William the Chad
I liked the bat spirit thing you could get the most I think, but once I had my waifu back I just used her. William was cool but once I unlocked Fuku I just played as her.
I wish I saw this poster earlier, long before the thread died.. Oh well. Just for you, bad-at-video-games user.
Post the objectively best spirit guardian for general use.
Was Yasuke the 1st black weeb?
I just used Kato the whole game for the Ki bonuses.
I wanted luck so I went with daiba and then switched to ito as soon as I could

Otherwise, well played.
Post Saiorse, the objectively cutest and best girl, instead.
I played his game for an entire year and I'm looking forward to the second one.
His game is probably the only game that has 100% pure and good waifus. All of them.
Janomecho is my death waifu.
Nice!
That's why is a waste of time to try to discuss Nioh on Yea Forums: they never learn to play so they blame the game, using as justification the Diablo loot and say outright bullshit like the game being unbeatable without abusing Sloth.
Even Hino-enma?
I will admit that as difficulty starts to crank up, skill becomes pretty meaningless when cheese builds become required. But yeah, on the first few difficulties you have no excuse.
It doesn't even then. You practically triple your damage output with skill alone, and you can be untouchable with proper defense. The most powerful tools in the game need little to no build investment as well, just take a look through your items sometime.
I did fine without an actual build up to Way of the Demon. I just started Way of the Wise so let's see how it goes.
Well, to be fair the higher difficulties are intended for the obsessed so it makes sense that you need to work on your build, but for someone who only plays up to Way of the Strong? Bull fucking shit.
Sheer skill won't get you very far into WotN or abyss, not without a strong build to back you up. And a build alone can supplement skill entirely at that point. That's why I don't like WotW or WotN very much.
>I just started Way of the Wise so let's see how it goes.
You're only just now hitting the ramp. WotD has really nice difficulty in my opinion, but WotW feels about 3 times harder.
You can land a fucking iai on a downed opponent? My entire gameplay has been a lie.
you get one hit on a downed opponent before they even try to recover and the second will cause them to recover immediately, so iai + final blow is almost always the best possible option. Depending on when iai lands, you can almost always get a full combo into their back on wake up too
Name a better weapon than the Odachi. You can't
basically all of them except tonfa
Tell that to, well, me. Nearly going into WotN DLC with a build that does absolutely nothing for me offensively and far weaker weapons, but with a few non-build specific tricks (even with builds being as loose as they are) and effects for survival and I feel no reason to stop now. Build alone supplements skill from the very beginning sadly, as deeply as weapons being too high damage letting people kill things too fast. It's not a symptom of later difficulties even if they aren't quite as well designed as they could be.
It's not autistic to answer (You)s we missed from the last thread?
In that case,
Full Kingo, actually. Fucker just hits hard and I didn't stack too many buffs and debuffs. Was playing on WotStrong with full 150+15 gear.
wait a minute hes using a katana why he has more points on skills instead of heart? iwhen played this game i used to put all my point on heart on my katana build , i was being a retard all this time ,and had to increase skill instead?
>Build alone supplements skill from the very beginning sadly
That's true, but all I'm saying is I feel like the last two difficulties are far less reliant on skill and far more reliant on build optimization. They just took it to an extreme. I didn't even mind the diablo loot climb that much, but they really needed to ton down the impact some of these stats make. I think you should be able to clear all difficulties with sub-optimal shit gear as long as you're really good, but you eventually get so much shit thrown at you with damage that scales up practically exponentially that that it really just isn't possible. That's my biggest problem with the game.
skill gives more skill points, which is why I had enough points for all of those weapon skills and I didn't need the ki anyway, it's also the stat shared with 1kat and kusarigama so that both weapons benefit from it instead of just 1kat
You're favorite spirit. I used the pheonix spirit though, because the spirit attack was fucking rad. Wish Kara-jishi wasn't the absolute worst, though.
>tfw odachi guardbreak into moonlit snow knockdown into weapon swap ki pulse sign of the cross into weapon swap ki pulse odachi final blow from behind into weapon swap sign of the cross back attack knockdown into ...
