Wrong it's not really that necessary. Reading Remember11 first did make reading Ever17 a more frustrating experience because of higher expectations. So it's best to go E17 > R11.

the steam version is the all ages version with is objectively the best version of the game, the literal only thing that isn't improved is that they removed a song that's a rip off of livin la vida loca

It's a testament to how insanely good E17's final route is that I, and many others, would recommend going through 4 routes of filler just to get to that point.

That's the thing though. All the Infinity games use things you learned beforehand to fuck with your expectations. For example, the Izumi Cure route in Never7 would be a flop had you not seen the other routes first. Same with the Coco route in Ever17, or the Satoru route in Remember11. This extends to the things you come to expect from the previous games. All the rantings about SELF and "who's that behind you" in Remember11 would be very misleading to someone who is expecting Blick Winkel
