I just wanted the dpad
...
i disconnected the lightbar from my ds4 controller which actually gave my 1 more hour of battery.
Does that count?
I would commit murder for that 3DS.
That shell is probably like 12 bucks. Just go buy it.
I would customize my joycons to look like this, but holy shit am I too lazy to do all that extra shit.
I fucked my joycons up by changing their shells three times. All the glue came loose and the screw tops went flat so I cant even open them anymore. plus they rattle now
not my pic but my fucked up joycons have exactly the same shells on them
wish me luck
How difficult is this swap?
I broke the ribbon for the SL/SR and LEDs this way too
Had to buy chink replacements. They fucking suck
should be fine if i just take my time. hardest part is the board in the front shell and glued things
>screw tops went flat
...Do you mean you burred them? If so how the fuck did you manage that? A drill?
just trying to tighten them properly many times over. the screws are some shit quality metal too
heres your shitty Dpad
transparent shells are so tacky lmao grow up
ist the lightbar part of the "charging" board?
Post photos whem done. Interested on final result.
Is there internal plastic for the ND3DS that lets me change my faceplates?
EZPZ
Pro Controller is easy as fuck to open and swap.
Now I just need a SNES shell for the joycons and switch itself for aesthetic kino
>changing the original plastic to a low quality chink plastic that will scratch instantly with anything it touches
BRO WHY
fuck this part
seriously fuck that part, I thought I would break the flex because its almost imposible to get it in place
I dont know. I dont have a 3ds.
Looks mayne. That and it was to differentiate mine when I visited my friend's house.
That ribbon cable? I remember feeling nervous about it too, but it slides in and out really easily.
Makes it seem somewhat difficult with glued parts and such
Says it is very ez
Who is right?
>that slanted ass abxy
Would look good if it wasnt for that
You don't have to do anything with glued parts
youtu.be
I'm mildly upset that the X/Y buttons aren't concave myself
How do ypu like that 8bitdo controller? Been thinking about picking it up recently for 2d games. Even though im currently using the pokken controller and loving it, the lack of home and zl/zr kills it for most games.
Yes friend
It's treating me well thus far. Only gripe is you can't wake the system with it. Bugyat least there's versatility with Switch/Windows/Android.
>i fucked them up by being an idiot
Why the fuck did you change them 3 times? I changed mine once and will NEVER do it again.
KontrolFreek for Dualshock4
>Dude electronics lmao
I will never get the appeal of transparent shells past the age of 13.
bump. done soon
the inside of switch is ugly as fuck you wasted ya time.
Not exactly customized but white buttons look better on black.
struggled with that one tiny ribbon cable for an hour. works perfectly. wouldnt recommene if you dont have proper tools, i mainly did this just to distinguish my controller from my friends when going over
Custom consoles and controllers provide no tactical advantage.
I just have a Muramasa skin on mine
No but they look neat.
I think maybe a pair of tweezers could help for people who struggle with it
>No but they look neat.
Not really. Most of the ones in this thread look shit.
Well, that's how you feel, fair enough.
Metal sticks?
Yeah. Aluminum sticks are unexpectedly comfy.
>glue
Fucking hell were you thinking, Nintendo?
Anyone know where i can find this?
I put metal sticks on my Dualshock 3 because I was sick of the plastic on the stock ones grinding down. Unfortunately the metal tips weren't very comfortable, so I put rubber caps on them, and then it worked out fine.
there wasnt any glue, just some tape/sticky shit
I did the joycon mod for the d-pad and picked the atomic purple one because why not.
The result is shit, dont bother with those.
The plastic feels worse, the screws break easily and its all meh.
the screws that come with those cases are mega soft. I've never seen something with such shit quality.
Mine turned out good, but my kit didn't come with any screws so I used Nintendo's.
You might need Japanese cross heads instead of American.
Based
I like them quite a lot. After one controller, I also put aluminum sticks on second one.
Fuck even if i could buy the shell that would be nice
Oh, I also changed c-stick on my 3ds if it's counts.
I used to mix and match different colors on all of my N64 pads. Only have a pair of plain grey ones now, though.
Lurk more newfriends
what are the pros and cons of metal analog sticks?
pros: durable, look nice, different colors available
cons: slippery to some people
Is there actually a decent way to swap the shell on a 3dsxl?
Because the hinge on mine fucking snapped
i got it off eBay but it’s still super nice looking
1. Buy new shell on Ali/Ebay
2. Disassemble old one
3. Assemble new one
4. .....
5. Profit
I don't think there's some special trick. You just have to be decent with screwdriver.
Where’d you get these from user? Were they a decent price? I only see em for like upwards of $50
but why ?
I bought xbox elite sticks to put into my PS4 controller, but never got to install them since dualshock4 is a motherfucker to disassemble
...
