You can tell KH3 was written backwards. Nomura knew he wanted the Keyblade Graveyard to be the scene of the final fight and a lot of loose ends to tie it up. It's why nothing gets done in the Disney Worlds since KH2's KH-centric plots were always in areas like Twilight Town or Radiant Garden which KH3 lacks, especially since the game is effectively the culmination of the KH story and as such, should have made heavier use of the game original worlds rather than Disney
>Had the absolute most perfect and most beautiful ending in the history of video games >Last 5 seconds ruins it completely What in the fuck were you thinking Nomura FUCK
How is that ruined? We all know Sora died to revive Kairi so anyone who expected him to live was either skipping scenes or chose to ignore Young Xehanort.
Thomas Rogers
Because it was the biggest fuck you to Sora. He literally saves everybody and Nomura kills him off for no goddamn reason
Ryder Nguyen
Sora is a massive faggot. He's told multiple times by multiple people that he's using the power of waking incorrectly and doing so will fucking kill him and he just like "shut up I do what I want" and ends up dying like the retard he is.
Aiden Adams
YOUR TIME, IN THIS WORLD IS
Ethan Harris
This is basically every KH game though. The disney worlds have always been filler. With little snippets of an overarching story. Then in the OC worlds is where everything takes place. The KH series isn't close to perfect. I do think it's weird though how 3 is criticized so heavily for the exact same things every other game did.
Luis Morris
i loved the last 3 hours it was basically non stop climax. I didnt expect them to beat the kh2 final which was already on top of the action genre but then the last 3 hours of kh3 surpassed it and did laps around kh2s final lol fucking amazing.
>When Xigbar told Sora you aren't even half the heroes the others were he wasn't referring to Terra, Aqua Ven but he was talking about the Keyblade Wielders from Union X Nomura you son of a bitch
It's the last game. The heroic sacrifice is an ingrained trope, that is all the reason he needs.
Zachary Torres
Sora isn't even truly dead. He is obviously going to return in the next game. Stop spurging out like an idiot.
Luis Mitchell
The entire game was a giant fuck you to Sora though. Think about it, every single world is Sora getting further and further fucked until his final fight with Xehanort in Scala is literally "I can't argue your point but fuck you, Destiny is lit" KH3 can ultimately be summed up as "Sora gets told he's weak even though he's the team carry. The only people who understand him are Donald and Goofy but they can't lighten his burden due to not having the same power as him".
You see the other Guardians shit-talk Sora all the time when all he wants is a little recognition for the amount of work he's been putting in.
Connor Garcia
Nothing gets done in the Disney worlds because this time around each team at Disney basically wrote each worlds plot.
>“For each different world we had to deal with a different team,” explains Nomura, “and [plotting] was largely down to what their feelings were on what they wanted to happen. There were some teams that were like, ‘Ooh, if you make a new story, you're going to kind of ruin the world that we created,’ whereas there were teams, like Toy Story, who said to us, ‘Well, we can't have it in that world, but if you want to make a new story, that's fine.’”
>Even within studios, teams could be markedly different in what they wanted from their own Kingdom Hearts world: “From team to team,” Nomura continues, “the kind of colour, or the way they did things, the feel was quite different. For example, Toy Story and Monsters, Inc., those two teams were completely different from each other.”
Eli Long
This. As much as I fucking loved Sora, he was getting warned multiple times not to abuse the Power of Waking but he kept acting like a smug cunt and abuses it like a retard. He bought it on himself
This game kinda has Return of the Jedi Syndrome doesn't it?
Alexander Gonzalez
Not even trolling I can't get over how gay this whole franchise is. It's more cringe than ponies.
Christian Rogers
It's probably because most people thought the game was literally in development for 13 years, when in reality it was about 5 years, with a complete engine overhaul.
It wouldn't be shit on so much if Nomura had tempered people's expectations. People were expecting the final KH when it was never intended to be.
Daniel Richardson
>Nothing gets done in the Disney worlds because this time around each team at Disney basically wrote each worlds plot.
Yup but that was also true of every game aside from KH1. The cast bulk of OG content was always given to us in OG worlds. Not to deny your statements at all but looking back you realize that KH3 is the culmination of the OG concepts rather than Disney-related shit so even with the other teams writing their own worlds, the lack of OG worlds is an active detriment to the tying of the loose ends that the game was set-up to be in regards to the Xehanort Saga.
Easton Anderson
Jesus Christ why does Nomura hate Kairi (and women) in general so much?
Except Nomura has stated in interviews this is the last Kingdom Hearts game that's going to be about Sora. Fucking idiot.
Juan Price
Not that user but please don't misquote what he said. He said KH3 was the end of the Xehanort Saga. Sora is still going around kicking.
Aiden Allen
>most perfect and most beautiful ending in the history of video games When I think I've seen all kind of shit opinions and tastes, Yea Forums surpass it.
James Williams
>Except Nomura has stated in interviews this is the last Kingdom Hearts game that's going to be about Sora. Fucking idiot. That misinformation again. Nomura has said the opposite, that Sora will always be the MC of main games.
>-- So it's not "Once Sora's story is finished, another hero's story will begin", the hero is always Sora. >Nomura: Yes.
Also an intersting titbit >Nomura: Yes that's right. Though fans probably think that the series will end with KHIII, the KH series we are developing right now, including KHIII, is just the first part of a bigger series. The main character of the KH series is Sora, but right now the first part could be considered "The Xehanort Chronicles", since after all the enemy has always been Xehanort right from the first game. KH3 was never meant to be a "final" game giving complete closure.
Julian Wilson
>Sora dies >enters Reaper's Game in Shibuya
What will Sora's entry fee be, Yea Forums?
Cameron Jackson
Fuck off faggot
Oliver Barnes
His anal virginity
Michael Allen
Larxene is based
Luke Martin
That's not Kairi.
Aiden Gonzalez
>au.ign. CRICKEY!
Josiah Cruz
I hope it's his plot armor.
Gabriel Moore
>What will Sora's entry fee be, Yea Forums? Luxord's card. Nomura did say this Shiguya is "different" so maybe the card is enough as the fee.
Luis James
KH3 is a bit different because the movies used still had most of their teams active and around since they used new movies.
game would've been better with more main story bits mixed in between Disney worlds All Disney and then main shit at the end was done poorly just like in DDD
Just unlocked Big Hero 6 and Pirates, what one should I do first?
Adam Ramirez
>Sora dies >in Ultimania Nomura says he loves Hades >Hades is god of the dead Hades is going to come to claim that dead Sora soul and it'll be great.
Brayden Richardson
Get your crab hunting out of the way first.
William Rodriguez
If you don't care about Battle Level then do whichever. Pirates is more fun.
Jaxson Barnes
More like The Last Jedi syndrome.
Noah Watson
do BH6 first, the end of the pirates world will hype you for the ending sequence
Luke Ortiz
I still love the idea an user mentioned that it'd nice for KH"4" (cause Nomura loves his symbolism) to have Sora go through people like Hades, Dr. Facillier and use other death-themed worlds like Coco.
Elijah Lee
>KH3 was never meant to be a "final" game giving complete closure. not him but there's a difference between the ending KH2 had and KH3's ending. You can have some closure without ending a series.
KH2 had everyone safe and sound at the end with no loose ends, with the only plothooks being the letter from mickey and the secret movies KH3 made as many new loose ends throughout it's story as it tied up in the ending. >Marluxia/Larxene/Luxord/Demyx's pasts, likely to be solved in the mobile game. Some of the shady new info we've gotten even points to the "Demyx is MoM" meme being true >Luxord's card, likely to be used in TWEWY DLC world/KH3.1/whatever the fuck >Girl that Ansem experimented on and Isa/Lea befriended. What were the experiments, how did the Ux character get there, etc. >Why in the fuck was this girl wanted by the Orgy >Scala ad Caelum's existence is blatant sidegame bait >The fucking black box STILL hasn't been opened yet >"New Chess Game" with 7 Dark pieces implying the foretellers are evil and more
probably the luxord card
Dominic Brooks
Link me to some Vanitas X Olette fanfics
Xavier James
pirates has a bunch of gimmick bullshit at first but it's really fun once you unlock the sea, and the ending is actual kino BH6 starts off strong but tapers off and could be better.
wish we got more cutscenes of Sora being badass like in BH6
Parker Sullivan
Well yeah it closes out the plot threads in the Dark Seeker saga while opening up the Foreteller Saga.
Jordan Diaz
>KH2 had everyone safe and sound at the end with no loose ends, with the only plothooks being the letter from mickey and the secret movies >KH3 made as many new loose ends throughout it's story as it tied up in the ending. Isn't that what he says in the interview though? The whole "the KH series we are developing right now, including KHIII, is just the first part of a bigger series" makes it clear that KH3 would introduce /include setups for the next saga.
Anthony Murphy
Wasn't there an article stating that it was because Nomura likes the villains more than Sora?
Jonathan King
That would be really fun. And probably for the first time give a theme to the Disney worlds tying together into the main plot.
