Cold Winter

I hate this game, Black and Timesplitter were better than this. There's nothing special about Cold Winter except run and gun, loot, find item to solve puzzle

Why are you playing average console shooters and expecting masterpieces? No one has ever said that game was amazing just that it was competent enough to be a 6 or 7

some fools said it was amazing, then i give it a try
console shooter still had Black and Timesplitter, why couldn't it be masterpiece

Near enough the same. If H&S left a lasting dent in vidya it would be short slow (mundane in any other rpg game) scenarios leading to havoc. Should have just played Silent Storm and enjoyed the engine or JA2 for tacticool instead

If you like PS2 shooters OP, try Project Snowblind. It's mostly arse for the first third to half of it but it's also pretty short, and reaches level design/player mechanic highs at such oddly specific moments it's easy to get caught up and mistake it for a good game

Cold Winter is awesome. Mature story, excellent gore system, heaps of physics, and a rather cool crafting system.

You have really low standards if you consider Black and Timesplitters to be masterpieces.

I'm vaguely positive that Snowblind has direct ties with Deus Ex universe and/or development.

Now I actually want to play this.

kys

Snowblind was originally an Invisible War spinoff. Eidos demanded they remove all references to Deus Ex. Team did the bare minimum to comply. It was later made kinda-sorta canon by the Deus Ex mobile game.
TimeSplitters 2/3 are excellent games. I'm eagerly anticipating the inevitable remasters now that THQN has the rights.

how dare you? god i fukingg hate people like you

Out of curiosity, what's wrong with a game where you run, gun, loot shit, and find items to solve puzzles? It's that like the ENTIRE GAME FORMULA for modern Far Cry games?

it's so generic, nothing worth playing

Makes sense, MC unlocks powers through plot and it's all bionic (reaches levels Deus Ex doesn't though, you can effectively cast chain lightning by the end), even has a half arsed dynamic with an old-type npc and a reskinned UNATCO

Cold Winter is great you fucking plebe

One of the few games with HK G11

Nah it was pretty decent, Warren Ellis penned the story and Tom Baker Narrated/is one of the villains in it.

Was also pretty decent and enjoyable.

I was playing Black in 4k on my XXXboner and it just made me so incredibly sad for all these classic PS2 games that will never get the same treatment.

Its much better than a remaster that bulldozes all over the art of the original to make it look "better" in the eyes of senior quality assurance manager Steve.

>TimeSplitters 2/3 are excellent games
I like how TS1 doesn't get a mention and for good reason, early PS2 shooters were a mistake

is TS1 worth playing?

It's a pity Cold Winter is stuck on the PS2. I wish Nightdive or THQN would secure the rights and release it on PC.

From my experience singleplayer was a harsh disconnected map combo trial and error shitfest, mostly due to spawns and cheeky enemy placement. I think aiming defaulted to autoaim that wasn't always ideal, another prompt brought up proper control of the crosshair which moved so slow it was fooking useless

actual maps were fucking neato though

But it's gory.
