SLAY THE SPIRE, YOU NIGGER
Look up a tier list to help pick cards. Fight as many elites on first floor as possible while they're easy to get items. You dont have to pick a card so unless you're getting one that fits your deck it's better not to pick any
maybe you should have specificied in the op idiot
/facepalm
Are you retarded? It's literally right in the OP image, you Reddit posting queer.
There are some steam guides that will at least tell you what are some common basic decks to try to build for each character and will also give you an idea of which cards for each deck are utterly worthless and which are OP (but you'll probably get an idea of that over time). Ultimately RNG can still fuck you over or make things really good for you but it's generally about working with the cards and relics you get while trying to minimize the chance of getting fucked over. Also, I think Silence sucks dick compared to the other two and that Ironclad is probably the best character overall but I've gotten some incredible runs with Defect as well.

where is this idiot soup does it say slay the spire
Just look at Spirelogs, look at the tier lists and you'll see at a glance what works and what doesn't. They're not a perfect reflection of viability but they show a clear idea of the most safe strategies.
If you want to gid gud quickly then just know:
- Archetypes/Combos cannot be relied upon, and it is possible to win without some perfect deck. The important thing is picking good cards or cards that will counter the threats ahead of you.
- You can skip cards. If your deck is already big enough, you don't need more mediocre filler in your deck
- Attack Cards are useful for getting through Act 1, even if they don't seem great for later.
- AoE attacks are useful for Act 2, since most of the hallway fights are groups
- You need to have some kind of scaling cards/relics by Act 3 so you can win.
- Elites are usually worth killing, you want to build decks that can kill Elites
- Entering shops without 300+ gold is mostly pointless if you don't need to remove curses. The main reason to go to shops is to buy Relics.
- Card Draw is super valuable and not to be underestimated
Shut your god damn fucking mouth you piece of shit troll
In the OP image where it says Slay the Spire, stop shitting up the thread you retard.
Gib me runs. Upload here: spirelogs.com
fuck, I thought this was a Northernlion thread
ok im sorry i made a basic mistake anyone would have made fucking autists
Personally I'd rather not fucking embarrass myself by uploading my laughable runs.
FUCK that fucking heart, what a bullshit boss.
Call the shitty runs "experiments" and all will be OK. Don't be shy. You're anonymous, ffs.
The amount of combos that work is veeeeeery limited..
If you play Silent you have to go poison 100% of the time.
Ironclad is easiest with high strength gain, sometimes armor stack+bodyslam can work too.
Defect works best with Consume and add orb slots, but a claw build can work as well, its just a bit less reliable.
desu that's my biggest fault with the game. the potential functional combos are so limited that you end up forcing yourself into playing very predictable shit.
the wild rng card pools don't help either.
Had one successful Silent run with poison and it was on Ascension 17. Every other one was using discard & draw synergies with flechets and skewer being the energy dump. Poison against champ is kinda a pain in the ass.
Concentrate on ironclad.
Tier lists don't work because cards have dynamic value depending on deck and relics.
Like adding barricade to a limitbreak+ deck is adding a dead card.
Pick cards with high option value, clothesline, armaments, shrug etc, then refine, remove strikes and maybe defends, concentrate on getting important upgrades rather than resting.
Pick cards that are synergistic with cards you already have.
Best way to lose is to set out with a deck in mind and hunting for combo pieces.
Relics DO have a tier reasonably static list within archetypes.
That sounds horribly reliant on perfect card drops..
It's a very defensive game overall. You want to minimize your damage taken every round more than just trying to zerg them down.
Poison is good, but there's a ton of other viable builds. You're 100% fucked if you try to do a shiv/combo build and get time eater, though
Were you born this retarded or did you get in an accident?
>Anyone would have gone to an

>And deliberately ignored the
>Image
>Posted with the main text, which provides context to the actual subject of the thread
This is honestly some exceptional bait right here.