Matthew Stewart
>Riku gets Roxas's sloppy seconds Why is Roxas such a chad and Riku is a cuck
He also claimed 3 would be a satisfying conclusion to the Dark Seeker saga, maybe he should have been focused on delivering that first before throwing in enough loose ends to make your head spin.
The difference is that due to there being no return visits, everything had to happen at once. It would be like if 2 went straight from battle of 1000 heartless to the world that never was. That's why it felt so weird. Technically, it's not so they difference, but there wasn't any fillet in between like there usually is
More like >Sora it's imperative you get the power of waking >Sora you now have the power of waking >you can use the power of waking to save your friends >Sora apparently abuses the power of waking/uses it wrong >haha faggot you used the power of waking wrong >what the fuck are you talking about? Yen Sid and that weird cat thing said to do this? >suck my dick >Sora you can't use the power of waking >well gee, thanks for the warning AFTER I already saved all your ungrateful asses but the only person I actually care about is dead because you wouldn't lift a damn finger to help her you filthy rat faggot
Kevin Reed
>Xion and Roxas Wonder what this implies?
Chase Gray
You mean Axel
Jackson Reyes
It'd be op as fuck without the risks.
Samuel Nguyen
I don't see it that way. Kairi didn't get a lot of training, she's as strong as KH1 Sora at best, so it makes sense for her to be so weak.
Nathaniel Flores
Axel is getting dicked by Mickey?
Carter Flores
>Unironically implying Lea isn't 100% faithful to his boyfriend Isa
>Axel >Dicking anyone besides Isa and sometimes Ven when he's drunk and mistakes him for Roxas. No.
Kayden Cox
This. 100x this. Aqua should've been rescued within the first 10 hours, followed by Ven. Then you resurrect Roxas and he tells you about Xion. One by one you bring these characters back and you can see them in Radiant Garden.
Hell, just having a coozy hub world to return to would've made it that much better.
>what makes power of waking dangerous Because you could literally bring back people who are dead and do some time reversal shit. It's so outrageously dangerous and broken as fuck. It had to have major penalties if you abuse that much power
Axel may be gay but Kairi was begging for it non stop
Jaxon Morris
was sora doing that since KH2 when he was opening the worlds to find others or did he start to use it on kh3 when was using his keyblade to take him to where he wanted to go?
Cameron Evans
I need this to be a doujin.
Nicholas Cox
More like >sora the power of waking is only supposed to be used this way >fuck you i do what i want >no really, you're wanting to use it the opposite of how it's supposed to be used, you're gonna die >fuck you I'm the MC I have plot armor >fucking dies like a faggot >i told that stupid ass he was gonna die. Riku, go save his worthless ass
Andrew Martin
Nice of that lazy fuck Yen Sid to tell him there's a way of using it wrong, huh? Oh wait, no he didn't he had Sora believe it was literally the answer to all his problems.
Hudson Gomez
>do some time reversal shit And in Ultimania not just regular time reversal but singularity that erases events from ever happening. The official explanation for the repeat event was a result of the power causing the first go to never have happened and be deleted. Also on top of it the power works by teleporting yourself across worlds. Also powerful.
Aaron Sanchez
Except he was warned, repeatedly, by multiple people about the dangers of abusing it.
Cameron Allen
Except he was told multiple times throughout the story, ad by multiple people, that he was using it wrong. He didn't give a fuck because he's a fucking retard.
Isaiah Ward
Where did anyone ever warn him about there even being a wrong way to use it until AFTER he already apparently used it wrong?
John Hernandez
>no really, you're wanting to use it the opposite of how it's supposed to be used, you're gonna die Was this Chirithy's plan all along?! Sora asked it if he should use it like this and it didn't warn him!
Logan Johnson
He literally spends two games explaining Sora needs to learn to do the power correctly. The whole Disney world part of 3 was Yen Sid saying he shouldn't be doing the power yet and wasn't ready. Did you even play the game? Is your entire knowledge of the game this one thread of people explaining shit to you?
Grayson Reed
What the fuck are you faggots talking about? He was warned literally once by that salty faggot Young Xehanort after he'd already fucked up.
Lucas Rodriguez
When was he told he's using it wrong? There was the warning at the end that specifically chasing Kairi might kill him but I don't remember anyone chastising him before that point. Besides, the whole point of his story arc was being treated like a novice when he proved by the end that he's the most capable keyblade wielder of the whole gang. That's why he has the confidence to break the rules.
Liam Sanchez
The latter, the worlds only opened in 2 when he found specific items that would open the worlds in small increments. The framing device for all these worlds in 3 is that he's just using this guiding instinct all the time. in the case of the Disney worlds, where he was being guided to Organization members who were messing around while investigating their own duties like the Black Box and the Princesses of Heart.
Camden Young
>but singularity that erases events from ever happening. The official explanation for the repeat event was a result of the power causing the first go to never have happened and be deleted. To be honest do we REALLY want a second timeline where Xehaniggers won around? Cause you know he'd just use that for some more plot twists later on. Not that i'm not expecting him to do that desu.
Kayden Thompson
The part where Young Xehanort told him he was using it wrong, and then by Mickey at the end.
He was warned by Mickey at the end of the game and he literally told Sora he was using it the opposite of how it's supposed to be used. Did you even play the game?
Camden Lewis
No he fucking doesn't, he just says it's the power to wake sleeping hearts. He never tells Sora there's an incorrect way of using it, or that it can be abused.
Ayden Morris
Something I was wondering about is Luxu's original body Braig?
Think about it: he steals bodies like Nort did to Terra, and he became a nobody just like Terranort. When Terranort reformed after Xemnas died, he came back as Master Xehanort, aka his original body. So is Braig the original body of Luxu?
You're right. I don't want alternate timelines to enter the mix.
Elijah Adams
That's because he didn't even use the powers outside of Ventus, then they rushed into the Keyblade graveyard and were all wiped. He the Immediately used the powers of waking to grab everyone, Yong Xehanort catching onto the end of this rescue attempt and telling him he's too far gone for it to matter now.
Joseph Bell
He was arned by Mickey too, obviously him saving Kairi (again) was what ultimately killed him. If he didn't do that he'd still be alive, probably.
Nicholas Watson
Nigger he'd already fucking abused it by that point when he reset time and was on death's door.
Grayson Cox
>get to the postgame >the Twilight Town battlegate boss is actually fucking fun and almost challenging
And he was lucky it didn't fuck him in the ass that time. He tried again at the end and it did.
Blake Fisher
>When Terranort reformed after Xemnas died, he came back as Master Xehanort, aka his original body.
What? I thought he recompleted as Terra Xehanort.
John Evans
Jesus Christ and Sora just abuses that like a dumbass when quite a few people told him to not abuse it or you will die. He bought it all on himself because he got cocky and thought he was untouchable
If he did that why would he ditch Terra's body for his weak old man self? I thought the whole point of BBS was he needed a younger body to live long enough to fulfill his plans. I'm a lorelet mind you, I don't dig super deep into this stuff and could be wrong for all I know.
Xavier Miller
>and thought he was untouchable I think even he knew he'd probably not return/die when he went to save Kairi at the end, he just chose her over himself (which is par for the course).
Andrew Butler
No, when Luxu body swaps someone he kicks out their old heart completely. The reason Terra and Xehanort reformed separately was because Terra was constantly fighting back.
I bet if he went to Yen Sid like Riku and everyone else there agreed was a good idea they'd have found a better way to get her back.
Ayden Taylor
You're acting like Young Xehanort was genuinely warning him to be careful, as though Sora should have chosen to let everyone die just to be safe. The warning from Mickey is the only time Sora made the choice to 'use the power wrong', which he's fine with because he'd obviously give up his life for Kairi.
Hudson Turner
>Jesus Christ and Sora just abuses that like a dumbass when quite a few people told him to not abuse it or you will die. Excuse you? When? When was it ever brought up until after he'd already abused it?
Cameron Martinez
Not sure but i think in Ultimania he said that Old guy was recompleted while the Terranort is basically BBS Terranort's heart time-traveling to the future and entering his empty body or something.
Because there was no need for them. The only nobodies we never saw were Vexens, Lexaeus, and Zexions.
Christopher Martinez
She wants to see what's inside. It could be anything! It could even be another box!
Jason Bell
>You're acting like Young Xehanort was genuinely warning him to be careful He was. That part in Toy Box where he whispers to Sora about finding the hearts connected to his also sounded very genuine.
Dylan Lewis
It was cool to have the Mage and Berserker back for a single boss fight It was actually kinda scary to fight a super Berserker with no action command weakness.
Lucas Bailey
Its an artifact that will make Pete the worlds most powerful dancer
Robert Hall
I dunno I think he just wanted him to find the necessary lights. YX is a cunt
Elijah Peterson
so those meaningless things are what opened the worlds in kh2? i thought they were pointless things all along because some didn't make sense how they would be so important to open the worlds
Levi Peterson
>YX was just trying to make Sora fall deeper in despair and either get him Darkness'd or let him die trying to save everyone Based cunt.
Justin Martin
To remain relevant.
