No co-op invitations. It's dynamic matching. Something like Journey. Bloody Palace might have co-op, but that's a month out.

No, it will prioritize your friend list, but the game is mostly random. We are hoping that Bloody Palace will have a more fleshed out co-op. Also it seems like there are only 2 missions where you actually fight together and don't just see the other person. Mission 7 and 13. 7 Is Nero and V only, while 13 is all 3

Devil May Cry 1 - Best one ever. Perfect combination of action & Resident Evil shit but for adhd kids who were too brainlet for Resident Evil like me. Great length and areas. One of my top favorite games of all time.

Devil May Cry 2 - Never even played it because everyone said it was so fucking shit and not even worth playing just to see how bad it is. I remember my friend had it and he literally wouldn't even let me play it to see how shitty it was.

Devil May Cry 3 - Played it years later after 4 came out and didn't get that far in it because I lost motivation to play. I think around one of the first boss fights where you fight 2 statue guards that were brothers or some shit.

Devil May Cry 4 - Pretty mediocre, definitely should have had a year or 2 more of development so you didn't have to play the fucking game twice. I was really disappointed with that. Other than that, I remember it being relatively easy because of Nero's devil arm, but still pretty fun. Just could have been so much better, though, so it's just disappointing. Also the first time I saw Lady who is cute!

DmC - Doesn't exist.

Haven't played played the DMC 5 demo yet and probably won't, just gonna wait to see what people say when it comes out.

My dream Devil May Cry game would be one where Mundus returns for epin revenge and Dante's son goes to some spooky haunted castle on an island like the first game, though. Just because at the end of Devil May Cry 1 Mundus is all like "I'll be back" and Dante is like "Say hi to my son, will ya!" or something like that. So that would be cool if it actually happened and the setting of the 1st one is my favorite. Then Dante's son could learn shit about his uncle and other family members or whatever like the first one, I don't fucking know. I think Dante should fug Lady because she doesn't look like his own fuckin mom and they should also bring back the lava spider that sounds like a faggot.

Itsuno wanted the game to remain balanced for a challenging single player experience. It was put in to motivate people to play better. That said, with the tech in place, a lot of people are suspecting that co-op integration is the reason BP is being delayed because it's a lot of work for a feature that only shows up in certain parts of certain missions.

Give it a shot. It's not bad because it's unplayable mess or anything. It's bad because it's boring. The story and characters give you no motivation, enemies are weak and passive, you can kill everything with your guns because you're super overpowered. It's just kind of a chore to play. I will say that if you beat the game once, beat it again on Hard. You'll unlock Trish, who plays like DMC1 Dante, and is actually fun to use on DMD difficulty. Most people don't get far enough to experience DMD Trish, but it's a good time.

Soundtrack makes it sound like he is the final boss, though. "The Duel." I've spent a lot of time looking at the track titles, but I can't really get a good picture of how the end is going to play out. ReBirth has to be when he appears, Sword Fight is probably a cutscene track, or maybe a preliminary battle with him. Then there's all those tracks that sound like battle themes for Griffon, Shadow, and Nightmare, then Farewell. And then it looks like you're into the end game.

Nope, it did happen. The whole point of 'Beyond the Nightmare' is to integrate the DMC timeline so everything makes sense. They haven't gone far enough to truly describe things but I think they're going to tweak Gilver to be Vergil after he's been controlled by Mundus or alterantively taking place before DMC3 and replacing the manga; which seems far more likely considering how unknown the manga is and how it doesn't really amount to much.

I played 3 all the way through. Only got 1/4 of the way through DMC4. Is there a lore vid or wiki you guys recommend to catch me up?

does anyone else still struggle with directional attacks/dodges? i've put hundreds of hours into these games over the years and stuff like calibur/shuggle still gives me trouble unless the camera is directly behind me

I’m nowhere near calling myself good at these games but they fuck me up a lot of the time since It’s like fighting games where it’s whatever direction Nero’s facing changes your input direction and I just forget sometimes

It's honestly a fucked input system considering the camera fucks its own ass constantly and there's no way to properly gauge what "forward and back" is sometimes. Re-center the camera maybe to help but even then.
