I really didin't like Ansem's model in DDD, but it took me until the HD port to really dislike it. The face and the jaw in particular lacks his unique shape in the other games
Even comparing PS2 original kh1 Ansem to the HD KH1 ansem, his they made his jaw bigger until it was fixed in CoM and then made bigger again in DDD

a realm of darkness shouldn't have any light in it right, why would there be light coming from both sides? Shouldn't it only be coming from the side that Sora and Ansem are from? And weren't they also just floating in darkness, how is there any light there?

The door at the end of KH1 leads to the heart of Destiny Islands. It was swallowed by darkness so that's why it is in the dark realm. Light comes out at first because that is what is in the heart of a world. After the door was opened though, heartless immediately started attacking it as the are drawn to great amounts of light. This is why when the door was closed, Destiny Islands was restored. It makes sense when you consider that in order to get there Mickey had to go through the door in the secret place, which is established in the first game to contain the heart of the world.