Isaac Adams
She didn't do anything in 2 either.
Christopher Sanchez
To become relevant again then.
Kevin Wilson
>GUYS I HAVE A KEYBLADE NOW I CAN FINALLY BE USEFU- nomura is the king of plot twists
so why did he kill kairi? why he needed 12 more copies of No Name?
Andrew Bell
He wanted ti 1-up Jesus who had twelve key-blades.
Ryan Richardson
Why are you pushing this so hard?
John Thompson
Why the FUCK do so many fags hold high praise for KH2fm? Aside from the kino combat, that part in Hollow Bastion and end, the game suffers from literally the same problems with KH3. Sora just travels from world to world doing shit all until near the end. The game is Story is so fucking boring I've been skipping pretty all the cut scenes.
Man if KH3 kept the combat from 2, disabled circus moves and added more shit from in the world's, it would have been the best one.
Easton Young
The Ultimania explanation was more complicated. Both Old Man Nort and Terra's body from when they merged returned whole. Cum Guardian then swiped Terra's heart and imprisoned it within itself. Nort then used the empty body to put time traveling Terranort heart in.
Should have ended at :13 seconds and go black and say "CONNECTED" or some shit.
Jaxon Green
Fuck off this entire game was rushed. Nomura gave 0 thought or love to the ending of this saga. He just went down the list and ticked everything off so can he do his retarded versus 13 autism crap with the next game. I played all these fucking garbage handheld games for nothing. I'm done. Fuck Square Enix. Fuck Kingdom Hearts. And most importantly. Fuck Nomura.
>Scene of Roxas escaping the Final World >Has a giant watery Twilight Thorn instead of a Darkside
Elijah Lopez
Was it hard to find a Nimoy sound alike?
Xavier Garcia
I hope the Trio stays together. But the ending made it seem like they might not.
Michael Howard
No, they could easily have used the guy who voiced Carl in UP, they just chose not to.
Zachary Young
The camaraderie between them and importance of their relationship were the absolute best parts of 3, so I'm alright with giving them a break since they had so much emphasis this time around.
Tyler Stewart
>90% of the game is spent fucking around in Disney worlds >Half the time Sora doesn't even know why he's there >The other half the villains don't know what they're doing there and admit they're just hanging around to call Sora a nerd then fuck-off after summoning a boss monster
They're all doing "research", and then it's never used or brought up again
Chase Robinson
roxas only probably saw xion in her and didn't realize it, he never touched her
Oliver Nguyen
The disney worlds are there solely out of tradition. At this point I'm pretty sure most people would be fine with original worlds.
Jose Anderson
You can draw parallels between each world and the main story in a way the characters couldn't until the end. I don't know if that makes it OK to seem like busywork, but I think it works well in hindsight especially since Sora is so powerful by the end.
I don't know how the fuck it all works but clearly they had backup plans about 'new lights'.
Evan Harris
The next one really needs to axe the disney shtick, there's no point anymore except to bore people, the new movies suck, and no one cares about them.
Angel Brown
No.
Ayden Hill
SE would have to get Disney's permission since Kingdom Hearts is owned by Disney.
They shouldn't axe them. They just need to do them right instead of letting some faggots say they don't want to be in a crossover like the Frozen team.
Cooper Jenkins
The new movies have no good villains either. Jaffar/Ursula/Oogie/Hades/Maleficint are all legit powerful in their own right. The only new modern disney villain comparable to this crew is the Witch Doctor from Frog Princess who personally I think could be a pretty kickass boss fight.
I guess there's always Syndrome too.
Parker Jackson
well then they're fucked. Jews always win I guess
Elijah Clark
Why not? They're barely even tangentially related to the plot now. A new Disney character hasn't joined the main cast since KH1, while Nomura is constantly dumping new teenage keyblade wielders on us.
Shit not even Maleficent did anything. Pete at least was the main villain in the firs half of KH2.
Kevin Jackson
I wasn't implying that in my post. His line at the end was pretty much straight gloating that no matter what he does he will eventually cease to exist, his death quote at the very end is just extra frosting.
Juan Ortiz
>Xigbar and Ansem/Xemnas made sure to push Sora on his journey also later Ansem had his mystery girl and Xigrab was doing Luxu stuff >Marluxia and Larxene monitoring the new princesses as a backup plan >Evil Repliku and Young Xehanort perfecting their Replica plans >Vanitas being reborn thanks to the negativity in Monstropolis >Luxord looking for the black box AND Vexen being there to study Does that count?
Grayson Martinez
It's disappointing that the villains weren't used and we got big Heartless bosses instead. Surely there's a middle ground between invisible chameleons and no involvement at all.
>A new Disney character hasn't joined the main cast since KH1 >Pete at least was the main villain in the firs half of KH2. You can't even go longer than one post without proving yourself wrong.
Christopher Cook
We already lost FF. Don't wanna lose the Disney shit too, personally.
Mason Baker
>parallels Even if I agreed with you it doesn't change the fact that the worlds are literally filler. At least in KH1 you had a purpose going to each world. KH3 Sora is just stumbling around with no clue what he's doing while we're forced to endure 2 hour movies summed up in exposition of 20 minutes.
What trash.
Nicholas Foster
I see that now.
Gabriel Anderson
It was such a joke when Maleficient and Pete looked over all the UnionXfags with the box as if they were going to swoop in and take it and not get their asses kicked
Blake Gutierrez
As in main good guys. I figured that would self evident considering I did mention Pete as a villain.
Colton Ward
No, you see the rule of jobbing is if one jobber encounters a large group of jobbers the jobbers in the larger numbered group will always job to the jobbers in smaller numbers. So 2 jobbers of Maleficent and Pete would be able to take 4 jobbers of the founders.
Jaxson Carter
Kingdom Hearts has always been shonen anime with a Disney backdrop. The Disney worlds themselves don't really matter at all, they're just there for the main characters to fuck around in while plot happens. They could focus on wholly original characters and worlds for future games but that would be entirely up to Disney.
James Anderson
You figured stating something different from what you mean was self evident? Even after you move the goal posts to only count good guys, Yen Sid still proves you a wrong dumbass.
Connor Reed
He had a purpose, it was just broad and indirect. People have been calling the Disney worlds filler forever, at least we got some new locations and level design to enjoy instead of the same exact thing we've always had. I know your mind is made up, but I can't complain about the balance they struck this time around when I specifically enjoy the Disney worlds and they were way more engaging than some past entries have been.
Jose Sanders
>Kingdom Hearts has always been shonen anime with a Disney backdrop. KH is DB, KH2 is DBZ and KH3 is DBS. I wonder how KH4 will turn.
Sebastian Morris
I'm pretty sure they fucked off to keep scheming after that.
Blake Moore
Yen Sid isn't main cast anymore than Minnie is. The guy shows up like twice a game for some exposition dump. Jiminy Cricket is more of a main cast guy than YS.
Owen Powell
He's pretty fuckin important in 3.
Kayden Williams
Zurg needs to be a secret boss added to Toy Story.
You aren't even trying to hide your goal post moving and flawed arguments now.
Daniel Lopez
>He had a purpose, it was just broad and indirect What? He was literally wandering around wondering what he was supposed to be doing 99% of the time.
>Disney worlds and they were way more engaging than some past entries have been. Yes, because watching a cliffnotes version of Frozen with Sora on the sidelines and doing the Triforce Hu- I mean, the 300 Crab Hunt, was so engaging~
Jose Sanchez
>there are people not only defending this shitty sequel bait of an ending, but praising Nomura for choosing to drag them further in this shithole of a plot
And I'm not even upset that there's gonna be more KH. It would be stupid for Squeenix to give up it's second biggest cashcow, but at least let the fans rest from this stupidity for a year or two before we get slapped with SEE YOU IN THE NEXT KINGDOM HEARTS YOU STUPID WEEBS
Ethan Smith
I'll grant you that, and it was refreshing to see him pop up in KB GY. I just wish it didn't feel like the OCs were supplanting the Disney characters, because that was the appeal of the games to me.
Jason Peterson
You are free to interpret what I say how you will. It doesn't make you right, but I can hardly stop you.
Eli Richardson
You could say the same with most KH games. CoM only matters the moment you fight the Organization which is like half game and only in the last 2 worlds things start to get a real plot. Riku's story was full plot-wise which was post game
Back to 3, Hercule, Toy Story and Caribbean were good, everything else was either meh or alright. Caribbean was only missing some special heartless or nobody mini-bosses on those ships, since there are a ghost ship and a golden ship with no boss like other 7+life bar ships had.
Fucking Disney. No wonder Frozen is boring as hell and they had to shove it down the movie again. How Tangled was alright despite mostly being what happened in the movie with rapunzel's journey. How Caribbean was so open despite the story being so short. how Toy Story was a bit off with no Zurg, no nightmare Buzz(when falls into the darkness due to doubts) or the Pizza place despite this still being the best world. how Hercule was good but had no hades fight. how Monstropolis felt bland as hell. or why Fransokyo was just a big sandbox full of treasures and nothing else. why no disney villains fights and why Maleficent is just "there"
I hope next game it gets less disney worlds if things are to be this way where Square cant do what they want
Matthew Hall
>I just wish it didn't feel like the OCs were supplanting the Disney characters >so thus I hope they remove all Disney wut?