>Poison is the only viable Silent build
Shivs+Finisher is legit as fuck. Poison is not the only build.
Get lucky on card choices. It's not like good combos are hard to figure out.
Time eater ruined me so many time, god I hate that fucker.
The main reason to enter shops is to remove strikes and defends
Sure its legit, 5% of the time.. I failed about 50 runs trying to get a shiv build going and the only time it worked was with Shuriken + Kunai and no Time Eater at the end..
Silent is good, but really kind of boring. She's the tank of the game and if you can pick up a footwork or two you can basically beat the game by spamming block. It's just takes forever to kill anything without poison.
Trimming your deck isn't worth the opportunity cost of putting three relics into trash that you could have otherwise purchased, and you lose out on another room that would give you an event, card or upgrade you actually need.
Trying to reduce your deck is overrated, having Strikes is better than being polluted with status cards (Defends aren't even worth removing).
a small deck that lets you get to your combo pieces faster is more valuable than a card you'll only use if you have spare energy
Act 4 is retarded artificial bullshit, only beatable with cheesy boring decks, ruined the game for me
>Be Broken
>Get the fucking Awakened
>Have a power deck...
I am stuck trying to win with this guy, die on Act 3 Boss almost every time.
>HOW THE FUCK DO I GET GOOD AT THIS GAME?
>look up table of card values
>pick high value cards
>take paths with the most regular encounters to get maximum chances at good cards
>win every single game
Honestly, this game is pretty shitty because its "solvable." You could probably make a bot that could win it pretty easily.
You'll almost never play your full hand, so this isn't really true.
Wasting gold and rooms on shops to remove strikes is an awful way of playing.
Just beat Ascension 20 with the Defect. It's basically 95% luck but the game is fun nonetheless. I wish it was longer though.
>Draw 4 strikes and 1 curse on your turn
What now, turtlefag?
Strikes are worse than literally any other attack card you can get and are just bloat by the end. Removing them is not a bad idea, you don't know shit user.
shoulda removed those strikes
>It's a Taskmaster/Gremlin Leader episode
>Play silent
>get tingsha
>fill the deck with discards and draw cards
Heart was badly implemented. T
he Hp damage limit destroys too many deck builds. So you basically have to make a deck around the heart and play the rest of the game around it. Which is really disappointing because the best part of the game was discover new builds and combos.
Merchant relics are almost never worth it, you don't want to be buying cards unless they fit your combos, and going to a merchant to remove a strike is almost always better than fighting a regular enemy
>look up table of card values
>pick high value cards
Doing this is going to fuck new players. Every high rated card is a utility piece that enables specific combos. Several cards considered "garbage" in the tier lists are in fact the more common parts that rely on those combo pieces.
Take Flame Barrier for example, an Ironclad card. That thing is rated 201, the highest of all his cards, yet it will not win you games without the appropriate cards. It's completely reliant on Barricade, Metallicize, Body Slam etc.
lightning deck is my favorite build in the game.
You think I got the luxury to do that on Asc. 20? Enemies open their turn with like 40 damage. Either I draw the right cards or I lose.
Removing them is fine but burning your shops for that purpose is retarded.
Any kind of deck bloat is resolved with card draw.
Get lucky
More cards isn't a good thing most of the time
Silent and poison and or shiv run is what I have most success with
>spend energy on card draw instead of just removing chaff so you can draw the cards you need in the first place
>Pick that relic that gives enemies +1 strength
>Heart does like 100 damage per turn
I've beaten A20 with all characters multiple times, but A20 heart is my wall.
Just need to stuff a silent deck full of piercing wails I guess, I find the rest of the game more fun than act 4 though.
How do I deal with this giga nigga on A20 without losing 90% of my HP?
>All these people talking about beating A20 and I can't even complete a run unless it's a cheesable Daily Climb
>stacking poison deck.
>stack poison to 500
>heart only takes 200hp
uninstall
I have a 13 game A20 streak on the Ironchad.
