Yeah what now?

the special edition was dogshit though

In what way?

fuck off loser
it was the original with 3 more characters
what more do you want

the extra characters all sucked and Vergil's model was terrible

Still disappointed that the other playable characters didn't have their own campaign, but was the Nero/Dante story without cutscenes.

Not that Vergil didn't have his own campaign in 3, he certainly didn't. Though some effort should have been put into the extra characters.

yah was a pretty kino game
hopefully 5 will be great too

A good game for starters. Adding more characters into 4 didn’t fix anything, especially consider how unga vergil is

It's still good, but it would've surpassed 3 if Dante got his own levels&bosses while also bringing back his impactful attacks from 3. Bonus, if Vergil, Lady and Trish got their own mini campaigns (special edition could've done that, but shit) Just another reason why Capcom's autism and their way of rushing games during late 2000's had a negative impact.

They should've at least made 3-5 levels for Vergil, pretty much to make use of his OP abilities, alongside a new boss.

Grabbing bosses while using yamato is always a spectacle to behold. It's fun to watch Nero clobber the absolute shit out of bosses.

This is a port of at the time it came out an 7 year old game. They don't have the time to create entirely new levels on an old game. That's they took their development time for DMC5.

I've honestly, unironically, never understood the appeal of this game. I mean I guess it's fun for a few minutes but y'all are taking it overboard.

The first 10 missions did, the rest is garbage. Play a good DMC game like 1 or 3

I honestly see where they coming from. This game actually improves on the controls and combat. The levels are alot more open and there's alot more variety with the levels instead of the entire game taking place on a castle or a tower.

The only negatives I can think of is that the map system still kinda sucks, Nero takes like 80% of the game making Dante almost a pointless addition to the game.

I liked them. The real reason it sucked is cause they fix the boss rush. It should have been: Berial, Bael, Echidna, Credo Dante & Agnus all on the same board with you needing to beat four to proceed. Falling on the same spot gives health and Dante should also be selectable. Done. Simple but major.

The problems you have with it are likely fundamental problems with the game as a whole.

Level design is pretty shit and bland tho.
Variety I guess comes down to preference. This is the situation of Dark Souls 1 vs Dark Souls 2 level variety. DMC4 locations are different from one another, but don't make much sense structurally when progressing through the game, it's like frankenstein monster patchwork, which really turns me off.

That's okay. It was just a PS4 port anyway.

Level design is shit in every DMC game.
