Hey guys, I know that you guys are not gonna believe this but I am someone who has connections to one of the higher ups on the business side of Nintendo. We have been friends since we were children and since we're so close, he's shared with me some of the information on the first and second Fighter's Pass and possibilities for the future.
First off, lemme give you a brief explanation on how all of this works. So as you all know, Nintendo provided a list of characters for Sakurai to put into Smash Brothers Ultimate as DLC. Some of these characters included those that were meant for base roster but eventually scrapped and others were added on. Nintendo has had most of the DLC for the first Fighter's Pass as early as March 2018. Since then, representatives from Nintendo along with the legal department have been meeting with representatives from other companies to make an offer, negotiate and make a final agreement to allow them into the game. Pretty standard industry stuff. Most of the second fighter’s pass is locked except for one character and you’ll probably be able to guess who.
With all of that said, here are the characters that are in the first and second Fighter's Pass:
1. Joker from Persona 5. 2. Erdrick from Dragon Quest - To be announced at the next Nintendo Direct slated for April 23rd 3. Steve from Minecraft -Announced at E3 -Was originally base game 4. Fortape -The currently unannounced final evolution for Grookey. -I think it’s supposed to be a play on words forte and ape -Set to release with Pokemon Sword and Shield to promote the game 5. Waluigi -Originally Base Game -Announced February 2020)

Fighter Pass #2 (2020-2021): 1. Crash Bandicoot -They want to start off the new Fighter Pass with a bang -Should be announced at E3 next year 2. Sepiroth -Coinciding with a Switch Release of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Late 2020 -Currently not locked due to difficulties with Square 3. Captain Toad -To Help Promote a currently Unannounced Captain Toad Sequel Early 2021 4. Sylux -Released Mid 2021 to coincide with Metroid Prime 4 5. Banjo and Kazooie -To further show what Nintendo and Microsoft hope to be a success, Banjo and Kazooie will be released as a final thank you to the fans for their continued support of Smash Brothers, Nintendo and more along with the long awaited Banjo Threeie which will be released on both Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in Holiday 2021
Finally, Fighter Passes 3-5 haven't been finished yet. But Nintendo has at least listed the following as characters they would like to include:

Whether or not you choose to believe me is fine by me, but as time goes on, you’ll see. Expect big things coming up for Nintendo in the future.
