You guys are more annoying, to be honest.
Fuck inkling cuck
At least he picks a character from a game he actually likes instead of just playing epic anime swordsman
>tfw 4.024 GSP with inkling
stay mad, swordies
90% of Inkling players aren't that big into Splatoon or the character. Just tier whores.
>fast lightweights with good frame data bullying fast lightweights with good frame data
I actually really enjoy the splatoon series, that's why I'm maining inkling in smash. The fact that inkling is good in smash just gives me more reasons to main them
>Ridley main
>Try to fight an Inkling, swordie, Young Link, Peach/Daisy, Pichu/Pikachu.
>Rage entire match even if I win.
Gee it sure is fun that that's all I see in quick play.
honestly every quickplay match makes me rage like hell, most of everyone playing is so fucking terrible that anything less than a 3stock finish is an embarrassment but Its always either some shitty gimmick ruleset, me playing some shitty character or getting fucked with a bad matchup
>decide to stop playing Quickplay because of cancer
>go to arenas for FFA fun
>win two matches
>Arena has been shut down
>do this five more times in other arenas
>a connection error has occured/arena has been shut down
thats why you have to make your own arenas
This
I wish I could say the same. I'm not amazing or anything but I feel like I can do ok against characters that don't feel cheap. I know this is subjective and I can't really explain it well. I do know landing a hit and being punished for it sucks, Palutena twirling her dick around like twelve times in a row is hell, Young Link having so much shit on screen that launches you into the stratosphere makes me want to rip my dick off.
I don't get why people say Cloud and Bayo are shit now. They kick my ass still. Yes I know Cloud can be gimped but he's got good strength and reach so I feel like anything I do just gets me punished even if as I said I land a hit. I have the most fun against people and characters where the match feels equal, yet these sadly are far and few between.
>Start arena
>Lobby is full within 15 minutes
>Yoshihomo fights me
>All they do is run, throw eggs, and fair.
>They miss every fair
>The bastard nearly times me out, but I won in the end
>Find out that the match made everyone else in the lobby leave
Why is every Yoshi like this? He has so many tools and is capable of so much, but every quickplay/lobby Yoshi is content with this same Hbox-tier play style. I hate all of them.
Arenas are a nice idea but what makes them annoying is if you get a match in and lose you gotta wait forever for the next game if you happen to not constantly win. Sure quick play can be full of shit but at least you're getting in and out of matches consistently. I'd like to play some with Yea Forums or /vg/ but since I'm not an amazing god at Smash I end up waiting most of the time. Which isn't that great for trying to improve either since you're not playing.
Cloud is still good just not busted anymore.
Im waiting for the eventual Octoling Echo characters. They really should have let Inkling players port their gear over from Spla2n given the Amiibo functionality
That would be a good amount of work just for one character though.
you mean bustered?
>play ssbu online
>pick k rool
>get put against an epic anime swordsman main
>make him shit himself into counter spamming
I don't fight Yoshi much but that does sound awful.
>Thinking you have any right to complain as an inkling player
Swordies are way worse that Inkling though, Inkling actually has a weakness unlike Lucina who does everything better than everyone else, they also can't steal wins spamming one move like Ike players.
I don't believe anyone in Ultimate is necessarily OP, but Yoshi is the one true unga bunga character on the roster. Shitters can complain about swordies and spacies all they want, but Yoshi can recklessly throw out any move he wants with zero repercussions and move away from you with just one jump. I wish I knew how to fight him, I really do.
Anyone else need a certain alt to be able to do well?
Injust use any purple alt desu
Yoshi doesn't have the range other character's do, his moves are fast but outside of something like fair and maybe a few of his tail moves you can keep him out with disjoints. Wolf is basically Yoshi with range since all his big claw moves are disjoints and he hits just as hard while being faster, him and Ike are peak bunga.
It would be but I am a greedy user who needs more.
>Want to use Meta-Ridley at all times.
>Game decides fuck you have default.
It hasn't happened in a while so I'm guessing they fixed the game changing it for no reason?
LOLwut? Inkling was day 1 noob bait like Krool. Neither are considered top tier anymore. Inkling is still good, but top tier no way.
I have a lot of experience with Wolf, he's by far my most played character. Let me tell you how to kick his ass, step by step.
1. It's entirely true that most Wolf mains are fags/shitters who will spam laser the whole time, so get good at parrying. Parry every blast at the start of the match until he comes to you.
2. Wait for one single mistake, that's all you need.
3. Combo the fuck out of him. He might be intimidating, but you NEED to get aggressive to win against Wolf.
4. Get him off stage, however you fucking can. Watch out for Wolf Flash while edge guarding and you should be okay.
>Watch out for Wolf Flash while edge guarding
>tfw I never respect it like I should
Inkling is considered one of the, if not the best in the game you absolute retard
She's not the best but she's definitely high tier.