Jace Moore
Honestly i'd personally prefered it if they just gave Sora his happy ending and he stopped being the MC.
Aiden Jackson
>don't fight Zurg in Toy Story >don't fight Masketta Man in BH6
What an absolute blunder.
Angel Taylor
Here let's fix the Kingdom Hearts 3
>World 1, Hercules-stays the same, Sora learns to "become strong again" to whatever >World 2, Toy Story-most of the world takes place in Andy's House/street. Objective is to rescue toy stolen by Org member/Heartless possessed Zurg >NOW go save Aqua (let us plays as just Riku or Mickey like KH2) >World 3, Treasure Planet-no idea how it fits with the story but it's just a fun world. Fight the cyborg dude >Return to either Radiant Garden or Traverse Town-do Winnie the Pooh >World 4, Incredibles-Sora & gang can learn to be heroes or some bullshit, fight Syndrome/robot >Save Ventus with Aqua's help >World 5, Monsters Inc-it can stay the same >World 6, A Bugs Life- something fun, comfy and Pixar >Some other important story shit happens either with Axel/Kiari/Riku or the antagonists >World 7, bring in a classic like Sword in the Stone or something-Sora finally learns to be battle ready for the end, Merlin can be there too >NOW bring on the end, save Terra, actually raise the stakes, and let Xehanort die like he should, not some misunderstood bad guy
He was following his 'heart', retraining and learning the power of waking. I would rather collect 300 crabs in an open sea with islands to explore than run from a town to a cave to a town to a dock to a cave. My point is that I like what they did with the Disney worlds compared to the past games, regardless of how well they handled the movie plots.
Julian Miller
A witch doctor boss fight would be some trip
They either are saving for the a new KH, because Toy Story will be in since everyone loves Woody and Buzz, or Zurg cant be used at all.
Lincoln Gonzalez
I'd rather see them gone than half-assedly shoehorned in as worlds that aren't even relevant the plot anymore beyond "go grind your power up Sora."
Nathan Baker
Personally I'm annoyed that we're replacing the Organization, who were cool but played out, with a bunch of fucking furries nobody likes.
So the Ultimania lists "リベンジ値" (Revenge Value) for each attack. Originally Revenge Value was a fan term but I guess they noticed and made it official now.
Easton Myers
They are there to troll Sora, even Sora acknowledges that. And looking for a black box
Ienzo was also supposed to research, but he does nothing without Vexen and Ansem's help. Everything he says after each world is things Sora and Co already knew or guessed.
Jacob Harris
>He was following his 'heart' Right, which was literally just running around doing nothing and being confused until Nomura decided he filled his Disney quota and made him get the power of waking in spite of it. Uh huh.
> I would rather collect 300 crabs Ah, you're one of THOSE people. I can't reason with "people" who enjoy filler designed to pad out games like the Triforce Hu-, I mean, the 300 Crab Hunt.
>I like what they did with the Disney worlds Hey man, if you like to watch a poor man's cliff-notes of Frozen with dialogue obscuring the songs then you do you
I remember the weeks leading up to 3 some guy was in every thread saying he was 100% there would be a treasure planet world because he knew Nomura and knew it was Nomura's favorite movie. Almost every thread with this dumb theory.
Nicholas Jones
Hercule and Toy Box shouldnt be the first worlds, it should be on Misty Stream. Especially Hercule with a harder version of Titans boss + Hades
Adam Martin
I expected the crabs to be a pain based on Yea Forums's bitching but they're easy to find and fun and they're not unique collectibles or anything. They're like rupees, not triforce shards.
>I can't reason with "people" who enjoy filler designed to pad out games like the Triforce Hu- Yeah, that shit was so bad in KH2 too. >Muh morale balls and missions in Mulan >Muh turning on the stupid machine in Tron >Muh 4 medallions Wait a minute
>explore the town >find treasure chests, emblems and be underwater "dis maite bi a gud shpot to find suchme ingriendients" >that prison place full of crabs If they didnt forced guys like you to pick crabs you wouldnt even explore the town and would go straight through the story and probably ignore the islands. What you deserve is every world to be linear, just corridors
Ayden Russell
I thought we were talking about in-game fillers, something that KH was always filled with? Why would someone get mad with something that's been there all along? Crabs were actually quite fast all things considered.
Ethan Harris
What happened with Lingering Will? It just popped up for one scene and fucked off forever. You'd think it would team up with Ven and Aqua.
Lucas Morales
I only played 1 & 2 but I am an immense fan and have rudimentary knowledge of what happened in the other games. I vowed not to play 3 until I can at least play birth by sleep and 365/2 not to mention the American version of final mix 2 or whatever the crazy bonus content bundle for ps3 was called Should I just play 3 or should I wait until I can play the other games It looks so crazy and I genuinely love this fucking series >mfw in kh2 when fighting xemnas at the tower you can get a reaction command that replicates riku v. roxas in the deep dive trailer
Bug's Life is mad questionable. I've never seen TP, but it looks like it could be cool.
I think we need a Cars world.
Jaxson Ramirez
>What you deserve is every world to be linear, just corridors They also bitch about Monstropolis though, quite funny.
Nolan Taylor
Not him but I did ignore the islands because I didn't have Jack in the party. Judging by all the banter I got to hear when I returned to find all the chests and shit I made the right call. Also why the fuck does your ship explode into crabs? It just seems like a dumb oversight considering you can return whenever you want, should have been the Pearl on return visits instead of making it a level up reward.
Nolan Wilson
Pretty sure everything they were looking for was what dark riku said in BH6 world. They wanted to create hearts out of data somewhat organically. By the end of DDD because they lost Sora, they were one vessel short and needed to replace him. So from then on towards the end, I'm fairly sure their goal was to figure out how to get xion and use her instead. More so for Vexen since I assume he is responsible for it
Jordan Perez
No you need to play Birth by Sleep first at least.
Tyler Smith
Can we all agree the wolf boss was cool as fuck? Like holy shit , whoever designed it needs a medal.
Aiden Bailey
And do what exactly? Drive over heartless?
You need to be over 18 to post here.
Leo James
>Everything before the last Disney world >Jesus Christ this game story is so shit and boring Yeah, you can fuck right off with that nonsense.
Easton Williams
Depends. In my opinion, if you can wait and avoid spoilers i'd say save KH3 for last, that way the emotional impact will be greater (if you care about that stuff) and you won't have to downgrade from KH3's gameplay and graphics to BBS/DDD.
Luis James
But then you remove most of the Rpg out of the series, or at least anything unique about it compared to the rest.
It seemed like it borrowed a lot of stuff from the big doggo boss that Aqua fights in the world of darkness.
Jason Long
>cool You clever little sneak! But yeah, i agree. I liked most of the bosses actually but this one is pretty high on my list.
Juan Torres
My nephew's obsession with Cars triggers me
Nolan Clark
Big yikes if a post my friend. You're mad people don't think like you lmao. Just ignore people who don't agree with you because you're obviously not mature enough to accept it
Adrian Evans
Fair enough.
Connor Jones
So what's the reason for no FF characters? You'd think SE would have a hard on for making the XV guys do a cameo.
Jace Allen
After how badly it ruined their image and fired it's director? Nah they want it gone and hoping to at least get some good will back with Ardyn since people at least liked him
Oliver Stewart
Tabata literally got fired and the DLC was cancelled, SE doesn't give a fuck about XV anymore. They're even letting Nomura make his Versus remake.
Chase Myers
They've been supplanted by the likes of Lea, Aqua, etc. Basically the OC KH characters have pushed out the FF characters I assume.
Asher Ortiz
Nomura said something about there really not being a need for them, and then saying he regretted it because fans kept asking which FF characters were going to be in it.
Leo Wilson
Apparently the OCs needed the screentime cause they're so many (which is kinda funny since they were all shoved in the last 5 hours either way).
William Martin
Funny, because unlike other worlds, when you finish that world you still are there, it seems developers know you guys too well. And Jack does jack shit, he doesnt even acompany you underwater. The only difference are some short interactions with Jack Exploring the islands were neat, that sandbar isle was great.
Jackson Myers
The official reason is they had too many other characters to get around to first before they could get to adding in Final Fantasy characters and by the time they had added everyone in they couldn't fit in anyone else. They said they did make a Leon model though but couldn't fit him into the story.
Isaiah Torres
Never played XV, still like their designs though, what a pity.
Kayden Murphy
That's a fair point, but what about the established characters like Cloud or Leon?
Alexander Wood
The Frozen team is the only one that was really strict, since they're so autistic about their hit film. They forced Let It Go and Make A Snowman into it and prevented Sora from have any more than a barely there interaction with the characters so the "essence" of the film would be preserved, and they also didn't want any spoilers for people who haven't seen the movie yet which is why Hans never spoke and only had six seconds of screen time.
