Realistically, will it be any good?

A cautious "Maybe"

It'll be the best 7/10 game to come out in the last 5 years

i have faith but at the same time i kind of don't i don't think obsidian can top fallout new vegas

Attached: 91.png (439x373, 345K)

Someone post the pic.

I heard there won't be mods for it so my expectations are rock bottom. Porn mods are what make bethesda's games tolerable.

I understand people feeling the need to suck obsidian's cock in here
But the combat looks dismal, like a full generation behind, plus the fortnite tier artstyle
It's a no from me

This, best to wait a few days for reviews to pile up before buying.

Obsidian hasn't made a good game in almost 10 years.

*buuurp*

I want to fuck and cum in the tomboy

It will be an unfinished mess with a few cool features and fags here will call it a 10/10 like obsidians other unfinished games

Realistically, no.

Reminder

>linear game, not open world
>small areas
>short 13 hour campaign (they said the size of 2 planets in KOTOR II)
>no third person camera
>no mod support
>no romance
>forced to be nice to your gay and trans party members

Attached: 1550261787402.jpg (1024x1024, 137K)

is that all true? that sounds fucking bad lol

The fact that it's not actually an open-world depressed me,. I'll give it a maybe.

Unless it gets shit reviews from the few reviewers I trust I'll probably grab it at first discount.

>forced to be nice to your gay and trans party members
Even so, you can have them permanently killed.

>top new vegas
That's a very low bar you have there

I still have a lot of love for Obsidian. I'll be looking out for it, and I think it will probably be good.

I'm interested in the porn of this chick getting raped, maybe the game'll be good, too.

Haha being contrarian is good

>muh romance

Attached: look at this faggot.gif (480x270, 1000K)

Based

putting NV on a pedestal is one of the most contrarian things you can do

>Obsidian hasn't made a good game in almost 10 years.
Fuck you you ret...
>Realise this is actually true
Shit. Fuck this gay Earth...

Attached: fuck_earth.jpg (480x270, 19K)

Because a poorly balanced mess with exposition dump characters is the pinnacle of games, right?

no, none of the people that made new vegas good are gonna be working on it. Woman lead writer and uninspired borderlands rip off mean this is a no hoper

Attached: bbb.jpg (379x380, 52K)

>not open world
GOOD.
>no lockpicking or hacking mini-games
GOOD.
>no romanceable NPCs
GOOD.
>no third-person
GOOD.
>another Reddit game
so you already played it huh?
No mod support is the only sort of bad thing but we won't know if this is true until the game actually comes out. There are tons of games with no mod support that have mods anyway.

considering NV any sort of masterpiece is the contrarian opinion. You've been in this echo chamber too long, friendo

You've managed to perfectly articulate my expectations in a single sentence. I imagine the game will be riddled with flaws but it will also be the only game that fills the specific RPG niche I'm looking for so I'll overlook all the problems, play it religiously, and enjoy it despite it's serious problems.

Not being depreciative here but will this game have any original things/ideas in it, that will make it stand out from other hub based FPS/RPGs? So far it doesn't look like they're bringing anything new to the table.

Attached: 1549420229943.jpg (900x900, 80K)

It is absolutely not a masterpiece. It is just somehow the only modern-style fps/tps game that has implemented player choice correctly.
Probably because every AAA-studio is investing in the Cinematic Experience™ meme

I'm excited for it because there are scant few good hub based FPS RPGs that I'm aware of. Could you give me a list of rpgs like this that you've played. It seems like you're not excited at all and that makes me think I've overlooked games that I would otherwise enjoy.

Look up the writing team and realize how fucking awful it will be.

>linear game, not open world
hub based, stop lying on the internet
>small areas
we wont know that until it comes out and even then it's fine as long the content is good
>short 13 hour
i'd rather have that than a Ass creed tier game full of boring shit
>no mod support
got a source on that?
>no romance
good
>forced to be nice to your gay and trans party members
you can kill anyone or so they say.

>>not open world
>good
Begone, thot.

Maybe.

You are the poster child for why gaming has sucked for the last 7 years.

>Source, MY ASS

They said it would be open areas, but not sandbox.
Nothing about campaign hours.
>third person camera on a fps...
They said they were checking to have some tools for mod support after the game releases.
>wanting another shitty romance system because you are such a pathetic virgin you need a digital character to love you
they didn't say anything about being nice to gay and trans party members, or anything about having gay or trans party members

Seriously, as much as I don't like obsidian, at least try to find some REAL negative points about the game, not taking them out of your asshole.

Actually everything he said has ruined games for the last 7 years

Open world games filled with pointless collectables and awful romances to pad out the game have all been just terrible

It'll be better than Fallout 76. Probably.

>no romance: good
Oh yeah, god forbid a story have people acting like people in it. Everyone should just be purely platonic, sexless robots like us- wait no, not that

>muh waifu simulator
>romance in vidya in anywhere close to realistic
grow up

Disappointment is the new normal.

