SRB2 Kart is a Mario kart like mod on the doom engine, using Sonic characters and themes. There are plenty of custom characters and tracks loaded on the server, so you don't have to like sonic to enjoy it. Enter the race, and change your character, through the start menu when in the server.
Also, while this thread is up, does anyone have any good tutorials on how to make new tracks? I know how to use Doombuilder so drawing out the tracks with Zonebuilder isn't the problem, but there's a lot of SRB2kart specific stuff I don't know how to handle (how to set up the track path, enable certain settings, which wads to load with the map to test the level, that sort of stuff).

In all honesty most of the good info is in the discord

You'll need to set srb2.srb, gfx.kart, and textures.kart as your resource files. Kart loads these files by default, so you shouldn't need to load any additional files unless you're using external resources.
wiki.srb2.org contains a lot of information about making SRB2 wads. much of it should also be relevant in Kart.
Try opening maps.kart in Zone Builder to get an idea about how the official levels are set up.
IIRC, the track path is determined by starposts, similar to how SRB2's circuit race mode works. There should be a tutorial about that on the wiki.
Mozzie here, what's wrong with my ping? Is it making your side laggy? I'm a europoor, that may explain it. (Also to the guy asking in chat: yeah there's a port for it, you just need to hack it first)

You're fine now.

If even joining directly by IP didn't work then it should be your computer/firewall not allowing connections in this game.

What OCs are you talking about?

How do I set my controls? I can't stop turning

options control setup player 1 controls
Christopher Perry
If you're using a gamepad, go to Options - Control Setup - Player 1 Controls - Gamepad Options. You might need to set Drift and Use Item to None, and then just use the shoulder buttons instead of the triggers. I had that problem before.