That's why I keep telling people not to take anything at face value and experiment with everything to learn for themselves.
And again, nice timing. 1kat scales with Heart, Skill and Strength, but scaling damage isn't as big a deal as the weapon level, and stats are important for their other bonuses which all builds benefit from. Heart's Ki increase has a softcap at 15.
>the world's first gaijin samurai
I liked Wirriam-sama's game and hope that the sequel is just as fun. Hopefully without the Diablo loot system, though.
Kato for CCD.
When you can equip two, I like the Bat for an extra 6% CCD From Behind.
I wound up liking the loot system. I just want more enemy variety, and less retarded damage all around. Killing anything with two Moonlit Snows or getting OHK'd isn't my idea of a fun fight.
William hates Japanese culture though
looks like chris hemsworth
I didn't like the loot system because most of the time you were just being overloaded by trash drops that felt like they only served to be vendor fodder in one way or another.
Major upgrades felt meaningful though and I liked how crazy you could get with set-bonuses at end-game. Pity about the massive stat inflation...
>No William on Nioh 2
I already miss him
>overloaded by trash drops
Any Spirit Iron Chunk (or thing that disassembles into one) is a good drop when you're rolling for gear.
Fuck Rirriam to be desu.
>Not being hyped for the obligatory boss battle against an old, grizzled William with Saorise and Nekomata at his side
I can agree to an extent that they relied a lot on number pushing but not that it makes impossible or even difficult to keep up with. The mode itself is a challenge despite that but it damn well should be. Like I said, the most powerful tools aren't found in a specific build or need great investment and while difficult (it's the fifth dance after all) it is still possible. I don't think de-emphasizing builds and the RPG elements is necessary or a good way to go either, a lot of the game's strengths come from the relationships between those halves of it. The balance isn't quite there but that's not the fault of the loot system, it's present from the very start. The stat inflation just exposes further what I told people would happen... two years ago? Time flies.
I agree. The drop rates should be cut by a good 50% at least, with gear having more practical stats when it does drop. Get this break+6 shit outta here.
Use attack debuffs. I swear every time I need to do this.
None of it is trash though, thanks to the variety of ways you can funnel them into whatever you need. Which takes a matter of seconds.
You should pay attention to how much the average enemy actually drops, especially at the start of the game where you would want to offer things. Also don't use a bad example to illustrate a good point, there are a few too many superfluous effects but Break is a core stat.
I'm currently going through my first run. What's all these WotN, WotD, abyss and higher difficulties, and also +X gear? I just figured new game+ worked like in Dark Souls and I don't see any way to upgrade gear like that yet.
Why is there always a copyright text on most Nioh pic or video?
You'll find out in good time. Basically when you beat the base game a new difficulty opens up which you can swap to freely. Other things open up too. Try not to think of anything in Souls terms.
im about to start nioh for the first time
should I go into light armor or heavy?
I've read guarding is useful in this game when using heavy armor but with light armor you can attack more
>You should pay attention to how much the average enemy actually drops
I do. I cap 500/500 after just a few missions. Then I have to waste a bunch of time scouting for good inheritable, selling but Break is a core stat
that does practically nothing, even doing what it does, it's like 8% of your weapon's total break, it's worthless
there are so many stats that are infinitely more important like the plethora of potential damage bonuses, famdam, CtA, CCD, etc.
I'm guessing they use the in-game recording/sharing tool.
>What's all these WotN, WotD, abyss and higher difficulties, and also +X gear? I
NG+, NG++, etc.
Abyss is an optional dungeon/tower kind of thing you unlock in one of the NG+s. Either + or ++.
Divine gear is the penultimate gear rarity, and can have levels beyond its core level. For the first two NGs, Exotic-and-below gear can only go to 150. Divine gear can go to 150+15.
>should I go into light armor or heavy?
Depends on a lot of things. No real easy answer.
Because Yasuke was irrelevant. He was essentially Nobunaga's pet that he kept around for people to gawk at. William on the other hand actually respected, contributed to Japan and was given land and a waifu. Yasuke on the other hand just fucked off from history after getting BTFO'd by Mitsuhide never to be mentioned again.