Pixar wanted Toy Box and Monsteropolis to be a midquel and sequel respectively (Toy Box is also canon to the films, it's set between 2 and 3) and I find them to be very good for that. You lament no pizza place, but I'd rather not simply redo the first movie or go to places we've seen simply to squee over them. Same with BH6, being a sequel to the movie made it better than just rehashing it. Even Tangled and POTC allowed Sora and crew to be written into the movies' plots and have an impact, and Hercules only redid the climax of the movie and still wrote Sora and crew into it nicely.
Though as garbage as the Frozen world is, I'll still give it props for two things: 1) Marshmallow as the guest party member 2) One of the best Heartless bosses in the series
>people ask for Leon since he helps Sora >where is Cloud vs Sephiroth and the fight against Sephiroth That's the only things people want. Not that much
Landon Gomez
Nomura felt KH had matured enough so that the gimmick of FF characters to sell the games wasn't needed anymore.
Joseph Nelson
If KH3 Terranort is a time traveler from before he split into Ansem and Xemnas and Master Xehanort is the recompleted version, then what happened to Terra’s body? Where did it go after recompletion? More importantly, won’t the restored Terra have to return to the past at some point? Fuck this stupid plot.
Jack Ross
Itll probably happen in the future. After this game where the lost characters are all pretty much safe and sound, there's probably no reason to try and keep all these characters in the center together and it can go back to smaller group focuses each game like it's been. At least until they want to go for a big hurray again like for this game.
But at the moment is FF15 really necessary when you have Riku noctis and Yozora walking around?
Jacob Sullivan
It's telling that most of the stuff in this chart is based on things that happened in the last 4 hours of the game.
>The Frozen team is the only one that was really strict Actually Nomura said that the Toy Story team was the strictest team he worked with, but they worked constructively with him to meet their strict requirements helping him out and Nomura says he actually learned various techniques working with them. In the end the Pixar team was so pleased about Nomura meeting all of their requirements that they even now say the game is canon to the movies between 2 and 3.
Zachary Hughes
Frozen was the biggest mistake ever. When I saw it at E3 I knew right away it would be one of the worst KH worlds of all time. I'd almost rather do KH2 Atlantica again over it. lol not actually Atlantica is garbage.
Charles Mitchell
Well now the same is true for Disney characters
Aiden Powell
>Pixar wanted Toy Box and Monsteropolis to be a midquel and sequel respectively (Toy Box is also canon to the films, it's set between 2 and 3) and I find them to be very good for that. You lament no pizza place, but I'd rather not simply redo the first movie or go to places we've seen simply to squee over them. Even Tangled and POTC allowed Sora and crew to be written into the movies' plots and have an impact, and Hercules only redid the climax of the movie and still wrote Sora and crew into it nicely. Yeah, it was obvious Frozen was the worst in that aspect. I wonder if any of the future movies from those franchises will ever have a small nod to KH, like giving Hans a pet wolf or something.
Jack Gray
A model for Leon was made for KH3.
Jaxson Barnes
Better explanation.
Levi Ward
Terra's body was recompleted the same time Xehanorts was. His body probably ended up at the graveyard but the guardian existing caused Terra's heart to be trapped so even though his body came back, his heart didn't return to it and pretty much ended up like Ventus in a comatose state. Terranort didn't ever need to return to the past when defeated, Xehanorts control just disappeared and Terra's heart took control of his body
Dominic Moore
>Yeah, it was obvious Frozen was the worst in that aspect I don't know, Tangled was pretty egregious. In Frozen you mostly just do shit on your own, but in Tangled it's like Sora replaces Eugene as Rapunzel's love interest but doesn't get to fuck the girl he clearly has better chemistry with than Kairi.
Jose Evans
>Drive over heartless That’s actually a fantastic idea. Cars on Planes would be awesome additions.
Jacob Gonzalez
Yeah, keep in mind in KH1 and 2, the 'Teams' were like one guy in charge of the property. so back then you could basically do whatever.
Now, since it's a lot of recent films, most of the people who worked on them are still there. And Disney's way more vicious with its stuff. Hilariously KH1 had the hardest time portraying the MAIN Disney stuff, they couldn't get Mickey mouse outside of 1 scene, when Square wanted him as the protagonist.
Aaron Richardson
>Sora/Kairi at the bottom >Axel with the keyblade lower than Axel with chakrams These 2 always get me.
Josiah Smith
Don't forget, that Disney sent them models of the characters to use in the game that didn't work and Square team had to fix them.
Juan Howard
For that I'm thinking Square might've gone "Dissidia will be the current crossover-verse, sorry, you only get Disney now. But tell you what we'll let you have Moogle and Pixar with it".
I'm so fucking conflicted over this god damn ending There's so much stupid shit like Xion suddenly coming back out of nowhere with Sora and Lea suddenly remembering who she is, Lingering Will just dissappearing, everyone just fucking dying suddenly for like 10 minutes from a mob of heartless which they've definitely already dealt with before, and just everything about Xehanort's defeat. BUT THEN there's also the equally as fucking awesome shit like the Sora using the power of the past keyblade wielders to defeat the heartless tornado, when Lingering Will shows up and saves Aqua and Ventus, when Roxas finally arrives, Xion, Roxas, Lea, Aqua, Terra, Ven and Namine getting their happy endings, the aesthetics of the final boss with Xehanort, ZETTA FLARE Just FUCKING DAMMIT Nomura
Zachary Clark
>Final Boss battle is the Piston Cup race against the green car who turns into a heartless after you beat him
>Drive over heartless But we already did that in Pride Lands!
At least he interacted with her. I also liked his interactions with Eugene. I also like Tangled more than Frozen AND Frozen had the worst minigame.
Isaac Murphy
I'd rather have Tangled, which is the movie plot but Sora is integrated into events, than Frozen, in which Sora dicks around a mountain for 2 hours saying "I just want to talk to Elsa" and never talking to Elsa, or getting acknowledged.
Fun fact: Frozen is the only world that ends with Sora not being acknowledged by the worlds residents. In every other world, Sora hangs out with and has fun final talks with Herc, Hiro, Sully, Woody, Jack, Rapunzel... In Frozen there's nothing, they're all busy having their own ending, while Sora just chats to Donald and Goofy.
Aiden Bennett
>Throne raise rage form Xehanort >the rage form Xehanort is in the same relaxed pose as in DDD >'EXPIRE!' >the shadows of 12 other rage form Xehanorts start attacking you at once >Lazers come from the main throne Xehanort while all this happens at once Was it kino?
Fuck, why’s Disney so autistic? It’s a video game, no one assumes this shit’s canon.
Gavin Morales
Obviously it's going to be all of his powers and abilities.
Aaron Perry
How did Rapunzel have the satchel at the same time that her mother discovered it?
Thomas Allen
>and they also didn't want any spoilers for people who haven't seen the movie yet which is why Hans never spoke and only had six seconds of screen time. >hey don't show the big twist villain >ok we'll just rewrite the story to work around him >no. don't change the story I don't know what I would do in that situation.
Elijah Morales
Schrodinger's Satchel.
Carson James
>Fun fact: Frozen is the only world that ends with Sora not being acknowledged by the worlds residents. In every other world, Sora hangs out with and has fun final talks with Herc, Hiro, Sully, Woody, Jack, Rapunzel... In Frozen there's nothing, they're all busy having their own ending, while Sora just chats to Donald and Goofy. Jesus i didn't even notice that, i just wanted to leave. That's just sad.
Brayden Myers
The Disney worlds and the final fight were kino. Eveything was either non-existent or lacking.
Colton Lee
It's amazing how fucking weak Sora+Kairi and Aqua (barrierless) are. These are characters who don't even bother trying to BLOCK attacks.
Meanwhile fucking Defense Mode Goofy is blocking Terranort's attacks and dealing more damage to Terranort than he takes. Why can't retarded Keyblade masters be more like Goofy? BLOCK, you retards.
Ryder Anderson
That's being strict in a good way, since they didn't want to simply redo one of the movies and they worked closely with Nomura. The Frozen people were morons who wanted the movie left as is with Sora just watching.
Disney is the reason for KH existing. The FF characters were always just window dressing. Why do you think we never went to an actual FF world like Ivalice?
Jeremiah Howard
Were they the models straight from the movie or ones they tried making for the game?
Michael Johnson
Really surprising. In the DDD interview with Nintendo, Nomura said that Disney gave him free reign with everything. What changed?
Luke White
Fuck it i'll say it. KH3 last boss is better than KH2, people only prefer that cause of the last part, Riku and Xemnas' sexy voice.
Luke Stewart
It's not the reason KH exists anymore. You think people who bought the game actually wanted to go Frozen and San Frankyoto or whatever? LOL. That ship has sailed.
Jayden Brown
I don't know. Just that Disney and I guess Pixar too sent Square cg models of characters to use to make Kingdom Hearts and the Frozen ones didn't work at had hair related problems. Like all the hair stuck out like a porcupine and they had to fix it.
