fighstick doesn't make you automatically good. it's all about comfort and personal preference. play with what you're most comfortable with.

You can 100% become good at fighting games without one. It's all personal preference. If you like using a game pad, use that. I personally use a fightstick because I absolutely hate doing precise inputs on a d-pad and never found one I felt was comfortable enough to work with.

You can play fighting games with whatever controller you want.

Only time I felt like I HAD to use a fightstick to get good was for Magneto in MVC 2 or even 3.

My game significantly improved after buying one. If you wanna know, play SF/Tekken with a controller at home and then head to an arcade and throw a few dollars into a cabinet to see the difference.

IMO they're only really essential for IAD or any directional input that requires precise timing on neutral (which is harder to gauge on a pad)

I guess in the case why not use one? Why limit yourself? I know they're not essential but if you're a fan of fighting games and can afford it, why not? I use mine for side scrollers as well, very fun to use.

>uses the pad
disappointing but good job beating Dogura