Be very careful about how many skills you take early, try to stuff enough damage into your deck that you can kill him before too many turns pass. Save potions for elites.
Tell a brainlet your secrets, user. Even with Spirelogs I can't seem to construct a deck that can deal with the Part 2 boss unless I'm very lucky. I always either have a fuckton of damage with no defence, or high defence with little damage, I can never get the balance right.
Artifact potion to counter the vulnerability and never play a skill.
For some reason, snake plant fucks my shit up a lot
are you playing Ironclad? If you're stacking defense just slap in some Body Slams
Disarm on Ironclad or Malaise for Silent will body him. Defect shouldn't require a ton of effort as you should always be going frost/focus to ensure survival.
That Hexfag aways ruins my day. On A20 he's got 100HP and his attacks do 32 damage for some reason. It's fucking retarded.
>recommends going into shops to remove curses
>doesn't recommend removing strikes/defends, the worst cards in the game which basically amount to curses in value after act 1
>except you can't even hope for a du-vu doll/blue candle combo
you dodge the bosses that your deck will be countered by. For example the stone head boss is a hard counter for some decks. So you avoid bosses on 3rd route and save all your money for shopping on that floor.
Re-evaluate which path you should take at every single branch. Learn the enemy attacks and buffs/debuffs by heart so that you can know what's coming. Know what enemies spawn in each section as well. What potions you should pick up or pass up will depend on your build.
This is just in general, class is irrelevant. Ironclad, Silent, Defect, I always end up skewed far to deep into either offence or defence, never both.
>flex
>inflame
>jaxx
>demon form
>limit break
>double tap
>whirlwind
Whirlwind is my favorite card, it's killed so many enemies and bosses for me. Anger and Heavy Blade are a close second and third
Balancing between defense and attack is a pretty small thing, i wonder if your actual problem is something else. Maybe you're picking bad relics after first boss. Maybe you need more draw. Maybe you need more ramp.
>yfw chemical x and necronomicon
Step 1: get the shovel cuz its OP as shit, step 2, use it as much as you can, step3 use block and slam/ do a fuckton of damage with a fuckton of strength as ironclad do poison the bitch as silent and use orbs as defect
>Maybe you're picking bad relics after first boss
Do you mean in the shop? I don't think I've bought a relic from the shop yet.
>get Creative AI
>win
Ez game tbqh
>not having a 5 card deck with some infinite draw and damage engine.
>3 energy card that doesn't pay off until 3-4 turns later
How's that A03 run going user?
>get cucked by time eater
I mean at the end of act 1. Boss relics. You should be buying relics from shops occasionally too. What are you buying from shops?
how about you play the game and learn the mechanics instead of sleezing through a guide?
I think after 21 hours of recorded playtime I get to ask, because this game is making me feel retarded.
>I mean at the end of act 1. Boss relics.
The ones without downsides, so no negatives like enemies have +1 Strength or something.
That's part of the game. First you suck. Then you think you're getting better. Then you realize you still actually suck. Then you actually get better without really realizing it.
>EZ games with sneaky dude
>EZ games with strong dude
>can't do shit with zappy dude
I simply don't understand how to git gud with him, first two are on high ascension, with the third one i can barely finish ascension 1
Imagine being bad at a game that holds your hand the ENTIRE time.
I watched a streamer play this for 3 hours and it was a normie streamer not anyone who was even good at it
I won my first game on my 4th or 5th run
you actually might be a factual living walking speaking retard
the game literally doesn't hold your hand, the fuck you blabbing about? it gives you same basic ass tutorial and then you're thrown head first in without any real explanation. anybody who wins on their first few runs got darn lucky.
Hence why I'm asking for advice, fuckface. That's how you learn, by asking.
