The game itself and dialogue are still shit.

I really wish this game and Shadow the Hedgehog had a baby that kept the best elements of both. The levels and format of Heroes were nice while Shadow's game actually ironed out some of those basic gameplay flaws Heroes had (wall-jumping, rail-grinding, and light-dashing were MUCH better in Shadow).

The guys who made Unleashed and Generations are long gone and we're stuck with Pontaff forever, so never

I honestly dont see the problem that people have with heroes
once I year I hook my computer up to my sound system and blast that shit. what an amazing OST. youtube.com/watch?v=E9B9Fvr1ehw

Sonic heros is bad but only because of the controls
the story was kino but not as kino as sa2

Wrong image Zoomer

It's actually pretty subtle

I like it when both Team Rose and Team Sonic enter the final stage, they call reference to the Egg Carrier.

>I honestly dont see the problem that people have with heroes
>long as fuck levels
>"puzzles" and enemies with health bars that ruin pacing
>shitty type mechanics
>keys and special stages

I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE

Attached: Eggman.jpg (540x540, 36K)

heroes is fucking kino

>enemies with health bars that ruin pacing
I swear the enemies with health aren't nearly as bad as people make them out to be. There's a level-up system and virtually everything dies to either a lvl 3 Homing Attack or lvl 2 Thundershoot.

Name a more JUST game franchise than Sonic.

>the enemies with health aren't nearly as bad as people make them out to be. There's a level-up system and virtually everything dies to either a lvl 3 Homing Attack or lvl 2 Thundershoot.
That doesn't matter in later levels with stupidly large health bars and a single hit makes that key disappear.

Whoever invented Fly formation and expected the wobbly hitbox to work with landing on rails I hope you're fucking happy.

it was a good change of pace from SA and SA2.
They don't all have to be the same, the great set pieces and amazing music are more than enough to keep you going.
youtube.com/watch?v=EbOH1RvVv6k

When Sonic team dies in a fire and the guys who did Mania become the top devs for all sonic games

He earned so much goodwill from Colors-Generations, though.

lmao

Shit gimmick. Unleashed did it better.

>the great set pieces and amazing music are more than enough to keep you going.
They're really not when stages can last over 10 minutes each, it's incredibly easy to die, and you have to play through all of them 4 times.

Take off your rose tinted glasses boomers Sonic Heroes bad.
>Speed characters control like shit
>Enemies have health bars
>You need to "level up" to deal considerable damage
>Everything about the casino levels
>Most of the levels have pits coupled with the
slippery speed characters or power characters punching ensures that the average player will fall a lot
>Getting the chaos emerald is a chore, not to mention the special level controls like ass
>Terrible balancing in difficulties
>Team Chaotix Missions
>Team Sonic and Dark levels overstay their welcome
>Terrible voice acting and voice direction

Rayman. Unlike Sonic he literally has no bad games at all and get's completely sidelined.

Base Fly fucking blows
Sonic Wind is wonky as hell and it's easier to just use power formation most of the time with shielded enemies. Why the fuck couldn't they all work like Amy's?
Power characters get fucking crazy at level 3. Vector's level 3 combo is insane.
Basically ignore Fly for attacking until it's at least lvl 2.

Also those armored Eggrobos with the hammers have the worst fucking hitbox.

>Everything about the casino levels
ask me how I know you're retarded

The early rabbids games are still rayman games user

Just watched that video earlier today.

And he lost it all with lost world sonic boom and sonic forces.

They actually aren't even bad, just Wiimote minigame shit that's not really Rayman. Like, for real, they shit all over that cancer that was Secret Rings and Black Knight at doing the same shit.

Not him, but Rabbids 1 (the only one I played) was good

>pinball sections
>pitfalls everywhere
They're shit.

The first one was just ok, but the Wii balance board one was terrible, and I'd rather play black knight over either of those. Also do some of the shittier Rayman 2 ports count?

>Heroes
>Kino
Unlike brainlets that assume the downfall started with Shadow the Hedgehog, it's very obvious to pin the fall of Sonic RIGHT here, with heroes.

Levels repeated ad nauseum, pointless need for replayability, glitches out the ass, inability to go fast, fucking god awful bosses.

With zero irony, I think Shadow is better than Heroes.

>Rail Canyon
I loved heroes but jesus christ don't remind me of the wonky rail hitbox.

Attached: 1550959524395.jpg (200x289, 10K)

get good nigger

I always like the creative designs of the Egg fleet. Creatures of the sea turned into flying battleships are pretty neat.

> playing a game 4 times vs playing it 10 times
> 9 playthroughs are basically the same as chaotix missions
Look I don't like heroes either but shadow is still way worse

>move analogn stick ti switch rails like the game wants
Turn 90 degrees flying off the rails.

>get good at finnicky controls and hoping knockback from a stray attack doesn't send you to a kill zone
>irrelevant image

Oh no, no one is defending the glitchy ass pinball physics now are they? Fuck it this is definitely Bad Nostalgia Zone for Zoomers.

Attached: 1549475354410.jpg (613x531, 36K)

the only good points you have are the controls, everything else is cool the controls fucking cripple the game though

when sonic characters talk the only results are cringe. not "kino"

Imo, if I had to do something that low, I'd have to add Sonic Genesis which is nearly the worse Sonic game next to Labyrinth and 06.

>mfw damaged sonic collapses and shadow with a real ass gun flys to the screen
edge kino

Attached: VIOLENCE.png (1686x604, 501K)

>Shadow apologists
Fuck you, Shadow is slow, the spin dash is fucking useless and the levels are not even designed for speed the only speed you get is from automated sections or rails. Notice how I actually criticized it without resorting to talking about the missions? I want you Shadow apologists to realize your game is shit at its very core.

>SA2 and Heroes both have KINO MULTIPATHED HIGH IN THE SKY LEVELS LIKE FINAL RUSH AND EGG FLEET
>Shadow doesn't
SHADOW IS NOT KINO

/Thread
Heroes was fucking awful. Not that anything better came out until years later.

your mistake was having any pretension of taking it seriously in the first place
enjoy the cheese

>>SA2 and Heroes both have KINO MULTIPATHED HIGH IN THE SKY LEVELS LIKE FINAL RUSH AND EGG FLEET
>>Shadow doesn't
>literally has a level with SKY in the name
The game is bad but it isn't any worse than majority of the other shit and is brought up by how it maintains continuity.

Final Rush and Egg Fleet both instill a sense of vertigo in the player and have multiple pathways to choose from. Shadow's sky levels are all linear and the only one that has vertigo is Cosmic Fall and that level plays more like an autoscroller.

Sure but the track more than makes up for it.
youtube.com/watch?v=WNzji6UhYJY

Didn't instill any vertigo in me.

Cosmic Fall is a terrible level only because Shadow loses all momentum when he jumps. Gaps that could be cleared with ease in Sonic Adventure and SA2 result in deaths in Shadow the Hedgehog.
