Apparently the music is in licensing hell or something
also the game sucks balls
Is it b/c on Xbone?
No
No

>Sega turned it down
Cause Sega has their own game in development
I mean, I may see where SEGA is coming from.
That doesn't look like any kind of evolution besides better graphics.
SEGA would, and could improve on JSR's formula while still keeping the core gameplay in tact. I don't think anybody would complain if the game was faster, character movements were more fluid and you really could trek around the city like Spider-Man stuck to roller skates.
because the gameplay sucks ass. the only redeeming quality was ever the OST.
Your mom sucks mah balls.
Any game that has a real music soundtrack always has licensing problems with remasters
Plus a game centered around rollerblading and spray painting isn't exciting enough for kids now

Ended up just listening to the ost instead of making mixes with it last ravedj thread
>That doesn't look like any kind of evolution besides better graphics.
It was made in a week, they wanted to make a gameplay demo if sega showed interest
The world needs more Gum art
look at this guy
SEGA is retarded and will never ever make a good decision unless they fail a bunch of times and piss their fans off for literal decades. Yakuza being held hostage, Sonic not getting a good 2D game until Mania, and Shenmue 1 and 2 only coming out now that 3 proved to be a successful Kickstarter are all proof of that. JSR only has 2 games and people are not vocal enough about it. Probably never gonna happen because SEGA is fucking retarded, has no clue what to do with their IPs, and is probably the most inept big game company right now
Use Hideki he has toons of work to use, like Sonic Rush one. Add other songs if they allow later through a patch
It works on the 360 though
Show them the bits where the military is hunting the kids down, and more should be add in 3rd game. Also, online fights, be speed, or how fast you can tag, or who is the that survive in this battle royal. Allow CaC to be an option, create your own gang and use them in this online modes be 1 on 1, or tag from 3 to 5
>people are not vocal enough about it.
Sega made a poll on what franchises people want revived and JSR won
Great that it won-- hope you're excited for a new Streets of Rage instead
Even with all the feedback people are giving them SEGA still does not understand.
Understand.
New Panzer Dragoon when?
Sega has rejected at least 3 different pitches for JSR sequels, shit the reason we have House of the Dead Overkill was because Sega rejected Headstrong Games JSR game pitch but still wanted them to work on Sega IPs
you suck balls all day just because you like it so much
Sounds like you never played it and maybe just played the first one.
Essentially, yeah. The label that managed the game's OST went under and now Sega doesn't have access to all those songs anymore. It's why the re-release of the original JSR only included 70% of the original soundtrack.
AND TOGETHER WE SHOW YOU HOW TO IMPROVISE
The concept of love
Put it on Switch
What are you talking about?
Only one track is missing.
On a side note, if you want to play JSR with all the songs and everything possible, get De La Jet Set Radio, a Japan Exclusive Sega Store Only version of the game that came right when the Dreamcast was getting discontinued.
The game is still in English
Who even holds the rights to the music if the label is gone anyway? What legal gymnastics does one need to do?
Best girl
Uhhh that's not Cube
Make a new ost, and include the music changing mechanic of the original(but this time, stored to an .ini file) EVERYBODY and their grandmother already has the Jet Set Radio OST anyway, it's just a matter of making a minimod and dragdropping the files.
Good taste.
I wanna meet the contraiant that genuinely pick piranha.
The fight is alway gum, mew, cube. No one ever brings up the missing link.
I remember throwing the game in my 360 and it running like fucking dogshit
maybe it's always run like fucking dogshit and I just didn't know, only ever had JSR on Dreamcast and never got a copy of JSRF until several years later
my copy of JSR was also royally fucked, it would literally freeze and crash after finishing one of the characters' challenges, either Garam or Mew, so I can't even finish it without tracking down another copy or burning an inferior one for myself
For the record, Jet Set Radio HD sold incredibility well across the board, and was apparently in the top 10 paid apps on mobile for quite some time. I was hoping that success would show SEGA that there's interest.. If I recall, Atlus was also interested in doing something with SEGA IPs and mentioned JSR as an example years ago, too.
Just have the ported Soundtrack be other Naganuma tracks Sega made like his Yakuza or Sonic Rush work then make it cospiciously easy to mod back in the original sound track.
its the port the emulation was fucked up so the dragon level would lag like hell
I figured as much
I bricked my Xbox after softmodding it several years ago so I guess the shitty b/c is my best option short of tracking down another OG Xbox
does it run like shit in a couple specific areas making it worth toughing it out for? or is it all bad across the board
real recognize real, folks
jazz never seems to get any love either, damn shame
same deal with the original jet grind radio. a lot of tracks got replaced in the remake that you won't find in the dreamcast version.
I'd suggest having his Ollie King OST in JSRF remastered, since it fits better in the JSRF world. However, Naganuma isn't with SEGA anymore, and they're very adamant about not hiring people they've let go in the past. He did the necessary edits to JSRHD for the fans, and I'm sure he'd do the same for a JSRF HD and/or JSR3, but I'm not sure SEGA is willing to play ball.