DONT FUCKING CLOG YOUR DECK WITH SHIT CARDS JUST BECAUSE ITS BETTER THAN A STRIKE, LEARN TO SKIP AND TO THIN YOUR DECK
EARLY GAME YOUR BASICALLY TRADING HP FOR ANSWERS, YOUR EARLY CARDS AND RELICS SHOULD HELP YOU SURVIVE OR KILL FASTER, NOT TO PREPARE A COMBO WITH 4 MORE CARDS
PREPARE FOR WHAT YOUR FACING, GETTING A POTION IF YOU'RE FIGHTING VS AN ELITE MIGHT BE BETTER THAN GOING FOR A CARD
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE YOUR NEED FOR AOE ON THE FIRST 2 ACTS, SOME FIGHTS CAN AND WILL KILL YOU
LEARN WHAT YOUR "HEROES" DO AND HOW TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM
UNIRONICALLY WATCH SOMEONE PLAY FOR A WHILE, THEIR THOUGHT PROCESS MIGHT NOT DIRECTLY AFFECT YOU DUE TO YOUR LOW ASCENSION LEVEL BUT IT WILL DEFINITELY HELP TO SEE THAT SOME GUY CAN WIN OVER 80 TIMES IN A ROW ON ASCENSION 15, ITS ALL ABOUT MITIGATING RNG
MANA IS KING OF RELICS, UNLESS IT FUCKS YOUR DECK YOU ALWAYS WANT A MANA BOSS RELIC
AS YOU PLAY YOU WILL LEARN THE PATTERNS OF CERTAIN FIGHTS, MAKING THEM WAY MANAGEABLE, NOT ALL THINGS ARE RANDOM
>poison deck
>get like 200 poison on that faggot bird boss the first time I fought him
>mfw he awakens
if you really want to win just pick ironclad and get an early one of those cards that you can upgrade infinitely
that's the most fun I had winning a game early and was relatively easy
just play till you get it within the first half of the run, if you don't reset
winning doesn't really mean much though it's about testing your ability to build decks and take them as far as you can with what you get, but if winning is all you care about then there are plenty cheese strats you can run
if you can block damge, do it, generally
don't attack when you can block and reduce the damage you take
you should get much further based off of that advice alone
Sounds like you're making bad boss relic choices. A lot of the +1 mana relics are really good, and all of have downsides, although the enemies get +1 str is one of the worst of them. Taking +1 mana boss relics is also more beginner friendly imo as being stuck at 3 mana means you need to build your deck better.
The Blizzard attack card is OP.
Get that one and some Glacier/Chill/Coolheaded as well as lots of focus buffs + orb slots.
This strat is heavily RNG though, since it requires Blizzard to do damage.
I've had runs where I got 200+ armor each round as well as dealing increasing damage with Blizzard into the hundreds for just 1 attack card
good advice
also all the retarded ascension 1 nigger anons who claim removing strike is the answer to having a 80% winrate on asc 20 are so clueless it is really hurting my mind jesus christ
YES removing strike is good
NO it is NOWHERE NEAR a priority for your deck. If you want to win on ascension 20 you will have a 25 + card deck on most of the runs. rarely smaller. the value of removing one shitty card is not nearly as big as getting GOOD cards in FIGHT REWARDS and getting relics that tie your deck together
>amount to curses
AHAHAHAHA yeah having a below average attack card is the same as normality or being weakend every turn sure
PLAY THE GAME NIGGER AND GET GUD
I managed to beat the final boss with ironclad and defect yesterday and today so I'm pretty happy. Ironclad run was carried by 2 offerings, a whirlwind, and limit break. Defect run was carried by seek, echo form, consume, capacitor orb spam.
I dunno why I'm bothering spoilering this.
I got this game out of sheer anger from watching NL play and be horrible. Pretty fun game.
Actually got him the first time I did a deck like that. Not sure about higher ascensions but 12 cards for 3 turns ended up being a enough.
based retard
you should be able to win almost always, unless you run very high ascensione levels, even with no good card RNG.
1- as in every game, when there are multiple enemies kill one of them first.
