What are your hopes for the next Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game?

I need machine learning and deep brains to remove that bandaid from every image of that bunny pokemon that I see.

That it won't be mobile mtx garbage.
>That'll be $4.99 for 5 reviver seeds :^)

That it's as good as Super Mystery Dungeon.
>"b-b-but muh comfy Wigglytuff's guild!! I hate being in elementary school ;("
"No!"

Sure Explorers' story is cool by Pokemon standards and had enough twists to tickle my 14 year old brain, but the gameplay was a slog (also too easy) you suffered through for the story. Super Mystery Dungeon's gameplay is so good that it's by far my favorite roguelite. Each dungeon is shorter but harder than those of its predecessors, with a lot more variety in movesets and the emera system encouraging exploring the whole floor and mixing things up on each run.

I can rewatch Explorers' cutscenes on YouTube, but if I actually want to replay a GAME, I'd play Super again in a heartbeat.

Oh and Super has one of my favorite soundtracks in vidya, if it were the OST to a high profile game it'd be hailed as one of the greatest of all time by everyone, too bad it's a Pokemon spinoff everyone overlooks

We need the have the friend areas back. Not only did it feel satisfying as hell to see all of the mons native to a certain area wondering around but I also love the fact that they made you manage your money so that buying them would be even more rewarding.

I would also like the opportunity to evolve earlier. Like is it really too much to ask for more expressive artwork of your mon's face and additional models during the story?

Unrealistic: showing love to your partner and fucking every night
Realistic: simply sharing the same hay bed

I hope it becomes a mobile game like Mario Run.

I might consider giving Super a second chance. I dropped it after an hour or two because of the aforementioned school shit.

>What are your hopes for the next Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game?
I hope it's less childish. I don't want it to be mature or anything, but please, no more fucking kindergarten/elementary school shit.

the school shit lasts ~8 hours or so and is really fucking boring, but after that part the game becomes great and arguably better than Sky.

You play gates? It's the most mature game for Pokemon standards. Has flaws like slow text speed and can only select one quest, but the characters are the best in the series by miles.

>Friend Areas back
>Less stuff where you get Pokemon by doing missions and getting 4-5 at a time, which made evolution pointless since you unlock every single Pokemon and don't ever need to evolve it unless you just NEED to get multiples of the same Pokemon, and makes it leave less of an impact since you sometimes just get them without any real challenge
>More difficulty in the beginning story
>More post-game content
>Earlier change for evolution for more fulfillment and sense of progression than just keeping it for the end of the story

Also this

It was still childish with the Guild, but it wasn't to the point that even me as a kid would find it too much.

i love the games probably mostly out of nostalgia now but it's always weird to me that they insist on having the MC be a human-turned-pokemon.
It feels like they did it to have an excuse to whisk you away at the end, but then they always just have you return anyways

dating, marriage and for isaballe t-

wrong thread mb

The actual final boss being a pokemon who's probably modified like Primal Dialga and not some shitty object who can talk. Darkrai was the real shit back then.

Explorers story and recruiting system
Supers gameplay.

I fucking loved the gameplay of Super Mystery
if they just combine that with the story of Explorer
i'm good

It comes out.

Being able to evolve during the story
i hate having to wait till after post game to be able to do it
or hell just have my partner evolve

>YWN help breed a new generation of explorers with your partner that you risked limb and life for and went to every corner of the planet with
>YWN have both a best friend and wonderful lover that stood by your side through it all despite your amnesia and past
>YWN come to terms with who you are now and find a happy life retired with the one who is your partner in every sense of the word

Fuck

this
why must i go back to being a human
why can't i just be happy with my new life as a pokemon

...

apparently this is due to japan seeing evolved forms as completely different pokemon despite being in the same line

sorry let's have another racebait thread

Never played one.
Only had 4 games for my GBA and when I got around to playing a Mystery Dungeon game I didn't like it (Etrian Mystery Dungeon) even though it was based on a series I love. I have the demo for the 3DS PMDs downloaded but I don't want to try it now just in case I like it because I'm already ass-deep in 3DS titles I need to finish. If one had the Ultra Beasts in it I'd buy it immediately though.

This except unironically, and even if you want to put all the focus on the story, Gates covers that better anyway.

for it to actually exist

Super is really underrated, sure Explorers is my favourite but Super is an easy second

The fact that you play as a human turned pokemon makes no sense. I only played Super and you do NOT turn human or leave at the end. It just ends with the whole "adventures continue" thing and we have no idea about what your life was like before you left.

there's never going to be another pokemon mystery dungeon, unfortunately.
supposedly, the spinoffs didn't sell well enough for tpc's standards. personally, i'm more inclined to believe that game freak got sick of watching more competent studios keep dunking on them with their own ip, so they finally put a stop to it.

Self insert purposes and allowing the player and player character to learn about the PMD world around them more organically. Someone living in that world all their life should know a bunch of stuff, ergo, explaining the basics of their world would be pointless.

but it sold 1.5 million