Go through the first few forced missions then farm the player graves for ez good gear. You'll get a medium armor.
You know you don't have to pick everything that drops up, and the game even has options to disable the option to pick up gear below a certain rarity.
Damn klepto complaining about having his hands full kek.
There are 5 (I think) difficulties. It's not like dark souls at all. It's 1:1 identical to diablo, including special red mobs and everything.
NG+ (WotS) unlocks divine gear, which instantly makes purples obsolete dissassemble fodder
NG+++ (WotW) unlocks ethereal gear
the + rating on divine gear can be incremented by combining it with another divine weapon with the same + rating, it's a really long grind
I see, thanks.
yeah, the reason black weebs are so common is because Yasuke actually went back to africa and fathered a thousand children. Anthropologists just haven't figured that out yet.
>but with light armor you can attack more
It also does more damage baseline.
Oh I see, thanks for explaing the gear.
Saoirse still and forever best girl.
you grow a great hobo beard
you do though, that's free gold and/or materials, and every piece has a chance to have an extremely good inheritable, like +25% equipment drop rate, or a perfect CtA.
plus I can't exactly not pick up divines, which is basically the only thing that drops because of my luck
Where’s Tom Cruise when you need him?
Did they fug?
Nioh seemed like a really cool game, but the amount of items they gave you started to make playing the game kind of obnoxious. Having to worry about whether or not each of a thousand drops was worth keeping made me just tire of the game. Maybe someday i'll go back to it and just say "fuck the crafting system" and play it like a proper diablo game.
So why exactly is there mission rewards inside the DLC that's purple but not green? For example I cleared the gauntlet submission where you have to fight the Braves then Sasuke then Sanada, and the guaranteed reward for that is a fire spear that blinds enemies on fire, but the spear is fucking purple and therefore useless.
So what's Nioh 2 going to be about? Will we see William again? What about his half Japanese children Joseph and Susanna?
>Use attack debuffs. I swear every time I need to do this.
That only addresses half the problem
If you look at any video of someone playing Nioh, they just circle behind whatever they're fighting and BTFO it in five seconds or less.
Even being shit at the game but having good gear it's the same for me, I get OHKO'd because no debuff stacking, but kill literally every boss in two Moonlit Snows or two Final Blows.
If you embrace it, and work on crafting a good set, it's really fun.
>What about his half Japanese children Joseph and Susanna?
what
Eh you cared too much, you can do your first run just using whatever the highest level uncommon gear you find and dismantle everything else. Kill some player phantoms every once in a while for a new weapon if you're feeling a bit weak. The autism only starts after your first clear.
Depends on personal preference, the prologue gives you both to try out. Guarding is important in general along with all defensive/evasive options.
I mean each specific enemy but regardless, considering how long most missions are and how fast you can cut through a full box that's perfectly reasonable. It takes me around 5 full clears on main missions at WotN stats to get full. Actually, make sure you aren't carrying items and equipment you don't need. Inheritables don't take long to look for and account for maybe 100 of the box. It's a pretty short comfy rest period to me.
Speaking of the stats as they are, damage is so easy to come by and not very interesting, not like better guard breaking which has a bigger impact on how you play. If the stats were fixed Break could have more of an effect if necessary.
>having to worry about whether or not each of a thousand drops was worth keeping made me just tire of the game
meanwhile this fag is half way through the game cruising on fucking level 5 pirate armor he probably got off of the first or second mission
>No news about Nioh 2 or Code Vein
Kinda worrying
What do you mean, what. You do know William was a real person, right?
You can sort by level and rarity to make it a matter of looking at 4 or so.
Defiling I guess?
you're being a trickster aren't you
That's when you say nuts to shitty prerelease balance changes, grab a wooden sword and become a proper samurai.
>Code Vein
fuck off
>half way through the game cruising on fucking level 5 pirate armor
user, you can de-level yourself at any time you want, and you can see his Amrita on the floor (with 0 Amrita in it), meaning he'd died at least twice.
