I hate L3 and R3 buttons but mousewheel isn't bad. I depend if you have a shitty wheel on your mouse.

mm you just need to get used to it, it feels strange at first but it's just because hardly any games do it.
Mostly just holding them down while you move them feels bad. I had hold-L3 be my button for throwing the axe in God of War, so that I could use L1 for sprinting + dodging and L2 for shield. It worked fine but it would not have if I had used R3 instead, since I'd have to be moving that same stick to aim the axe throw as I held it down

Would have been interesting to see how the game would have turned out if development wasn't restarted so many times. But I still stand by what I thought after playing FFXV in the day one version that it would have been greatly improved by having more traditional cutscenes rather than things happening while in gameplay

Give everyone more abilities to use. Let Prompto have all of the collected Machinery available at once through a menu. Have Ignis able to imbue individual elements to everyone as well as heal. Give Cor some Bushido for fucks sake.

I think the game was boring, or at least how the story was told. It felt like parts were cut and pasted on.
I guess its not really Tabata's vision, you know its a frankenstein monster of a game.
I really wanted to see an eighth of what Nomuras hopes for it were.

I played Original on launch and it was one of the most insulting dumpster fires I've ever experienced. The DLC should've been free, to deliver the massive chunks missing from the $60 game I already fucking paid for.

That’s a great point. I remember just having Neku run around Shibuya and exploring the sights while Calling or Deja Vu played in the background and it made for a comfy as hell experience. Honestly, TWEWY is one of the best handheld games ever made.

Like, if I could do it over from scratch with an unlimited budget? I'd leave the combat up to someone capable of doing that DMC stuff well, because I'll admit ATB is kinda dated, even if I personally don't mind it. After that, I'd drop the setting and characters save MC using weapons DMC style. I'd set it in Ivalice and have your party consist of two humans and one of every Ivalice race, each of which have their own special job (like moogle juggler, bangaa dragoon, etc ). The party would be around 10 or so characters, and the battles would have enemy count upped to offset that, sort of like adding in a bit of dynasty warrior flavoring there. I'd make the humans extremely obvious romance options, but I'd also put in secret unlockable full length romances for every party member, with explicit Y/N romance/bromance branches. I'd also ditch the car for a chocobo squad -> APC/RV combo ala Stripes (pic related) -> futuristic jet airship akin to Ragnarok from FF8. I'd get Neal Stephenson and Warren Spector to write the story.
