It's a microSD adapter that goes into the slot where you normally put Vita's game cartridges.
The catch is that you need a hacked Vita to use it otherwise it won't read the adapter.
However all Vita's are hackable now due to downgrader.

Currently reinstalling FFVIII to get around S-E's incompetence. Got Platinums for all the Dangans, both the Raymans a couple of Kaguras and VLR. My sister got me into P4G (it was her favorite game) and we got to share some conversations while grinding out Risette Fan on our own. Very underrated system, especially by Sony itself.

I still don't understand why snoy made 1st party memory cards they own the fucking playstation store so if everyone has a 64gb sd card they can download more games and then snoy takes their cut which would most likely outweigh any profit they made from those memory cards they made

The memory card thing was a combination of plain old greed and paranoia over what happened with the PSP getting hacked so early. PSP hardware always sold well but software didn't (the PSP had a notably low average attach rate), which Sony likely attributed to CFW appearing so quickly, so they were determined not to let it happen again, but in going so overboard with system protection, they basically put a huge dent in the Vita right from the get-go.
