Pokemon

>hurrr its an ice cream pogeyman!
>how about another literal GOD pokemon?

Will they ever purge this series of all the retarded bloat or is it forever doomed?

Believe it or not, some people love the retarded bloat. You can just ignore it, the series has something for everyone

objectmons existed since gen 1 but your nostalgia makes you believe that it was ok when gen 1 did it

>t.

Vanilluxe is based you tasteless cretin

Why yes, who wouldn't want to go on an adventure!

Attached: 1551318150680.png (1280x720, 620K)

just move on OP

if you're over 18(as you should be here) you are probably too old for pokemon anyways

but yeah the series has clearly got stale since Gen 3 thats when I grew out of it after, is really always the same game with some new doodles really

I like ice pokemon, so it is one of my favorites. I like Jynx and Mamoswine more, but I still have a place for Vanilluxe.

>I don't remember you complaining when I was 20lbs overweight, why are you complaining now that I'm 200lbs overweight?

False equivalency. While there are more objectmon, there are also more non-objectmon. And if your actual argument is just the sheer number of pokemon, then you legit have donkey brains.

I like the Vanillite line a lot more after discovering it's partly based on fast food mascots.

>tfw Loved the Vanilite and Trubbish lines
What is meant to be the issue with them, again?

>More of something you don't like? You must be dumb for not liking it!

Wow, I have been thoroughly rebuked.

I see a lot of people hate on the ice cream pokemon but since I'm related to the dude who invented soft-serve ice cream I can't help but like them

"I am the creator of the entire universe."
>gets captured by a kid with a ball capsule

People get really autistic over Pokemon based on objects.

>gen 5 is full of good designs, is smart enough not to fuck up the battle system with new bullshit mechanics and leave it mostly the same, has a great soundtrack, big postgame, and has arguably the best maingame of any gen in terms of pacing and story by making everything actually matter instead of feeling seperate
>normies hate it because it has ice cream and garbage pokemon

fuck

Attached: 1541118614234.jpg (720x745, 34K)

So you don't like Pokemon? Then why are you even discussing it?

desperately needs a reboot, but it won't come earlier than 2025, by which time it will have been too late

brainlet

Fuck you, Vanilluxe is great.

Also, Pokemon based on objects have been around since Gen 1. Unless I missed something and Magnemite and Grimer aren't magnets and sludge.

I'm on your side but you are embarassing pls stop

>8 generations in
>STILL NO EARLY GAME ICE TYPES

OH LOOK, ANOTHER LATE GAME ICE AREA, THANKS GAMEFREAK

it's not ice cream you fucking faggot

COPE AND SEETHINGPILLED

Attached: KANTOOOOOOOOOO.jpg (925x525, 241K)

I said you are dumb if your complaint is the sheer number of Pokémon. Then you implied that I was calling you dumb for not enjoying "more of something you don't like."
So you don't like Pokémon? Why make a thread about it?

>using game mechanics to downplay the power of a character
LOL
>Sonic isn't faster than sound because I can see him while he's running
>Kirby isn't even planet level because he can be hurt by apples

thats not me user, thats just someone who, regardless of what they think of my opinion, notices how retarded you are

>by which time it will have been too late
I'm still inclined to believe Pokemon holds a 'too big to fail' status. GF would have to release a truly broken game for things to go south for them.

Point still stands. Every generation induces a handful of objectmon, and like a vast majority of non-objectmon. If it wasn't a problem in previousgems, why is it a problem now?

>Vanilluxe is bad meme

You know why.

Attached: KANTOOOOOOOOOOOO.png (1400x800, 2.31M)

Why do people not get that Pokemon are supposed to be JRPG monsters like the ones from Dragon Quest and Mother, not just fantasy animals and dragons

That means slimes, mimics, all manner of strange ghosts, exploding rocks, even fucking wizards, which were all present in the very first game. And it goes even further when we factor in how Mother's eclectic and bizarre enemies were a huge inspiration on the game.

Attached: HXJf5sV.png (896x960, 224K)

that's a good point
Sinnoh has absolutely no excuse though

I think his point would be that it was a problem then and it is now, user. I don't actually think he's right, at least not necessarily, but I don't think he's said anything inconsistent.

Uh...

I'll stop being a Yea Forums autist for a second to try and reform your autism
You're acting like a pseud stating logical fallacies in a shit thread about Pokemon while failing to realize you are too autistic to see the point you are trying to criticize. If the analogy was about cyanide dosage, your per capita bullshit wouldn't mean anything. You are attacking an analogy in an irrelevant manner and then you pretend to not understand basic sentence structure for the sake of being smug

quit being a autistic pseud

If it wasn't a problem when ~5% o them were objectmon in gen 1, why is it a problem now. Can you answer that? You act like half of newer generations consist of them, but the percentage remains approximately the same.

>implying those are equivalent to an deity willingly serving a child.
Sonic still runs fast and kirby still strong.
Arceus may be powerful indeed, but he still someone's battle pet.

>LttP Ganon has the power of the full triforce, an object that makes any desire of its holder became reality, able to literally reshape the world to reflect the user's mind
>defeated by a random kid (literally no more than 14 or 15)

im sorry your parents vaccinated you user, there is nothing more i can do for you

>continues to avoid a straightforward answer
Based

>Criminal organization with advanced technology capable of capturing powerful legendaries and taking over an entire region
>jobs to a child

Attached: 1539214063247.png (657x637, 222K)

>Modern society that has advanced technology to a point they have made rockets
>Criminal organization doesn't think to just use guns instead of their shitty Ratatas

>Pokedex says it has a hundred arms
>Doesn't have 100 arms
Clearly its power is suppressed for whatever reason.

the objectmon in Kanto had neat designs to carry them or a sufficient amount of lore, and for the most part, were not based too heavily on one real world thing
Magnemite is nothing like Klink, a literal gear. It's a ball that has magnets.
Voltorb is theorized to be a haunted Pokeball.
Koffing is a moon-rockish air hazard, while trubbish is a literal bag of garbage
Kanto did it better.

