Imagine the misery. I'd quit making games.

Respond.
i saw it in a gamestop once and was very confused
that review looks like shit though
I have the Vita version in my backlog because I buy anything that's an SRPG. Is it that good?
>looking at critics
>looking at any sort of "games journalism"
>ever
when will you fucking learn
>unfair challenge
>convoluted combat
Gonna check it out, thanks. There's a massive chance the reviewer is just retarded.
What makes it such a good system?
>+Free skill respec
its not fair these pussys get 2 say whats what just cos they write good
It's about linking your characters and giving yourself numerous extra attacks. Your goal is to eliminate the enemy units in the correct order so that you can chain your turns back to back to back.
Remains fair as fuck on the highest setting. You can't let the momentum shift, however. The enemy can do the same shit and run you the fuck over.
IGN hated the magic system 'cause it's finite and shared between all of your characters. You're supposed to use spells with caution and make the most of your Pluton reserves. You get a little more with every chest you open.
Just be aware that it's a punishing game. Shit's addictive and rewarding when you get good, though. Feels phenomenal.
This OP is terrible. An actual good OP would be
"Natural Doctorine is amazing because it has X system that works like Y and it is good because Z"
You saying "its amazing" is just as useless as a review saying "its shit"
Terrible game, the only good thing about is the box art.
Bruh.
Looks like a unity indie game with free assets. This was clearly a minor setback, I hope we don't lose their massive talent.
Sounds like it's more tedious to learn than it's fun to actually play.
You gotta keep your opening post short or faggots will avoid your thread like the fucking plague.
>"why didnt you read posts that were made after you made yours"
I don't see an "(OP)" next to so what is your argument?
I way overly enjoyed FFT.
Got any gameplay videos of this game to show off it makes FFT like like baby's first game?
Bruh.
>the enemy can use the same tactic you are capable of to totally push your shit in
this is not why i play video gaymes
He had twelve seconds to respond. You fucking gunt.
Not till you drop the name.
Why would I do that? It goes against my life goals of making friends here so I don't have to play vidya alone.
FFT doesn't need Natural Doctrine to be preschool garbage
You forgot one more
>OP is a contrarian faggot, like 95% of Yea Forums shithole
This, not to mention the music that plays only goes for about a minute before looping
>Muh Metacritic.
Some of my favorite games are reviewed close to 100. Some sit around 60.
Why do you let others form your opinions on your behalf? Dumbass.
i always knew tripfags were lonely losers
Who the fuck would want to be friends with somebody who openly browses Yea Forums?
You must play some truly kino vidya my man if FFT is garbage in your eyes. Recommend me something
Because it goes against the principles of posting on an anonymous image board.
Tell me a single game in the 60s that you consider actually good and i will give you 60 reasons why the game aswell as your taste is objectively shit
Based Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre.
you might aswell use a proper vidya forum in that case. Noone would ever associate or even befriend a tripfag
I'll give you one better
Tactics Ogre is amazing but its story and gameplay are literally the exact same level of quality as FFT.
Travis Strikes Again.
well my argument is that the power of the masses will always make the truth shine through. I dont consider 22 reviews remotely enough for that to apply. I would say any game with 100+ reviews that is still in the 60s is garbage
FFT gameplay wise feels pretty rudimentary compared to TO, although I've played the PSP LUCT and PS1 FFT, so maybe WoTL is better
The difference between you and Quentin can't even be measured. Kill yourself you attention whoring, Minecraft playing fat autistic newfag.
Well Neverwinter Nights had a harder to understand combat system but it has high reviews so explain that
Travis Strikes Again deserves its score. Even people who like it can't HONESTLY say it's a game that deserves anything in the realm of 8 or above
I would. Why would I want to be friends with normies?
I am anonymous though.
Filled with beta cucks.
Quentin never really played vidya. He was more of a Yea Forumskid.
the power of the masses is to destroy the truth with convenient lies
It's a fucking cool game, I enjoyed it a ton. It has an amusing difficulty, Easy mode starts off hard and gets easier while Hard Mode starts off easy and gets harder.
The ability to freely try new builds whenever is a perfectly fine addition
If we judged it purely as a game, I'd say the 69 score was fitting in many ways. That said it's a real treat if you followed Suda's works passionately and I don't think I've ever felt more intimate with a developer after finishing it.
if you don't give the tripshit attention, it will go away, they feed off of it
To be honest i even forgot that there were other FFTs besides WoTL and the Advance game. I played Tactics Ogre and WoTL simulatiously years ago and it was propably one of the best gaming years ive had. FFT Advance has a completely different tone story-wise but i still thought it was great overall. Although maybe you have to be a teen to truly identify with FFT Advance since the story mostly revolves around teenager escapism and the relationships between family members from the perspective of said kids.
the user strawman lighting up a joint in the sixth panel which he proceeds to smoke for the rest of the conversation is a great touch
As a kid i had a major crush on that pink haired rabbit girl from FFTA. Also the concept of judges as these peak beings was always cool to me. Wasn't there a sequel to FTTA for the DS? How was it? Worth emulating?
