Gravity Rush 2 is my favorite Open world Sandbox game.
Kohei Tanaka is god damn amazing. His works are the most fucking beautiful stuff. My biggest worry prior to 2s release was whether he'd be coming back to do the soundtrack again and when they said he was I was so god damn happy.
If you haven't, please PLEASE watch Gunbuster and Diebuster. The soundtracks for those were my favourite works from him until the Gravity Rush games matched them. They have that same swaying, emotional orchestra sound to them.

They're also just great shows in their own right, but a big part of why is definitely the dudes fantastic fucking compositions.
I really think he was the perfect pick for GR too. He fits that whimsical feeling of completely free movement so well. I'd love his work on any game, but he's just so right on GR.
It's the best Sandbox game of this gen. It's fun as hell.

Thats Annapurna Interactive, not Epic. And they've only gotten the license to publish ThatGameCompany's games on PC, nothing else so far. Its more than likely a similar deal to when Atlus has published Sony games like Demon Soul's westside. And if I had to take a personal guess as to the specific reason, due to the struggle that TGC has nearly always been in, Sony allowed this deal to be struck to let TGC get an injection of additional funds due to a new market. Thats my personal theory