Now, why would it be a problem? Because Pokemon was supposed to be about monstrous creatures that we could imagine to be flesh and blood (excepting Ghosts), which objectmons are not. Eventually, it also became about heavily basing the designs on myth, which objectmons almost always never are.

Never understood that.
>Oh no, you beat my Pokemon!
>Guess there's nothing left to do other than disband.

GameFreak still follows old outdated philosophies like Ice type being a broken class cannon type designed to one shot dragons.

this guy would like to ask you

Attached: 250px-707Klefki.png (250x250, 42K)

for me, it's MegaCharizard X

Attached: MetalGreymon_(Virus)_b.jpg (320x320, 76K)

>literally personal bias
Magnemite is no more or less egregious in its faults as an objectmon than Klink. It's a floating junk of metal with facial features. Grimer is just as unrealistic a candidate for being an actual creature as Trubbish. You are nostalgia blinded.

>Criminal organization known for stealing pokemon
>Steals the same shitmons instead of actually good pokemon from the wild.

Attached: 1487042251646 (2).jpg (670x671, 64K)

All shit compared to the objectmon of later gens

>it's another objectmon hate thread episode

Attached: L9MlEPw.jpg (807x659, 37K)

yeah people overlook shit like Muk a lot

Attached: Sukamon_b.jpg (320x320, 81K)

You're the biased one conflating one tiny dot eye with "facial features" when the OP exists

Attached: r - 1540447581775.png (250x272, 43K)

Kantofags will defend this

Attached: muk.jpg (900x457, 62K)

>Grimer is just as unrealistic a candidate for being an actual creature as Trubbish. You are nostalgia blinded.
Did you not read the last paragraph or are you actually retarded?

Attached: r - 1538214130845.png (645x729, 126K)

I like Muk though. Specially the Alola version.

Muk is awesome
Maybe if the concept of "Alola forms" wasn't so awful

How is creatures adapting new forms to fit a new environment an awful concept for a fantasy animal world? The worst thing you can say about regional forms is that they only used pokemon from a single generation- probably to try to balance out its awful type distribution of Gen1 a little.

Speaking of that, Turner put out some official illustrations for that.

Attached: Vanilluxe.jpg (2048x1086, 206K)

>How is creatures adapting new forms to fit a new environment an awful concept for a fantasy animal world?
it isn't, it's that GameFreak with the chosen term inexplicably linked it with Alola and created new forms exclusively for Kanto, not even retroactively applying the concept to Pokemon like Shellos-Gastrodon
Besides the fact that most forms were ridiculous and/or didn't make sense, like the Ice type changes, Dragon type Exeggutor, and cowabunga Dugtrio, which is now for some reason a Steel type

the majority of Turner's designs shouldn't be considered Pokemon
"gotcha!"-fags need not reply

Also, wasn't pic related first appeared in an old official artwork around tthe time of the first gen?

Attached: exeggutor_7c48.png (2600x2400, 715K)

Idk what the fuck a "gotcha" fag is but here's the other one. Just wanted to share some official art that hasn't been seen a lot, not argue about the quality of the man's designs.

Attached: vanillite.jpg (2048x1106, 131K)

>They went and made an entirely new type for fucking over dragons instead of just giving Ice some actual love

Correct.

Attached: Alola Exeggutor old.jpg (800x557, 183K)

I hated this on release but I would have been more accepting if, like he was saying, that these were marketed as adaptations that could happen to *any* Pokemon in *any* region, because how does this not make sense for a tropical region?

>the majority of Turner's designs shouldn't be considered Pokemon
If based Golurk is one of them, please kill youself.

Attached: golurk.gif (500x281, 975K)

this wasn't even true in Gen 1
hardly even in Gen 2
in fact, it didn't become true until Gen IV and Cryogonal, which no one ever talks about

I, too, liked the Iron Giant
The argument for it can go either way, but I'd side with calling it more legitimate than Bronzong and just as legit as Claydol.

I don't have a problem with all the new Pokemon, just the fucking lazy half assed ones. They're supposed to look like animals as objects, not literally car keys and ice cream cones

creatures is a more appropriate term
Gen 1 objectmons don't look like animals

I mean, obviously they just called them "Alolan Forms" because those ones are specifically from Alola. If they decide to revisit this idea again, and I kind of hope they do, they'll just call it forms.

I agree. Objects with smiles are just not as good as creatures based on objects

?

>godly design
>garbage stats
why

GF decided that Pele's Hair being glassy was enough to make Dugtrio a steel type.

It did well enough when it first released. It's just the the generation immediately after introduced Megas and power crept it into oblivion.

no, they need a general term
the current namescheme is inherently gimmicks

Regional variants? Isn't that what everyone calls them?

Is that what GameFreak calls them and promotes?

According to Bulbapedia

>A regional variant (Japanese: リージョンフォーム Region Form) is a species of Pokémon found in a specific region that takes on a different form than it does in most other regions

Don't know how official that is. I've always heard regional variant to describe Alolan forms