>play ssbu
>don't really like how my old mains play
>can't find a character I really want to call a main despite playing every game since 64
>start realizing I don't really like any of them or a series in the game I really like
>don't think I even really like Smash outside of playing with friends
This is why I stop playing for long periods
She was when the game first came out and then everyone realized she can't kill for shit, not the one and only person in the entire world getting results with her are Cosmos, meanwhile Wolf is everywhere, Olimar is everywhere, Palutena, Peach and Ike are extremely strong and it's up between Lucina and Pichu for the best in the game.
Inkling is like 10th best at this point and the results prove it.
Then why aren't we seeing more results? Outside of Cosmos no one is winning anything with Inkling. If you're talking about random Elite smashers fucking your shit up then git gud and learn the matchup.
t. Inkling main
Respecting Wolf Flash is key to beating Wolf. Remember the angle it hits, and remember this. Most Wolf mains don't understand mix ups at all, so they'll use it every time as a get up option. And I mean every fucking time.
i miss melee luigi
vanilla sf4 sagat never won a single major tournament but was still by far the best character in the game
Why are Fire Emblem characters even in the game? Same with Kid Icarus characters. Fuck Cloud.
What does that have to do with Inkling? Only one person is playing her well, meanwhile there are a number of characters that are considered better and are getting better results, there were two Olimar mains in top 8 at frostbite.
facing an Inkling with my Duck Hunt is such a fucking slog.
Cloud is still good but Bayo is astronomically worse than she was before. She can't really kill, and she doesn't have many strengths aside from combos and edgeguarding either. You can pull off some silly shit with her but overall she's really bad
>its a sword fight faggot who spams counter
they really went all in on these diverse movesets on these dudes
>TFW when you main Wario
>Can counter anyone
>Timer for kill move
Feels good mang them hands that head that weight that speed. I love the man
>take Luigi's Smash 4 Down B and give it to Doc
>gimp his recovery even more
Who/What is everyone's mains and GSP?
It means that results don't correlate directly to strength.
you sound like some kinda cool guy, pls be my bf
This isn't really a valid argument when it applies to Inkling though, you might as well say Luigi is secretly SS tier even though only Elegant is playing him you could definitely apply it to ICs though. Inkling is most likely going to start falling down the tier list as people figure out how to deal with her bair in neutral and stop falling for roller setups.
None of the Fire Emblems sans Robin do anything besides have good damage and reach, saying they do everything better than everyone else is retarded.
The Belmonts are the most annoying characters ever created. Don't even care what people say.
post tits
Arenas are a neat idea but I don’t want to play “wait in a line simulator”
Lucina
>out speeds slow zoner characters
>out ranges fast brawler characters
>has the frame data to keep up with just about everyone in the game
>has amazing OOS options
>has the fastest forward smash in the game
>can zone, can rushdown, can juggle
>has a great recovery with I-frames and a huge sweetspot
>is probably the easiest character in the game to play
Why does everyone seem to suck online, even in elite, when everyone is playing high-top tier characters?
>Robin's Arcfire can't touch the ground in most instances where he uses it in midair, has limited uses
>Mii Gunner's can under most standard jump heights, making it a great pressure tool
Trying to use them both, but I don't quite get how I'm supposed to make use of Robin's Arcfire at all. Is it exclusive to ledgeguarding?
Scrubby tactics carry them
Snake can have three smash attacks going at once.
wooooooooow
no one cares nigger
>using Male inkling alts
Faggot
Kek
How?
up smash, up smash, down smash.
Up Smash
Doc’s isn’t even as good as Smash 4 Luigi’s. It works more like it originally did in Smash 4 than it does to Smash 4 Luigi.
>play bowser
>fuck them with neaty fairs and grounded up b's
>sideb and downb great for shield spamming
>neutral b great for people trying to space
>play someone else
>realize these have all been crutches and now the highest I can get is 3.2-3.5
Started from the bottom now we still at the bottom
Oh right, I forgot how long that grenade can hang in the air.
I just miss my mashing recovery
Not to be rude, but how do people not get into elite?
You'll get better with other guys. Just gotta practice.
A lot of people on Yea Forums are unironically garbage at Smash Bros, never go to locals and blame others for their losses, that's why it's a terrible idea to listen to this board for balance advice since the majority of people here would go 0-2 in a tournament then bitch about the character they lost to.
Who here is a real patrician who mains pic related
I am in elite with Bowser. He's just a crutch character that made me neglect my fundamentals.
I'm thinking about using him but his horrible airgame deters me.
>decently OKish with Belmonts and Bowser
>want an off-main to help against rush down characters and fast fucks like Pikachu
>try Meta-Knight, Snake, Ike, Marth, Pokemon Trainer, Ganondorf, Plant
>shit with all of them
>wolf tries to side b to the ledge
>marth / lucina / shulk /cloud up b but it skips the ledge and puts them on stage
>charging a smash attack knowingly
is there anything better than this
I love por though
Playing Fox vs her is suffering. I would rather go someone like DK even though long-term it's a worse MU, but neutral vs Lucina is fucking STUPID.
>most of them just fade aerials
>ftilt covers both in front and jump ins that aren't retard high
>nair is stupidly long-range poke
>Fox is lighter than a fart in a jar
>their recovery has INVINCIBLE STARTUP with means it's risky AF to edgeguard
I know Fox is mad good, but man it's such a stupid MU. At least pichu can use jolts to force something. Laser is okay but extremely risky.
