Because "east" is meaningless in this context. Other parts of Asia don't actually make enough games to matter. Japan makes 90+% of the games from that region. On the other hand, in the west, Canada and western European territories make enough games that the United States doesn't necessarily have a monopoly on western-made games.

Because Koreans only like MMOs and Starcraft and Chinese games are so shit that not even the Chinese want them. In the East, the only real game producer is Japan.
