When Board James ended.

He ran out of games he had a connection with. The earliest games he reviewed, he played as a kid or had an encounter with growing up -- or, well, a good chunk of them. So, the reviews nowadays are basically what people ask him to do and it comes off as boring -- especially with the "loud means angry." Also, the improvement in video quality ruins the feeling of some guy being in his basement reviewing games -- though, that's more a victim of the times.

James is a beta loser.