2- every combat must end with you getting out with the most hp possible.for most combat this mean prioritizing blocks, but for some high damage/ growing-power enemies you want to prioritize attacks over blocks.potions should ideally save you about 10 hp or be used to empower you against the boss.
3- you must be moderately greedy. you want to fight elites but you never want to be under 50% hp(2 elites while healing once is a good target for act 1).find a balance between upgrading/fighting elites and healing.
4- all events are somewhat balanced. don't pick the options that gives you the curse if you can't remove it before fighting the next elite/boss. don't take too much damage due to events if you can't heal etc...
5- the stregth of your deck is based on the average power of its cards. At first you are ok adding mediocre cards because they are still better than strike and defend, but after a while you only want to add cards you feel are very very good for your deck.removing bad/mediocre cards is a good deal.
6- it's ok to kill 2 elites act 1, but you need a couple of new *damage* cards to do it because all 3 fights play like races.act 2 every fight is very hard so it's better to aim for campfires and events. act 3 has many fights that benefit from area attacks.
7- the most important tip: the first hours of the game teach you to play badly. they make you think you can always force the deck you want, but once difficulty ramps up and you unlock all the cards that's no longer possible.you must stay open to all deck archetypes for most of the game. you can't just choose " i'll pick a bad strength card because i want to be a stregth deck". cards that are terrible outside of an archetype should be avoided until you are deep into it.
cont.
>MFW killing sentient in 2 turns with 4000 poison dmg

Bosses in Acts 1, 2 and 3
>Balanced for the most part, most are fun to play against and can be beaten even with a shit deck if using the correct strategy
The Heart:
> DUDE 500x50 DMG ON TURN 3 LMAO
typical way I've built that is easy to get working is to hoard power cards focusing on lightning
storm and static discharge are commons that stack with themselves
electrodynamics although very nice to have isn't essential
try not to get too many orb slots, rotating out lightnings for channel damage is more important
creative AI/echo form is only worth it if you can either play it early or you can do more than one thing in a turn (more than 3 mana)
Focus gain, Frost, and orb slots are all very important for pretty much every Defect run unless you're trying some weird Hyper Beam shit.
Defect can easily beat Tim Eater by setting up enough focus+frost to full block all of his attacks and leaving 1 or 2 lightnings in the back to chip away at his health each turn. For every non-scaling encounter, the same mindset can be applied.
Lots of Defect's cards (Echo Form, CAI, Lightning Strike, Blizzard) are slow burns which require several turns to start being effective, so avoid encounters which have high burst at the start or hard scaling, like the book and the head.
Know how to manage your orbs so you evoke them when you want to, and so you know when is the right time to evoke them. ie: you're going to cast both Zap and Glacier in the same turn. If next turn you know you won't take any damage, use Zap first so you can avoid evoking your Frost orb when it wouldn't do any good. Or if you know you're going to get hit with the Guardian's Hyper Beam, use Glacier first so you can get as much block as you can.
Focus is the most important. Defragment+s and Biased Cognitions when paired with Artifacts will make your run. Once you get your Focus, get Loops as well.
Buffers can soak up attacks that would otherwise kill you even through all of your block cards; just make sure you can do math so you don't lose a buffer by taking 1 damage.
>fucking BRIMSTONE WHIRLWIND AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Do not focus on gimmicky combos.
Pick good cards that deal a lot of damage through act 1 and slam some elites.
Your deck might get some identity late A2/in A3
And dont listen to the "remove all cards and have a 5 card super efficient deck"-retards, having your deck become 50% curses and statuses from the first elite you fight isn't really a way to win
Learn your match-ups.
cont.
8- think more short term: you want cards to beat the next elite and boss.this mean valuing decent and generic attack and block cards over synergy cards.aiming for a functional deck is better than aiming for a super tuned synergy deck. you don't need a deck with a very strong synergy to beat the 3rd boss.
9- 2 cost cards are decent because they "decrease RNG" by packing together 2 blocks or 2 attack cards in 1 draw.
