also, I've lived long enough to see kids who grew up with mutliplayer in everything cry when a game doesn't have a multiplayer element. Feels kinda bad.
Well, you can suck my 4inch pp if you don't like it.
>river valley
>a dimension for the dead
>some shit in the sky like WoW egypt land
Use your imagination fag.
I understand the bad fighting gameplay of the Witcher 3 but it makes up for it with setting, story, characters, character/plot archs ect. Not to say Souls/Bloodborn have bad combat but it is repetitive and with that alone the rest of the game doesn't make up for it, perhaps the setting/atmosphere does a bit but still not to a necessary extent but I am getting into subjective territory.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE GET OUTA MOY SIGHT M8. Besides what do you play then?
G..gaysouls ahahahahahaahah pic related
you are a faggot, kill yourself please
The level design in Nioh was bland as fuck
surprised xbox fans arent desu
But you see PS4 (being the superior console) gets both games. I am looking forward to Ghost but am unsure since "that" game studio is making it.
>UH, JAPANESE MEDIEVAL SETTING IS BORING COMPARED TO EUROPEAN MEDIEVAL/INDUSTRIAL SETTING
Fucking rekt
Something based on Irish/Scottish mythology. Some of its elements are very familiar because they have been used on every kind of fantasy settings, but a Celtic setting to the core would be pretty cool. Also, it is clear Miyazaki has an interest in it. The mythological poems of William Sharp were an inspiration for Deráciné and he isn't very well known even to people that are interested in the subject.
Your idea is fucking garbage and mayans were subhumans. Fuck that shit. An Alexandrian/Egyptian setting would be better. From would actually be accurate and not make it all about Kangz and the mythology is there to make something amazing of it.
For the last motherfucking time, to the spiclovers that always say the same shit, a setting with subhuman Aztecs or Native Americans is garbage. They should do a game about a founding civilization in a Mesopotamian setting. Imagine a game about past advanced civilizations like Loran with no pandering to the We Wuz crowd.
Encountering the Fae would be pretty tight
Your post reeks of chimp stink
Not gonna play this. Saving all Nip medieval stuff for Ghosts of Tsushima
You can reduce Dark Souls to make it sound uninspired the same way faggot
>drab castles
>inside castles
>outside castles
rome
there's barely any media out anyway
we've seen only 2 areas
Carthage
I love the feudal Japan setting, but the game looks kinda low budget compared to Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3. It looks like a game that From might have made for the PS3/360 before they were a well known studio.
fictionalised rome that involves campaigns into carthage, britain, greece and germany
maybe have some underworld area too
I thought that too and then I realized they've been showing the same tiny area for the past two fucking years
SILENT HILL
>subhuman Aztecs
They put all that Aztec stuff in their VR game for a reason. If they're basing a Bloodborne sequel/spiritual successor around Aztec history and mythology then the fact that Aztecs were subhuman, cannibalistic savages would only serve to heighten the horror. Imagine levels set in dark pyramids in the jungle where you're fighting monstrous tribal warriors, sounds kino.
I see you took the gloves off. Straight to the point instead of 'Why is there no hype?'
It is.
nioh had all 4 tho.
it has mountains and also more fantasy themed castes for the final boss, as well as fields.
what japanese setting did you want more from nioh?
Any good discounts? It's only 6% off on GMG.
It looks great faggot
Your taste belongs in a dumpster.
lmao fucking white cucks so mad that from moved away from their overdone westcentric setting to do their own shit for a change
that's pathetic
>Why the fuck are they wasting time doing this garbage instead of a new Souls game?
From confirmed working on a new dark fantasy action RPG several times, plus there's two unannounced titles
Moronic ramblings of an illiterate brainlet.
nioh also had very very bad and boring map design
nioh level design is fucking great you shitter, most levels have a unique concept and there's plenty of shortcut routes to unlock as you progress.
How many teams do they have now?
Get fucked PVPfag
i found it pretty much to be on par with souls level design desu, tho after a while the secrets become pretty obvious because of how much time you spend playing the game.
did you expect something more, like a branching path where you can only take one route for each level run?
sometimes they might feel a bit linear but i found them in no way bad.
plenty of eye candy too, like the giant skeleton boss or the rainy sacred mountain
Will Sekiro allow me to hack and slash enemies in the most satisfying way like Ninja Gaiden?
i prefer, well, i don't have a preference as long as the game is good and they don't reuse the same assets over and over and over and over and over
not once played PVP faggot
yes you have, don't lie
i dont know, something just didnt click for me
now the weapons movesets and skills is another thing spears for life
like ancient Arabia or London?
only in bloodborne with my scythe
>it's objectively boring, sales will tell that.
then go play fortnite and ape legends
Then why are you complaining about single player only?
so you want the european medieval fantasy setting instead
yeah no game has done that recently
absolutely none
i might have responded to a wrong post anons, my bad
still sounds better desu
>spears
literally the only thing that i couldn't get a feel for in 300 hours and finishing every NG difficulty
i mean, it's stylish but it doesn't do anything particularly well
tonfa is mor stylish and rapes KI
odachi has the same range and really rapes KI and hp
kusa is OP as shit and rapes everything, on top of being stylish
katana has the iai cheese
2kat has mortal flow to eat ki and a faster version of the iai you can spam
>DMCucks tried shitting on RE2
>Failed miserably
>Now they're doing the same to Sekiro
Fuck off and take your goblina with you.
gorgeous japanese natural scenery >>>>>>> smoggy late 1800s european cities
> wow samurai
> wow feudal japan
Unironically glad they're cutting RPG elements from Sekiro.
Was it just me or did all the RPG crap in Bloodborne felt completely unecessary? I didn't mind it much throughout my time in Dark Souls but in BB it just felt tacked on yet I can't really pinpoint how.
before the game came out, i never wanted to play anything but the kusarigama, when i started playing it felt a bit underwhelming and sometimes the timing was just off for me
then i moved to katana which i enjoyed a bit but overall felt pretty standard and kinda boring
i found myself in the spears, the moveset is good and can reach low mid and high flawlessly, the skills are great, the range is perfect, and once i got it all down the game became something else
i never had any trouble with humans since except for that cunt duel with two unlimited living weapons
i tried all of the weapons, but the spear just felt the most natural, something juck clicked
Well do explain then.
This pic hit hard.
Futuristic megastructure like BLAME!
