Crystal Shards. I remember when I asked for that game and Majora's Mask for Christmas and I only got Kirby as a used cartridge without box, which was fine enough for me. I had an absolute blast finishing it at 100%. The minigames specially were just too good.

Planet Robobot by far, a massive rollercoaster from beginning to end with by far the best final boss in the entire series, along the best final boss music. Jesus Christ the first time I saw Kirby fusing with the Halberd and flying to the atmosphere of Pop Star to chase Star Dream had me with a stupid grin that never left during the whole fight. And that after firmly believing they would never be able to top Sectonia.

The only non-fighting game stream I've ever been in was Woolie doing Heroes in Another Dimension and Soul Melter EX for the first time, and I enjoyed it. Mostly because he's in there when it comes to the lore without getting too serious about it. Paused on every boss to read lore live.

Kirby 64 or Amazing Mirror. The first has all sorts of fun and unique gimmicks/novelties (making good use of 3D, ability mixing, Miracle Matter). The other is a fun Metroidvania and one of my first Kirby games.

Return to Dream Land. It just feels so complete compared to the later games. The only thing it's missing is a Guest-Star-esque mode allowing you to play as Dedede, Bandana Dee, Meta Knight.
Also, I only recently noticed how everyone reacts on the title screen and it's a nice little moment for the group.

Kirby games have a solid core foundation, so with that by its lonesome they're still enjoyable. However, Kirby games can be pretty mediocre at times, like launch Star Allies, due to not having enough content, good level design and being mind-numbingly easy.

There's bad games but they're all spinoffs. Blowout Blast, Battle Royale, Star Stacker. Anything done by HAL that wasn't Sakurai/Shimomura/Kumazaki-directed is suspect in some aspect outside of Dream Course and Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, which are pretty great.

It's almost like this musical dissonance happens in every Kirby game (Okay not so much Dreamland 3 the final boss music is chipper as fuck)

Every time you think they've done every possible rendition of Dedede's theme they still make a new one that sounds good.

Funnily enough the kirby franchise already recycles a lot of the kirby material but contrary to game freak there's actual love and care with hal
Star Allies was so "meh" because they wanted to please the audience that was going to play with friends and thus sacrifising good level design
but even then they released the dlc that kinda redeemed the game

But most the people who worked on Mario Party at Hudson still work on Mario Party at the current company who makes it. If the Kirby staff moved to Game Freak then sure that'd be fine.