Attached: 17c.png (680x337, 125K)

It will be to new vegas what yooka laylee was to banjo-kazooie.

Attached: 1532323773081.png (317x357, 203K)

>rpg games
>actual romance
Oh yes, because talking to a party member 5 times so you get your good boy points with them high enough so they drop their pants and see a black screen for 10 seconds is totally how people act.

Attached: apgame 2012-09-18 20-20-02-31.jpg (1920x1080, 115K)

its a low budge rpg thats trying to fill the fallout void. I''k take anything at this point

>every game handles romance like Bioware
>romance can't be done well
>you're the child because you want sex in your game, not me for thinking all relationships being purely platonic looks completely normal in a story
don't know what I expected

Yeah. After watching a bunch of Game Informer coverage on it, I'm hopeful. But at the end of the day it's still an Obsidian game so it'll likely be buggy as shit on launch even if it's good.

I get the vague idea of your post, but do you really think that romances in games involve people acting like people? If it could be done well, then I'd be all for it, but I don't see how you could properly include a romance in an RPG where it's not the focus at all. Name one example of this happening and it being A: good, B: not a primary component of the game. It's a different argument entirely if you think that any RPG should have in depth character relationships down to the level of romance, but at that point you just want this game to be something else and you should be complaining that Obsidian isn't catering to your tastes not that anons want the wrong things from the game that is catering to them.

of course it can be done well, however, do you think obsidian can?

No point in arguing with idiots

>praising the maker of fo:nv
>shitting on why it was great

Never go full retard

nice cop out bro

Attached: 0F2.jpg (201x200, 5K)

That contradicts a previous statement of yours:
>You are the poster child for why gaming has sucked for the last 7 years.

If you want to change this then clearly you are required to argue with idiots, which means there definitely is a point in arguing with idiots. Because of this, you actually don't have an excuse for not making an argument, so any attempt to shut down the conversation (like this post I'm replying to) is actually a concession that the other person is right. If it is not a concession then of course you have to explain why, but that is arguing.

The open world element severely damaged the game and is often criticized the most

youtube.com/watch?v=n2CXtrPkT2M
doesn't really sound that good

>but do you really think that romances in games involve people acting like people?
They haven't been done well so far, that doesn't mean people shouldn't try
>Name one example of this happening and it being A: good, B: not a primary component of the game
Witcher 3 did fine, but we're still talking in terms of "select a girl and then talk to her nice" Bioware style. It doesn't have to be like that at all.

Metro Exodus just handled the protag having a loving wife perfectly fine.

Probably not, but seeing as the game is selling itself almost entirely on story and choices I would've figured they'd at least fucking try.

They never made a good game to begin with.

>open world
>good
begone, zoomer.

Then you should be excited. New Vegas isn't anywhere near the masterpiece you believe it to be, and this is from someone who is always eager to play it.

i'm kinda worried, this sounds mediocre at best

Attached: 1474140539453.gif (400x300, 2.75M)

Combat will be absolutr shit but the story might be good

I don't know about mediocre but it does make me feel like the game is going to be like 3 hours long.

Game looks mediocre.
Really embarrassing that Bethesda/Bioware fanboys crawl out of the woodwork and do so much damage control over such an unnoteworthy game.

Attached: 1471057564659.gif (237x240, 1.95M)

The problem is that games that are not mediocre in this genre don't exist. Give me one to play and then I'll stop talking about Outer Worlds.

Name one game that does NV's job better than new vegas.

The hour long interview they did was kinda depressing. Dunno, they don't sound too excited about it.

You're fucking isane.

Gunplay? STALKER.
Dialouge options? VTM:B, Planescape: Torment, any Fallout before 3
Graphics? Literally anything else that isn't bogged down by Bethesda's shitty engine.
Character Customization? Dragon's Dogma.

Elaborate on what "NV's job" is first.

They sound excited for future installments.
Private Division seems to be really holding the leash on the budget and they had to cut a lot of stuff they were looking forwards to.

It will be such a 7/10 game that it will make 10/10 games look like 5/10 games

>Several games that all play completely differently from F:NV
The key is in bringing all these pieces together. Nothing else does that, but it's clearly possible since New Vegas did it, and it's clearly desirable since people don't shut up about it around here.

It'll be alright. Open world rpgs have been done to death.

>STALKER
>VTM:B
>Fallout
>Completely different

Attached: 1425882158644.png (446x365, 195K)

>limited rpg story elements
>lack of gunplay/comparable combat
>isometric
These are huge differences that completely change things. Sometimes I don't want turn based combat so I won't play the old fallouts. Sometimes I don't care about the story so I can play STALKER. Sometimes, though, I want the whole package even if its components are flawed, and I'd like another instance of that.