Jackson Hall
Disney probably didn't care about any of the stuff they wanted for DDD.
Chase Harris
Each movie requires working with a different team from the movie. It was Frozen Disney employees specifically causing the Frozen problems not a general Disney employee go between.
Jason Cruz
It's the Frozen team, not Disney in its entirety. They are REALLY anal about their movie because it made them rich and famous and it went to their heads, especially since it was an accidental hit despite being rewritten and mangled during production.
Angel Perez
If anything the last 5 seconds redeemed it Everyone lived happy ever after isn't intresting in the least
Brody Foster
You =/= the rest of the fanbase.
Carter Allen
What the fuck does Nomura have against Axel?
Alexander Campbell
Powerlevel chart should disti guish between kh3 sora and kh2 Sora
Mason Allen
this game is on a different level of bad for a kh game. if you think otherwise you are a shill to square. bosses were fucking trash, all of them besides 2. How the fuck did they think not having us wait to fight a human boss 20 hours in was a good idea? And god forbid osaka team makes one fucking boss engaging. Fuck no they are too retarded and make us fight 3 at once. Fuck this. Ive been on board kh since the beginning but this one really hurt at how phoned in it was. Im hopping of this shitshow once and for all.
Connor Stewart
Didn't you forget? Nobody dies in kingdom hearts.
Easton Lopez
Sure wish we had Drives instead of Shotlock and Disney World attraction shilling.
Oliver Jackson
Hello barry
Connor Nelson
They just get put through horrific emotional abuse
Cameron Sullivan
Here is the quote. Disney provided the original polygon shapes of characters from its properties, with guidelines for how more detail was to be placed on top. Square Enix designers then added hair, clothing materials and more. Essentially, for characters like Frozen’s Elsa, there’s a tiny piece of the original digital model in your game, hidden under layers of added pixel-paint.
Disney was very concerned with what Elsa's hair looked like”, says Yamazaki. “Of course she's got this beautiful golden-white hair that's always flowing and beautiful, and when we got the data, her hair was just sticking straight backwards.”
“So we used animation initially to bring it forward, but no matter how we did that it didn't quite look right, it always kind of looked a little weird, and Disney wasn't happy with that. Ultimately, what we had to do, we told them, 'with the data you guys gave us, and what we're working with, we can't make it look any better than this'.
“What we ended up doing was remaking the hair, not from the model they gave to us. It was the one part that was like, 'oh this doesn't make sense, we're not supposed to be changing anything, but we have to change it to make it looks like it looks in the movie itself'."
Juan Nguyen
Without the final two hours of the game it would've been an abject disaster, that's not true for the earlier entries.
Bentley Cooper
>despite being rewritten and mangled during production. >I'm Hans and i'm ready to be king since Anna already said yes, the only problem is Elsa >Should i let those 2 guards of tha shady guy kill her and have a perfect scapegoat? >Nah, i should just bring this girl that set off an eternal winter back to the dungeon, i'm sure it can hold her I mean, i know it's a movie for children and i shouldn't think too much about it but i t still annoys me.
Nathan Wilson
>Toy Box: fun world hits the nostalgia right, but a spaceship as a boss? where is zurg? >Frozen: good ice labyrinth. climb the mountain... when does this shit end? Fun mini-boss. have to climb the mountain AGAIN? why singing and speaking at the same time? Fuck you Olaf. this world theme is driving me insane, cant hear this shit ever again. Great boss though >Tangled: got the movie right and felt comfy. But wait the city is just this shit? >Monstropolis: why Randall is not the boss? and is this over? why so short? >BH6: fun sandbox with grinding that reminds me of JSR. wait is this OVER ALREADY? >Hercule: why Hades is leaving? why no fight? >Caribbean: YO HO YO HO A PIRRATE'S LIFE FOR ME That's what I thought when playing. I never saw Frozen, so this game left me a "meh" feeling to it
Joshua Nelson
cringe
Cameron Gutierrez
Disney’s willing to let pic related happen to Mickey. But a pile of garbage like Frozen has their parties twisted in a bunch. Fuck (((nu-Disney))). I can’t wait for their old copyrights to expire.
The Org XIII fights were really shitty. They were handled much better in 2 and CoM.
Nicholas Taylor
Everyone downplays how nasty good the aesthetics are in Xehanorts boss fights. That shit comes first for a good boss imo especially in this series.
Also props for KH3 team not being cowards and bringing Destati, probably the best track only heard once (maybe twice) a game, for the final boss fight.
Isaiah Young
The whole game was shit, you dumb incel weeb.
Nathaniel Sanders
How many times do we have to explain to you that it's not Disney but the specific team who made Frozen?
Justin Carter
>Spending so much time on Elsa's hair This movie finds new ways to anger me even today, impressive.
Jason Wright
Imagine all the dev time and money that went into recreating disney movie scenes frame by frame were put into making Scala ad Caelum a fully realized world. God forbid.
Parker Martin
Fuck off barry
Austin Miller
It's funny to me because the original movie itself had glitches with the hair.
Yeah, since Square only has one team of employees.
John Long
KH2 was an abject disaster until they final mixed it.
Cooper Fisher
I kinda agree with that desu. Is spending dev time on shit like worth it in your opinion?
Lincoln Flores
but everyone shits on people for wanting this game to be similar to 2FM, which makes no fucking sense to me. KH2FM is easily the best game in the series gameplay wise, its undeniable. Just shows how fucking incompetent osaka team is. The original dev team was put on FFVII remake, despite nomura wanting them to make KH3. And its extremely apparent. This is truly the darkest timeline. Especially because this game sold like fucking crazy despite being fucking devoid of any passion or care. We will have shit gameplay and story in KH forever unless nomura passes it on to someone else.
Blake Torres
People don't remember OG KH2 or OG KH1. Guess what, they were waaaay worse than OG KH3. I'd rank them like
KH2FM->KH3->KH2OG->KH1FM->KH1OG
Lest we forget how original KH2 didn't even have a fucking DODGE ROLL!
Grayson Bell
what the fuck I hate Frozen more now
Jace Cruz
Outside of speedrunners and autists very few people cared about final mix, sorry to say.
Kevin Thomas
The slide was fun, the problem was the treasure shit. The only mini-games that I didnt liked were chef's. Not hard, just annoying without those 2 gourmand items and then finding the food was a chore. In this version you dont even need the food boosts, I never used them once, same as the links i barely used them just tried them to see how they were.
Noah Fisher
>slices off her own arm with her ponytail
Lucas Rogers
>use these models for your game >they don't work can we change them >no Frozen was a mistake.
Asher Russell
Food is very useful in Lv.1 Proud.
Leo Miller
at least the base combat system of KH2 was a solid foundation to build upon, unlike kh3. what the fuck are they gonna do, just remove magic and attraction flow? both of them are extremely broken but without them the game tedious. Its a design flaw that will take alot of time and effort to fix, which i doubt they are willing to do.
Sebastian Martinez
The gummiship bosses were more enganging or that ghostship in the south of Caribbean
Hunter Moore
>these look bad so I don't approve them >can I change them? >no
Wyatt Hall
Everyone has problems with everyone "jobbing" to the heartless tornado but honestly the size of it is immense and you wouldn't even know where to begin to "hit" it. Riku was the only one and he still just evaporated on it, so I think its a little unfair to compare that gigantic tornado of multiple demon tides to a singular tide or a tower which is what some people are doing. Could it have been written cooler? Yeah of course, but I don't consider a giant tornado of heartless that evaporate you on contact to be jobbing. And with how I feel about a lot of shit in KH, the stupid stuff is almost always done to setup a cool thing after it, which I think is how you are feeling. and the final world and the dives against the lich definitely delivered on it for me
As for the xion stuff, there's a pretty important plot confirmation made after monsters inc in the cutscene in the gummiship. Ienzo mentions that Sora retains all the memories of Ventus, Roxas and Xion but they are compartmentalized and dormant. Its why Sora suddenly has feelings of what those three characters would feel and react to, like calling out at times to go to the realm of darkness because of Ven's memories he retains and being triggered and its why he recognizes Xion
Please just don't respond to the bait, like its clear how obvious it is he is samefagging himself
Jacob Watson
So fucking satisfying when they teamed up to finish him off. My one hope for this game was more attention given to Donald and Goofy and they seriously delivered.
Christian Parker
Who is Yamazaki? He sounds kind of annoyed about Frozen.
Brandon Clark
The game wanting you to care about the mobile game was the dumbest shit. And harnessing the power of mobage whales to fight the super heartless mass was gay.
Aiden Lewis
I can prove i'm not him with just one sentence. I loved KH3, think it's on par with 2FM and better than vanilla KH2. I just think the specific issue with Elsa's hair is stupid. And i just hate Frozen.
Jose Bailey
Why is there a KH thread on Yea Forums? Is it to escape 'him'?
Jackson Cruz
Fuck off barry
Grayson Brooks
Was it kino?
Definitely enhanced by the controller otherwise not making noises for the rest of the game.
imagine a major game series throwing all its chips in moving forward on fucking mobile game lore. top kek
Jonathan White
What? The hair stuff? I find production behind the scene stories like that interesting.