10- having a 50% split of attack and blocks is important. some archetypes deviate for that, but if, for example, add 3 attacks to your deck, you might want to prioritize blocks after it. do use shops to remove starting strikes and defends of the type you have too many of.
11-energy relics are the best options out of all boss relics, for the most part. rarely their drawback is not worth it.
12- relics are situationally strong.a random relic in the wrong archetype is useless, but in the right archetype is godlike.the ability to choose to buy relics from shops is better than getting random ones IMHO, especially lategame when you have already chosen a synergy, if any.all healing, damage prevention and almost all energy relics are worth considering regardless of deck type.
13- not all cards or archetypes are good( some are only rarely good) you gotta learn them by playing or watching gay ass youtube tier lists.
Literally just keep playing. I had like 400 hours in before it was even fully released, and my first win took me around 8 hours or so.
>For the first time in days, get Mummified Hand on Defect
>Game hasn't thrown me a single Power card by the second boss
Spire-likes worth trying out:
Overdungeon
Blood Card
Fate Hunters
Neoverse
Any others?
>and my first win took me around 8 hours or so.
I'm at nearly a full day playtime and I've only beaten the daily, I haven't once beaten the regular non-Ascended run - I am that shit.
maybe you're just adding too many of the bad cards. you can look at spirelogs to see which cards are widely good.
I found Defect to be the easiest for your first win. He just snowballs so easily.
I've done three runs since creating this thread, and used Spirelogs on every attempt. I've died to the second boss every time.
Anybody that doesn't get this obvious trolling needs to get off Yea Forums
>he lets slime boss split
>Four Focus by the first boss
See, I never get this kind of stuff. I'm lucky to see a fucking Ball Lightning, not a Cold Snap, a Ball Lightning.
Is that the beta art? how do I activate the beta art? I already beat the final final boss on ironclad and defect.
>I am stuck trying to win with this guy, die on Act 3 Boss almost every time.
i used to die a lot to him, it turns out i was prioritizing picking powers a bit too much.now i pick less powers for all my decks and when i go power-heavy it's because the synergy it's worth the risk. it turns out you can play 10 powers in his face and still win if you are doing broken things.Sometime you better hold off playing powers however.
removing strikes is good user.
but it's important to understand it's not as important as actually adding some fucking good cards to the deck. and a good relic(which is rare to find on sale) is better than removing 1 card out of 30 lategame.
>he Hp damage limit destroys too many deck builds
that's actually my favourite part of it.
i don't like when a combo deck is too strong. at some points it just wins everything in 1 turn, at least heart asks you to build a deck with a combo stable enough to repeat it 3 times.
>Heart was badly implemented.
it's not very good i must admit, but not bad either.i think it's very hard to design a more-than-final boss that can challenge end-game decks.some archetypes are bound to take a hit, no matter how you design the fight, if you want the fight to be challenging.
...
>Be Silent
>First card select is Poison
>Second card select is Poison
>Third card select is Poison
>Guess we're going full Poison
>Game proceeds to not give me a single Poison card after this
robo-bird card pool is much harder to work with. its archetypes are much more reliant on specific single cards ( 0 cost attack deck is three times as strong if you get All for One, frost deck need the "deal damage for each frost summoned in the match" or doesn't work at all, dark deck stops working if you pick other cards, power deck is a pile of greedy trash power that will make you lose if you mesh it with different decks).
you might want to wait for a good signal to get into an archetype.
in my experience a mix of lightning frost focus and orb slots is easy to get into.frost cards are always decent, hologram and go for the eyes are much much better than what you would think at first.many powers are pretty bad.
>implying you need more than 3 poison cards
all you need is the one that triple the poison and nightmare.
I haven't played seriously in months. I feel the game is far too overtuned and it only got worse so any enjoyment of the game or progress is near non-existent.
> far too overtuned and it only got worse
?
you mean you no longer get ez wins user? because if you are decent at the game you can get alot of ez wins even at high ascension.