Every time a journo says "unfair challenge" you can directly translate to "non braindead combat".
Gaming journalists today are a disgraceful shameful husk of what they should be.
>well my argument is that i clearly set the goalposts too close to something that could be possible
>i would say that you have to find a game that fits my newer and even more specific criteria or else you are wrong
>FEfaggot
>Retarded
Clockwork
Whoops, wrong pic.
There's a couple people I watch on youtube that really liked this game. I've always wanted to try it but I'm fucking terrible strategy games.
youtube.com
I only played this because Sojiema did the art
Reminder that Natural Doctine's ending cutscene has no subtitles because NISA were too lazy to bother, and when pressed about it they told people to just switch to the dub.
The respec system is fluid to the point where you can respec at will and try different builds at will. The issue is the review as a whole. It's fucking retarded how journalism sites get to decide which games are great.
Imagine slaving away on a game like New Vegas only to have your Christmas bonus pulled 'cause the game didn't score high enough on Metacritic.
I appreciate the warning. Legit.
>convoluted combat
>unfair challenge
Thanks OP. I still need to pick up Digimon Next Order tomorrow, guess I'll grab this as well
>It's fucking retarded how journalism sites get to decide which games are great.
but they don't, only you can decide which games are great to you. All review sites do is post their opinion on things, and if one jagoff doesnt like a game you do, it doesnt matter, billions of people out there dont share your opinions.
I've been tempted to play this before, since I have my suspicions that like usual, the "game journalists" just didn't seem to understand the combat system, but I'm still not sure. It could genuinely end up being a terrible experience. Are there any good faqs or video guides that explain some of the finer points of the combat? Or is it possible to just pick it up as I go?
They make or break games. Idiot.
>Enjoy a game
>Read a review that says it was bad
>Suddenly I hate it
WTF BROS HOW DO THEY HAVE THIS POWER
You're not the general public, fucktard.
>think about purchasing game
>read reviews
>they all say its shit
>don't buy game
One minor fuckup in ND and the enemy will punish you hard using mechanics that you have access to but the tutorial never tells you
Is it legit worth the time to learn or is it tedious like the last remnant?
Long list of tips is legit two button presses away. You stupid fuck.
It's not a DSP style game. You gotta be introspective.
>Die.
>How did I fuck up?
>Win.
It's not a game that holds your hand and coddles the fuck outta you.
The Last Remnant PC was good but fuck the console version. ND is worth learning if you like in depth systems, but fucking hell put on some background music or something, the default music drives you insane. It's satisfying but it's pretty obtuse as a game
Too be fair the game will change the win condition on the fly without a warning. The sucker punches only working once makes the game trial and error.
I didn't ask if it holds your hand. I asked if it's worth the time investment. Complexity != quality.
It's interesting for sure but there are more satisfying TRPGs out there. ND is more for people who have exhausted the genre
I don't like other SRPG releases. I don't usually enjoy anime games, either. NAtURAL DOCtRINE's stupid satisfying.
I haven't noticed the music like that. You play on the Vita?
>A major update released on July 10, 2014 added a new easy mode to the game, following initial complaints by players in Japan that the game is too difficult.
Damn. How difficult are we talking here exactly?
You have to remember that this guy was probably told to play this game rushed to fuck. This is the case of a lot of bad reviews because they don't get to sit and play the game like you do. And why they are generous towards shorter games. If you'd just come off something like pic related, you'd be like "OH THANK YOU GOD" if someone gave you a 5 hours game.
one inefficient/wrong move can cause to you restart the map.
No I got the PS4 version. A lot of TRPGs have this issue, like Tactics Ogre music getting pretty grating but NDs is awful
Sounds like Disgaea on steroids.
You have to work to break TO. FFT has some fantastic writing and production but as an actual strategy game it really falls short of just about every way. The game can easily break itself by accident even on your first blind playthrough, becoming completely trivlal because you got a couple levels ahead of the curve to try and see how well auto-potion works among other things. Both FFTA games play much better if that's your concern, most everything in the genre including a lot of janky medium studio games actually do.
go jerk off boco then faggot.
You joke but whenever I've seen Yea Forums actually try to write something game journo it's fucking hilarious how badly its written
These nerds think that just because they think about video games 24 hours a day they have interesting things to say about games or that they're good writers because they can shitpost on Yea Forums
You ever seen that awful "edited" review Yea Forums made? It was embarrassing
I remember you. Did you get banned or something for spamming the same thread daily?
You can argue that FE is too weeby or that the gameplay is boring but you can't argue that FE gameplay is braindead.
>Weeby
I'm not a raging normalfaggot so I don't use that dumb as fuck term. FE is shallow garbage, like %99 of all Nintendo properties
>you can't argue that FE gameplay is braindead.