Brayden Perry
He's the art director so probably works pretty close with Nomura.
Ethan Barnes
To give a reason for Sora to get involved in the plot of the next saga. They shared paopu fruits so you know they are destinied to always find each other
Gavin Foster
funny thing is that since they didn't allwo elsa to be a party member they got her to voice marshmallow instead and just tuned the voice down
If you look at the comparison video you see the Kingdom Hearts team actually fixes the movie mistake when recreating the scene. Kingdom Hearts literally fixing Disney's mess ups.
Colton Wood
Wasn't their original defense that it just looked/"flowed" better so they just went with that clipping?
Ian Clark
This thread has just been giving me so many things to laugh at Frozen for.
Sounds like the Frozen team just doesn't want to admit to a mistake.
Christian Ramirez
How pathetic is it that a video game company is able to recreate the work of an "animation studio"
Jacob Cooper
>literal 1:1 recreation This can't be real
Wyatt Lewis
Based Square managed to make Elsa hotter
Matthew Bell
I hope we never see the damn cloak again, only MoM wearing it is ok.
Adrian Edwards
I've noticed that Kingdom Hearts 3 is so easy that nobody asks for strategy on how to beat it. We're the other games like this?
Caleb Hall
I dont get Nomura, sometimes he is awful and sometimes he pulls stuff like Final World, with top tier aesthethics and atmosphere.
Then there is the star messages of the dead people, they are fucking amazing, Nomura can actually write good shit when he wants to, they convey the feeling of relationship and hearts better than the main game.
Samuel Moore
Fuck off barry
Anthony Morgan
Not just a 1:1 recreation but one that fixes the technical errors of the original movie. It's like they decided to do Let it Go, but better.
Alexander Edwards
>Olympus:Not having hades as a boss was huge missed opportunity but otherwise was okay >Toy Box: Final boss was ass but otherwise great world >Corona:Sora and Marluxia should have had way bigger roles but hey at least it wasn't as bad as Frozen >Arendelle:Utter shit. Larxene and the final boss are the only saving graces. >Monsters: Final boss was underwhelming and randal really should have been a boss but decent world over all. >Pirates:Wasn't interested in all the optional stuff but ending was pure kino. >BH6: Liked how it was an actual decent sequel to the movie, way too short however. Everything after the disney worlds was pure fanservice that you could tell Nomura had a bunch of cool ideas that he wanted to happen but didn't have a clue on how to implement them into the game properly which made everything feel rushed. If the DLC and crit mode can actually give the game some challenge i'll be satisfied with what we got.
>was literally kicking the shit out of Vanitas until Vanitas went bitch mode and she had to throw herself in front of an attack to make sure no damage was done to Ventus
Justin Gutierrez
Wait, what? I think I might missed that one.
I dont know why they arent talked that much, they are pretty good, the couple and the fighting couple were good.
Kevin Ramirez
>That one star that died during childbirth
there is also one who talks about his constant feud with another person and after he's dead he realizes that his enemy was basically his only friend and his closes one.
this reminds me of barry
Zachary Bell
Is this your new tactic Barry? Cringe
Owen Perry
He's an artist at heart, so it's easy to believe he can conceive pretty stunning stuff like that. It's kind of why KH is so cool because there is almost always those moments of clever and well done sequences in each game. Its the games where he kind of gets to be unhinged story wise which is why he goes places in the plot where, love it or dislike it, you're shocked about where his mind took him
Evan Robinson
You need to stop.
I dont think all the messages are after dead. I think they are just reminiscing life
Chase Morris
>that one star that's a kid waiting for their dad to come find them
Not really. All battle gates are trivialized with the power of thundaga
Wyatt Morales
>waited for Evan to backstab Sora and the gang >never happens
The fuck? So does he and Demyx have to kill themselves to return to normal?
William Perry
I dont know whats with dive to hearts but they always hold my breath.

>"I find myself here, lighter than before, unburdened. All my pain and responsibility, gone. But something in this new ease keeps catching at the corners of my mind. Is it alright for me to be here like this? There is a faint memory. A sound. Others may find it grating, but it warmed my heart. That crying... I have to find it. Embrace it. The sweet weight I carried. My dear beloved, burden."
Pretty much all of them were really heavy, i also liked the one about the artist that died and thought his lord wouldn't miss him but apparently he's the one that's thinking about him.
Jace Hall
I'm pretty sure they are all dead souls that are being kept there because someone in life want them alive, like how sora is there because of kerry
Brayden Garcia
It may be a little bit of autism unironically, because it can breed pretty cool pieces of art.
Also if you haven't noticed, there are THIRTEEEN stars in the final world to talk to. Nomura will throw the number thirteen in at any chance
Carson Rivera
How do you unlock the Power of Waking and is it unique to people or just a skill that can be learned?
Ian Hill
>You need to stop You first
KH3 is GOTY and no amount of your shitposting will change that
He's great at creating concepts and out there ideas. But when it comes to writing characters relationships (platonic and especially romantic) he's not so good. He needs the novel or manga writers to step in here.
Juan Young
Yeah I honestly thought Vexen was bullshitting when he said he was on Ansem's side because he just makes a 180 out of fucking nowhere
The Power of Waking is the final test to earn the Mark of Mastery, that's what KH3D was all about, Riku and Sora gaining the power via the sleeping worlds.
However, what the Power of Waking is MEANT to do is wake sleeping worlds, what Sora uses it to do is revive the dead. That's not what the powers purpose is, and he essentially made a deal with the devil by using it in that way.
Lincoln Turner
Oh. Ooooh Oh damn. Does anyone have all stars transcribed? Honestly they are pretty good and not talked/shared enough here.
Wyatt Wood
You could say the real twist was that Vexen was actually telling the truth to Ansem. The reports make it clear that he was a good guy since the beginning.
Jayden Butler
barry finally reveals himself, good eye ti the user who caught him
At this point I think is one dude talking to himself, where are the mods.
Ryan Flores
-Fixed most if not all the problems people had from the vanilla KH2 -Added more cool keyblades, bonuses, synthesis items, etc -More story and cutscenes explaining shit -More areas and a cool challenge dungeon -More challenges in general -Shit ton of postgame bosses -Critical Mode
From the sounds of it they are basically going to be doing the same thing for KH3 based of the recent announcement so people will probably be praising KH3FM when that comes out and has shit like Gilgamesh as a secret boss or something
Isaac Roberts
Hirokey123 you can talk to them with your buddies on gamefaqs, get the fuck out
Josiah Hall
I wonder if the stars were just generic dead people or each someone of significance.
Ian Davis
>what the Power of Waking is MEANT to do is wake sleeping worlds
I don't understand this. I didn't play DDD so I only have a mild understanding of the overall events. What are "sleeping worlds"?
Austin King
>sora had the power of waking this whole time this is some BS writing
Caleb Rivera
Are you alright nigga?
Aaron King
Linking the thread in irc works best.
Angel James
don't you have xv dlc to play nigger
Josiah Cooper
That's literally my first post ITT you obsessed shill
What's wrong with watching characters other than Sora finally be able to kick enemy ass?
Luis Hughes
>Does anyone have all stars transcribed? Seconding this, the only ones i've found are through youtube comments please spare me.
Here are 2 more. >We were always together. Practically joined at the hip. We'd wear the same cloths, eat the same food, go to the same places. We were an identical pair- like walking alongside a mirror. So why is it just me here now? There's this feeling. Calling to me. Pulling at me. And now I share it. Feel it as my own. We are always together." >"That's strange. I'm running and running. but I can't get to see Papa. Oh! This is Hide-and -Seek! I love Hide-and-seek! I'm going to find Papa. He'll be so proud. Hmm.... I can't find him, Papa! Come out! Come out! ...I've looked so hard for him. Isn't he looking for me? Wait that's Papa's voice. I hear his voice! It's that light! I understand now. I just have to run towards that light!"
Landon Wilson
Worlds in Limbo that haven't fully returned from falling to darkness.
Hudson Bailey
At first I thought they were people we already knew since the first one I read was about the teaching and master and the feud between to people but I think its just random people.
Brody Evans
Worlds that the Heartless have devoured
Tyler Perry
They can also be worlds that are forgotten or sealed naturally, like Traverse town or fantasia.
Adam Jenkins
So Heartless devour worlds and then you use the Power of Waking to bring them back to the World of Light?
Yeah, I went through the same thought process. Just wondering if my initial impression was correct or not.
Nicholas Barnes
>You have to go run errands at 7 Disney locations to get the power of waking You joke about this user but have you considered it truthfully?
DDD: >unlock seven (7) sleeping keyholes and you will come out with the power of waking Its basically 7 disney adventures that got Riku to come out with the power
No, the stuff in KH1 brings them back for the most part. But some can't quite make it back and get stuck in limbo or sleeping and need an extra push. That's when the power of waking comes in.
The worlds are in a dream state, so you need to wake them up by unlocking their keyhole. Once that happens Sora would've theoretically mastered that power, but Young Xehanort nearly possessed him, so he lost the power of Waking.