Who knows how many times he died making that webm, he may very well be doing anything but 'cruising', and it's irrelevant anyway because, the other user, though OCD, isn't wrong: being gud at the game =/= not being interested in rare Inheritable. Two very different thinks.
Piss off and use google, mate.
William Adams was a real person. Do you think they just decided to make a game about some white dude in Japan out of nowhere?
best heavy armor sets aren't available until the very end of the game (obsidian and tatenashi)
after you clear the first two areas (about 4 or 5 main missions) you get access to the intermediate ninjustu dojo mission that you can farm for iga set, so I would say a kusarigama kunai throwing light armor build is one of the earliest you can do
builds don't really start to matter until around NG++/+++ and you don't need to fret around stats when NG+ is going to make all of your gear immediately obsolete anyway
What about it makes you so mad?
yes
>Inheritable. Two very different thinks.
Inheritables*, things*.
JFC.
he gets to fuck fuku
when are we getting nioh 2 news, feels like its been ages since it got revealed
Capcom cancelled it and put all their staff on MHW shit.
>meaning he'd died at least twice
I died a few times (probably about 5 or 6) until I got a recording that I was happy with. I was compelled to make the webm because I was literally at the same exact point the guy complaining about the game's combat in the other thread was. Yeah, the game is pretty easy on NG, even without any defense. I am enjoying my severely underleveled pirate armor with +38 luck per piece very much.
This guy was less interesting than the peasants he killed.
>He is the world's first gaijin samurai
That was Yasuke
As usual, the White Man taking credit for others' achievents.
We wuz samurais n sheit.
what new weapons will we get
Phoenix was pretty useful when I moved onto the dlc and 1 shot hits were Coming at me at random
Yasuke was a zoo attraction. He wasn't even killed when he was captured because he wasn't considered a person so they just let him go. William was actually respected and honored.
Does actual history trigger you? Both existed but Yasuke served Oda 20 tears before Williams came to Japan. I thought this was known considering Yasuke is litterally in Nioh.
Yasuke became Odas retainer user that's a pretty high postion if you ask me.
maybe something to channel magic more then just using talismans?
yeah but oda is literally japanese hitler so it doesn't matter
Compared to William's achievements and legacy, it's not really that impressive in the long run.
>Does actual history trigger you?
No?
I wasn't denying it, I was mocking it.
Tengen Kujaku, because fuck having a gimped minimap.
you could just spend one point in onmyo instead though
I know there are onmyo spells to ungimp your minimap, but aren't those temporary, so you have to keep re-casting them? (I don't know, since I never bothered unlocking them.)
they last like 4 or 5 minutes and are cheap as hell
Nobunaga was actually competent in warfare.
So? Hitler shook a blacks hand at the Olympics when FDR wouldn't.
Getting bitches pregnant is only 5% of an achievement.
Sorry user you can't tell these days.
They are, but they last so long you can go through levels with two or so. Saiorse both comes with Enemy Sense and has the divination buff with a similar length on her spirit attack too. Another example of her being best girl.
>Hitler shook a blacks hand at the Olympics when FDR wouldn't.
That's a problem. Blacks aren't people.
Niether are Germans are the Irish and yet here we are.
Koei Tecmo, Sega and several other Japanese publishers watermark all their stuff captured on the PS4's share function. Dunno if it's the case for Switch and Steam stuff as well.
Not sure if this is the right thread to ask but why is everyone using the same Nobunaga design. It seems that every anime or vidya is using it.
Well it makes sense that Nioh sticks generally to his Nobunaga's Ambition design considering they're both Kou Shibusawa's brainchild.
>Nobunaga's Ambition
Holy shit I never knew. Is it good?
>Getting bitches pregnant
If you think that's what I meant by William's achievements in Japanese history, then you're fucking retarded. Then again you're the one trying to hype up a glorified pet monkey as important figure so I don't know why I expected any better.
Yes.
Bet he never thought he'd have a video game 400 years later
>ungimped minimap
I'm sorry, can you explain this? what is the purpose of highlights on the minimap? I've never really been severely beaned by a trap, is it for finding Kodama?
It points out kodama and treasure as well as enemies. It's convenient.
I miss playing this game.