Yeah the game's falling into the same trappings as Darkest Dungeon, everything is being balanced around the 0.1% of players who can sniff out a broken combo before they even see the RNG seeds to the detriment of everybody else.
>poison build
>act boss has remove debuffs
RIP run.
it should trigger when he goes below 50%.you can plan around it and still win user.
That's wrong user, they specifically base their decisions on statistics taken from all Steam users. If a brainlet like Northernlion can beat Asc 20 with all characters with enough experience then they balanced it just right. You are better than these e-celebs, right?
What are some good mods to fuck around with? Getting tired of playing the same 3 characters over and over again for hours, but I don't know if any of the modded characters are good.
Slimebound.
>it should trigger when he goes below 50%.you can plan around it and still win user.
He did 60 damage right after removing all the debuffs, I was fucked.
Celerety is probably the best at this game. Watch some of his stuff and practice. You'll get there

Celerity is trash, Jerm1ah is goat.

I didn't have any intangibility. Not sure what else I could do to counteract it, fairly new to this.
- Dont go for the easy choice
- Debuff are STRONG. Applying weak makes a HUGE difference
- Thunder orbs are highly overated, Dark are always better
- Take your time
>Always pick up defense as long as you keep getting hurt in battle OR you never do any damage in battle. Then start picking attack cards
>Rares are not always good, most of the time really circonstancial
- beware of meme cards
- potions are good
- keep an eye on your relics, most importantly those "10th attack will double damage" and stuff
- never use a card to draw ONE, it's useless. draw TWO or dont
more cards = bad
seriously the lower you can keep your card count the better, even remove basic cards at the cleric and shop. This is the only start tip you really need, the rest of the game is about learning good card combos for your deck.
- Card Draw is super valuable and not to be underestimated
unless you get that snail cunt Time Eater as the act 3 boss then you are 100% fucked
List me some objectively bad cards.
Bullseye.
Grand Finale.
I didn't even know it was possible to hit zero in the draw pile. I always thought as soon as you hit zero, the discard pile rotated.
I finally end up beating A20 and am trying to do a minimalist run and I have never felt the RNG more than right now. Figure ironclad was probably the best choice, just do some dropkick shenanigans for OTK too but it NEVER FUCKING DROPS.
Just had a fucking godlike run with top and marbles and fucking all the card removals and shit I fucking need and hit 4 or 5 shops. No fucking dropkick. Holy fucking shit, I've probably wasted 7+ hours already on runs just trying to get a cool run going but it never happens.
How the fuck do achievement hunters stand this? Weaponized autism is a terrifying beast.
it only cycles when you have to draw, so it's possible but annoyingly difficult

every class has extreme blocking cards and you are given the oportunity to know exactly when he's going to attack so you can, with reasonable chance it will fail, wait until the turn before you expect to draw them.
you could also wait to trigger him and try to scale as much as possible which is going to help.
>Get three Heavy Blades
>Get Limit Break
>Absolutely no Flex, Demon Forms, Spot Weakness or Inflame to be found
This bitch fucks me up so often. If I don't have a decent hand round 1 to clear daggers I just get assfucked.
Biased Cognition can be cute if you can generate Artifact, but like so many combo interactions it's not something to rely on.
Endless Agony is cute in a Wrist Blade run until you realize it's blocking Cloak and Dagger draws I guess
My personal bane is the Centurion and his heal slut. Fuck that fight in the ass because I have a tendency to go for hyper defence builds, so I'm just sitting there for ages whittling them down while Cent armors both of them to 15 and the slut heals for 16 or whatever it is.
wow i almost took the bait. good job user, you almost got me.
congrats user. you built your strength deck from the roof down.
defend them i dare you
Guy is arrogant as hell, I can't stand him.
>bite the bait i dare you
the less cards you have the better
always go for the elites
Elites>Campfires>Events>Merchants>Monsters
Upgraded Body Slam is the best card for Ironclad.