Oliver Williams
>Character is warned by good and evil characters not to fuck around with the power of waking >Character fucks around with the power of waking >Pays the price
So that "traversing hearts to reach worlds, not for traversing worlds to reach hearts," was incredibly literal and you're just supposed to us it to get you to the respective world's keyhole to wake the world up?
Hudson Stewart
Who the hell is Koshiro?
Christian Cox
Going to 100% it now that DLC+Critical Mode is confirmed (Yes I am a good goy)
My two biggest complaints >Can't completely turn off Links, or at least Disney Amusement Park shill ones >Synthesis list doesn't tell you in the crafting screen if you have crafted it
Links are the summons you idiot, ATTRACTIONS are a separate mechanic
Josiah Sanchez
>synthesis items auto given over >go to shop >says you have 0 of the item >have no idea if I have 0 or 100 in the crafting forge
Gabriel Hughes
Basically, yes. A Keyblade Masters ultimate duty is to protect and preserve worlds. The Power of Waking is how they undo the damage the heartless cause. Sora used that power in the reverse. Tracking down his friends hearts as they careened towards oblivion to save them. But in doing so was essentially killing himself.
Literally, he fucked reality so hard that time reset.
>if you synthesize a new material you have to exit out of the menu and talk to the Moogle again if you want to use that material to make equipment
It's so stupid.
Lucas Hill
>Synthesis list doesn't tell you in the crafting screen if you have crafted it That annoyed me too, although you can see what you've crafted in your gummyphone. I just crafted them in batches, thematically (Fire equips, then Blizzard equips and so on, was easier to remember).
Robert Cruz
You're one to talk since you do nothing but shill FFXV every day.
Connor Phillips
KH2 did the same thing and it was annoying as hell back then too. I really wish they'd change the synthesis format.
Hunter Evans
Suddenly Sora reviving Kairi makes more sense. He literally found her heart to revive her after she died, I just presumed "Power of Waking" and didn't question the mechanics as it would work.
Henry Lewis
>for no goddamn reason Except it probably was for a reason, considering the secret ending
Andrew Jones
But he's still waking and restoring hearts, how is it the reverse?
Aaron Collins
World Hearts are not people hearts. When People die, they leave a Heartless and a Nobody, those things dying brings back the person who died.
Sora essentially used a method that distorted reality to bring back his friends.
Caleb Gray
Kingdom Hearts came out only 3 years out after Tarzan and 5 years after Hercules. That's actually a smaller gap than Frozen and Kingdom Hearts 3.
Jeremiah Jackson
But they originally wanted to use the Power of Waking to restore Ventus and he's a person. Or was that just Yen Sid giving them a one time pass to break the rules?
Andrew Watson
For each thing they fix with synthesis, a new challenger appears to fuck it up
Charles Richardson
Aree Tarzan timeless classics that everyone loved and brought so much joy to children and so much money at Disney? I didn't think so!
Jaxon Clark
Are Hercules and Tarzan* fuck i need sleep.
Alexander Gray
Ventus wasn't dead his heart was just in Sora's heart. So his conditions are the same as the Sleeping Worlds, do note that Sora routinely fucks reality right in its ass. Roxas and Namine Should NOT exist the way they do, they are glitches in reality because Sora even having other peoples hearts is NOT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD BE POSSIBLE
Sebastian Bennett
That's basically how it goes in KH2 and to a lesser extent 1.
In 2 it's "I gotta find Riku!" In 1 it's "I gotta find Riku and Kairi!" In 3 it's "I gotta find a way to help Roxas!"
There's never any concrete reason for them to land in the worlds they do, it's just where they end up.
You can do it on one person without a problem, Riku did it to save Sora but Yen Sid did mention its a dangerous task because you are essentially falling into the sleeping world to bring back someone's heart. Riku only did instead of Mickey who volunteered because Riku had already been doing it inadvertently during the entire time of DDD so it would be less dangerous for him being familiar with Sora's heart.
However in KH3 Sora clearly took it to the extreme and did the so called challenging thing 7 times in a row. They all would have truly died but Sora fucked with nature because those were people who were truly going to die
Hunter Nelson
In KH1 and 2 it's also to find the keyholes and seal them
William Martin
I agree with 2 but in 1 everything felt a lot more cohesive because the Disney villains were actually the main threat for the most of the game with their little League of Evil. So whenever you got to a new world, it wasn't just searching for Kairi and Riku and the King, you were taking down one of these fuckers. Also sealing the keyholes was super important.
Even when KH2 came out in 05/06 whenever it was, I felt disappointed that Sora didn't have any grand tasks on the world and only used his keyblade to unlock the path to the next world since there were no keyholes.
Christopher Roberts
Obvious DDD2 sequel, seeing as how Riku is in it, too. Probably going to be how Sora save Kairi or some shit.
Noah Robinson
Do not even pretend that looking for Riku in KH2 was emphasized to the extent that looking for them in KH1 was. Each world in 1 generally gets you closer to the mystery of where they went. In 2 you can barely tell that Sora is even bothering to do anything. In 3 it's even worse.
Benjamin Cruz
Who?
Dylan Brown
There's no keyholes in 2. That animation with the keyhole is just Sora unlocking paths to other worlds.
Aaron Hall
t. Barry
Luis Young
Zoomers care about them. They love their Marvel shit and I'd be shocked if the next game didn't feature any Marvel or Star Wars-based worlds.
Isaac Watson
Synthesis was a problem. There should be a sign of the ones you did already, instead of going into the gummi menu and look at the list and then go back and do the ones you didnt
Another stupid thing is the adversaries list not saying what those enemies drop. It would save time. Another problem I had was missing Orichalcum+. Since the game doesnt list where I got those I thought it was the Flan ones, since I read faqs, guides, comments with people giving different scores, some would say "you need 36k" others "27k" when I had 32k in some. Since I couldnt remember each ones jumped in joy or not, i had to do some again, until I realized, I WAS MISSING THE FUCKING MAIL ONE AND THE GAME DOESNT TRACK WHAT YOU GET IN THAT SHIT. I used the postcards so many times and didnt got one that I thought I got it early in the game, but nope, my luck decided it had to be over 100 times until i got it, Same as the gourmand ring which I got very late ingame
Aaron Perry
Well each time he has to do something. He can only move forward to the worlds that present themselves to him so he just moves along and goes through the motions until the worlds show him something
Inb4 the entire fucking series is just one big time loop.
Evan Perez
>No Hades +Titans boss fight with both Hercules AND Zeus as party members >No Heartless Randall boss fight >Hans literally has no lines, don't even see his face >No Aladdin world with King of Thieves storyline even though I'm kinda tired of Aladdin >"Black Powder" doesn't play in KH3 at all (that I know of)
Brandon Barnes
I was just commenting on the bit about kh3 using more recent properties. (i know in general that's true, I just think it's easy to forget that kh1 wasn't that far removed from the disney renaissance.)
Brandon Evans
I'm 7 treasures away from a platinum trophy and I had no fucking clue this happened. But I'm talking about one of the worlds for sure, because I didn't do any cooking until post game.
I swear it was in Corona but it was definitely in one of the Disney worlds first. The only reason I know is because when it happened at the end of the game I pieced together that it must have happened earlier and I wasn't crazy
Isaac Scott
Hans turning into the coolest heartless is honestly better than his character actually being in the game. I actually hated that character and that twist in the movie
Gabriel Morgan
I'm still pissed we didn't have these three as a superboss trio battle.
It's sad that people are hoping a DLC is going to fix all of this game's problems. It's painfully obvious Nomura and Squeenix have no fucking idea what they're doing and rushed to "finish" this game.
Nolan Brooks
I hope so. Be nice to have a Final Fantasy superboss that isn't Sephiroth. Hell, be nice to have a Final Fantasy superboss at all since it's been since KHII that we've had one.
Julian Thomas
The difference is that the other games have more OC worlds and you visit them multiple times
Luis Cox
I was personally hoping 3 would fix that, but I was stupid to think it would change :\
Jayden Murphy
My big issue is that this game is paced pretty much exactly like DDD, which was just awful KH2's pacing was so much better and that was over a decade ago
Colton Rodriguez
>Ansem doesn't have CUM GUARDIAN during the fight (probably because Terra being restored or something) >Xemnas doesn't go Zebra mode >Young Xehanort doesn't go full Mysterious Figure (him using those 2 "blades" I mean instead of the keyblade version of them) The music for that fight is fucking great tho.
Adrian Stewart
Well not all DLC is inherently bad, unfortunately there are some which abuse it though.
Dominic Ramirez
>Ansem doesn't have CUM GUARDIAN during the fight (probably because Terra being restored or something) CUM GUARDIAN was Terra's Heartless, and Sora was able to break Xehanort's hold over it and let it and Lingering Will return to Terra's body.
James Rodriguez
What are the chances of more playable characters for DLC? it's pretty weird they designed riku's gameplay only for like 2 minutes I just want to play as best boy
