I always feel they are trashing Front MIssion even further. I know it wasn an stelar SRPG but still it doesn't deserve this, they already tried something different with evolved...it was SHIT then move out to Left Alive and even if they say its not a Front Mission game, they borrow the story/world and lore that feels like an indirect shoot to the franchine.

However in general game sales are lower in japan. Well known franchines who used to sell over 300K now struggle to do something close to 200k or at least pass 100k. Shooters always sold less that most famous RPG but the most well known ones sold a way better than most JRPG nowadays.

All the Konami staff who worked on MGRR are still at Konami, and the director of Rising at Platinum is said to work on something, but he never said what, some people are speculating it may be a Rising 2, it would honestly make sense, he even said he listened to the MGR OST to motivate himself.
Konami also celebrated the anniversary of MGRR, they didn't do that in years. they also said they had some things for 2019...