At least you realize it. The worst with him are being able to ignore jabs and his ftilt beats everything but retard disjoints
Baiting a counter spamming faggot with a smash attack.
Someone taunting to your bodying. 100%. Especially if it's on game 1 and they leave in shame.
When fighting swordies I just wait for them to do a rising fair and punish since it has a decent amount of endlag while still in the air, I main Inkling though so I can spam a shitton of bombs too, I don't really know what Fox can do against Lucina, maybe a bunch of landing nairs?
>>their recovery has INVINCIBLE STARTUP with means it's risky AF to edgeguard
I hate this so much.
>move is lighting fast and the disjoint is massive
>it's actually more risky to go offstage to stop her because her up b gets her easy stage spikes
This
Tell me how to beat Pichu, Yea Forums.
He’s hard to hit say just keep dodging
He’s likely to spam short hop up n-air so time your dash attacks
Not to mention use your down tilt
Playing as a girl when you’re a guy is gay because trans meme
They have to overextend. Honestly neutral would end up as maaaaaybe 50/50 since Fox is a fast little fucker but he dies to stray hits (whereas he can't really kill easily. It may seem like it, but he really can't, especially on a character he can't just run in on easily) and can be edgeguarded while she really can't be. It's probably 60:40 Lucina at worst, but it's an EXTREMELY annoying MU since she can just play normally and Fox has to play very carefully.
Also: Fuck being able to buffer dodges upon landing. People crutch on that shit at all levels of play wayyyy too much
you get used to it. While he does need to get buffed, his ground game def makes up for his lack of air game. Imagine him like a light weight ganon. A few proper hits from him can absolutely destroy enemies but due to his lack of air game, he has a high skill cap despite the UNGA BUNGA ME MAC MAIN memes. KO punch can also knock out enemies at around 25-40% depending on their weight class. All in all, he is a fun character to play
Find out how your character can deal with jolt approaches and out-neutral him. Learn your kill %s and don't let him live too long. That's about all you can do with most characters. Understanding/limiting his approach is key though, since he punishes so hard
What's a character that is fun to use but not braindead?
Fox, DK, Shulk, WFT
None of them
WFT is my main. How hard is it to learn to use Shulk effectively?
DK. imo the most satisfying move in this game is any one of his spikes performed properly
>a big change in the jump to Ultimate was that characters can no longer run through each other
>this applies to moving attacks like dashes and certain specials
>no one, not even high level players have bothered to call out Wolf on his bullshit
>his dash goes right through people, even when they're shielding
>even fucking DK slows to a halt
what a load of shit
Easy base level, difficult top level. Besides some quickswap arts techs (which honestly aren't that bad), it's more about making good judgment calls on invoking the arts at all since they come with downsides that can totally fuck you. If you are interested in Shulk, let me give you a few tips to fasttrack you. You can look up arts videos yourself, as there are some great ones.
>nair hits behind you at the end and so you can do it backwards approaching or catch roll behinds facing forward (think old Ike nair from smash 4)
>fair hits below edge at the end and is super fucking good for this reason
>buster + downsmash = broken shield
>utilt is godly at stuffing jumpins and pressures well on platforms
>backslash can snap to ledge at specific heights and is great at the start of a match vs a character like Wolf who is likely to predictably laser. If they dash back they even take the strong hit
His greatest weakness is actually his recovery more than anything else. Work on it. Work on knowing when you need to switch to jump or speed, how to sweetspot, when to use the doublehit, when to delay the second hit for more horizontal distance, etc.
His dash can go through people?
I don’t understand people who act like this. Find a way around what they’re doing, otherwise you lost because you weren’t good enough, that’s all there is to it. Seek to fix your own behavior before blaming an outside source.
Louie G
Thanks for all the tips. I'm looking to get good with any character besides WFT since I feel like a cripple whenever I'm not using her. I'll definitely give Shulk a go.
Wolf and Incineroar's dashes breeze right past shielding players. Wolf's goes through more reliably, but Incineroar can get through with good timing.
>people are still mad about squidkids
It's been three months git fucking gud already holy shit
People don't want to blame themselves for their losses and instantly seek to bring down others to their level by screaming for nerfs, this is why people were like NERF K ROOL, NERF SIMON, NERF INKLING when the game came out.
This shitter mentality sucks ass because then when it comes to the things that are actually overpowered (Olimar's frame data, Wolf's general kit and Ike's nair) its impossible to distinguish the valid complaints from the ones of shitters.
>implying fans of an incredibly casual game can git gud instead of complaining
Its good to pressure retards with. I throw it out to get a charge going on my arcthunder or to force them into a dodge not to land in it. If they come at you like a fucking spidermonkey with fairs you can let one off in their face, if there the right distance away you can hit them twice in a row as well. If it holds long enough to blast them its at least a hit or two of juggle, if you get good enough with it you can peg them midair with it before they recover from the first and keep it going.