It also doesn't help that they lost the source code to a ton of games since their last HD ports.
It's perfectly emulated now right?
no idea, cxbx-r hasn't been updated in a while
there are videos that show some good progress though
i joined this thread to be alone
apparently it's beatable but it's far from perfect
YOU FUCK MAN ASS
Cause it wasnt on a playstation probably. Sony has re released dozens of classics from the ps1 and ps2. Theres still plenty more, sure, but xbox games that aren't halo just dont get the same love, Microsoft doesnt give a shit about niche fandoms, look at that shit they did to phantom dust on xbone, releasing a trailer right when they had fired the damn team making the sequel.
And people going at it like its segas fault, look at their phone games, they have no problem spamming their collection (including her set mind you) onto the Google store.
not perfect but it's playable if you can deal with a couple of graphical glitches and audio bugs.
>xbox original game
>perfectly emulated
I wish
only in the dragon level i think im not sure why maybe all the people it has to spawn they didnt put a distance or something in the port because even the levels that are like 10x larger than that one dont lag
Emulatable but not perfectly, sure
They can call him for a job like in Yakuza where he did some tracks
I have no clue what's giving people so much trouble on emulating the Xbox, to my knowledge the entire console basically runs on DirectX and has the guts of a mildly specialized PC
I don't know near as much about it as I know about some other notorious consoles' architecture but the fact that smilebit was renowned for their Xbox development solely as a result of their experience porting Sega's games to PC for the better part of a decade kind of confirms my personal suspicions
not a big fan of the aesthetic they went with personally
These things take time friend
From my understanding, there's two issues
1)Custom GPU from Nvidia that hasn't had its blueprints leaked and it's different from other models
2)Little interest. There's like 5 games exclusive to the OGBox anyone cares about preserving with JSRF being number 1.
Just cause its like a PC architecture doesn't mean its going to be easy, its hard for a pc to emulate another pc
SEGA are just incompetent at publishing games and using their ip to the fullest. They could make updated or improved versions of beloved classics for easy appeal, and they even have decent crossover potential. Splatoon x Jet Set Radio is so obvious that it hurts.
honestly true about the lack of games, I guess the fact that there's a Jaguar emulator built to emulate a single game led me to think that'd be the norm rather than the exception
any notable Xbox games that even come to mind outside of JSRF are either on PC or already remastered, and I don't think anyone's really chomping at the bit for Advent Rising or Blinx
good point
I love JSR, but this looks terrible. The logo design is amateurish and the environment and effects are way too dark. Putting a colored outline around stuff like they are in a team Smash Bros fight also takes away from the individual character design.
SEGA might be stupid, but they were correct to turn this down.
Maybe because its shit? The original trumps it in every way. Fucking xbox nostalgia fags deserve the rope
NEVER
FORGET
>we could be playing the third person halo alpha if it weren't for this faggot
meant to reply to this
I think the outline concept could be done in some pretty interesting ways, one of the most striking things about the artstyle in Bakemonogatari is how Shaft outlined everything in red instead of black
just reduce the size of the outline dramatically, make it glow off the character the teeniest bit, and I think it'd very cleanly outline the character and contextualize the action movement effects that come off of characters in the series already
maybe even make the glow pulse in time with the music or change colors with the stage or current environment, something like that
rez played around with ideas like that way back in the day, and JSR is pretty close behind Rez in terms of games being almost defined by their soundtracks so it would be fitting to the series' style to play around with something like that
maybe even do something crazy with the cel shading's tone and prominence in the space of a scene, Killer Is Dead did this to incredibly effective ends and it's the only game that I can think of that ever toyed with something like this
real ideas guy hours in heret
PLEASE GOD DON'T REMIND ME
I was planning on making some 3d lewd renders with Gum's all stars racing model but the texture was too low quality so I've been working on improving it for the last few days
I'm fairly new to blender but hopefully I can get something done with it
Kek
not a huge fan of the hyper-futuristic aesthetics with neon lights everywhere, I like that the original didn't go too far with that stuff
Mews dance is LAME!
all you fuckers better be jammin out to this
jetsetradio.live
Nice! Can't wait!
Every day
I hope the guy who run this, fix the single because it stop playing music after the 10th skip.
seriously this or similar. just strip down the soundtrack if that's what MS needs to do to get it on BC
Mainly been jamming to various Naganuma shit all day.
This "OG Xbox had no games" narrative needs to stop.
Name 10 that haven't been ported elsewhere worth a damn. I had one and enjoyed it but JSRF is about the only reason I care for an emulator.

If it's not possible to manufacture more of the controller, or to make it possible to use existing controllers on PC, I wouldn't mind a new VR edition of Steel Battalion.