>Ironclad
Avoid strength cards for the most part unless they're the power and doubler card
Huge decks can be really nice because he has a few powerful cards that put ailments into your drawpile
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE DOUBLE STRIKE AND BOOMERANG SWORD
>Huntress
Spam poisons and go for crazy fucking block with agility power cards
Replace your staring relic if whalemer gives you the option, it's usually a lot better than 2 extra draws on turn one
Use and abuse your draw and discard mechanics
Easiest class to cheese with by far
>Defect
Pray to Jesus that you get that one lighting power card (you know the one) early
Dark orbs can get really fucking crazy with doublecast
Can benefit best of all classes with a small deck if you pick up good orb card early.
That rare card that boosts and then drains your focus can completely secure otherwise unsinkable encounters if used correctly.
Almost always pick 1hp encounters to start. Unless maybe getting to pick a rare card
Praise God Emperor Lizard Tail
Smoke bomb is unironically the best potion
Apparition event feels like cheating, that shit is so good for anything that isn't the heart.
Just breeze through shit.
Vampires
Y/N ?
I like it a lot. I almost always pick it when I see it.
>when you get the mystery room that gives you 5 Apparition cards
Double Energy is pretty good
more so on silent, less so on ironclad, but largely depends on whether you've already removed several strikes or not
big wew
HOW THE FUCK DO I PLAY SILENT
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Wrong pic
Man this job has some bad advice
Can't you fucks just go back to repeating everything that jorbs says?
marisa is fun
How does he fuck this one up?
I finally fucking did it, I finally won a basic run.
Granted, the game threw FOUR Glaciers at me along with two Electrodynamics. I'd have been fucking embarrassed for sure if I lost with this.
KILL MORE ELITES HOLY FUCK
But literally that's how I keep dying, the Elites just overpower me before my cards are even doing anything. I finally took note of where they were on the map, ignored them, and I won.
What are the best modifiers for Custom Mode? My last run ended up being too easy with Hoarder + Insanity + Mind Blast
this is correct if you wanna win but also low t
also a lot of the time act 2 elites are less dangerous than the normal enemies because things like chosen and snake plant are overtuned as fuck
There's no way is that correct if you want to win. Farming elites is important.
Favourite decks for each class?
>Ironclad
Evolve deck
>Silent
Catalyst abuse
>Defect
Zaplord
Predator into a Bullet Time turn makes for some fun on a bun, user.
Watch good streamers (northernlion), form a general tier list and extrapolate it for card quality assessment(some cards are shit before upgrade and great after). Build around archetipes. In general when beginning keep deck size low.Every edge you get takes you so much further, every mistake will punish you greatly. At the end there is still variance, it is your job to mitigate it while accepting that some runs are doomed early. Don't get too frustrated. You can do it bro I believe in you!
>good streamers (northernlion)
if youre the silent i guess
the other two have plenty of pretty hardline wincons in just their card selection, and he did the proper "farm act 1 elites, then just focus on campfires" thing
its definitely less risky its just less fun overall, especially once you know how to pick cards specifically to deal with elites in each act
>have enough block cards and synergy
>be practically invincible
>no good attack cards
>battles go on forever
this is why you buy letter opener
He is competent at the game and he explains his decisions extensively. You are free to offer suggestions, but sonething tells me you'd prefer not to be constructive.
>lad
searing blow
>waifu
discard cycle
>robit
orbspam
i like drawing cards and making the big damages
Ironchad is fun.
>Ironclad
Strength stacking
>Silent
None because the Silent fucking sucks ass
>Defect
Power spam roller coaster (or all for one claws)
How?
Math
Poison, Shiv, and Cycling are all viable for Silent, though cycling gets fucked by Time Eater
It's in the options
All of them. I have literally all mods installed (except that Chinese Isaac mod, it's broken), and they work fine. Touhou mods are my favorite, even though I'm not familiar with Touhou at all.
Limit Break+ and other strength cards. Shit is fun, yo.
