Was KH3 really THAT horrible Yea Forums?

There's not much to talk about because most of the game is Disney filler, and asspulls. Threads just meme and talk about waifus which is fine I guess, but I don't see anything to talk about myself. Game was way overhyped but I'm glad I can be done with the series now.

Honestly I only played 1/2/3, but you should play 2 if you haven't. The story and dialogue is hot garbage but it's my favorite for the gameplay.

I actually quite enjoyed my time playing it, but the more I look back on the experience, the more the cracks begin to show. There are many small problems too numerous to list, but I think a proper Final Mix could salvage most of it. Big Hero 6 world though might have been a low point in the series. There's no saving that.

It's literally been too long since I played KH2 as a kid, it's lost all emotional value for me.

That being said KH1-2 are my favourite character action games with the ability point systems and making your own combos, how is that stuff handled in 3?

It's the same but you don't need it because they add all these stupid cutscene attacks that just kill all the enemies for you

3 could have done a lot better. The bones are there for a good system, but the difficulty is way to low to ever force you to experiment or try new things. Magic is really fun, and pretty much overshadows everything else.

This plus the fact story cutscenes got leaked like a week or two before the game came out so a lot of folks got their discussion done then.

It was only hyped because it took a long time to come out and because the games that came in between were on handhelds first.

The game is fine. Kingdom Hearts was never "great" outside of KH1.

Only the handheld games take "preplanning" for fights. KH1/KH2 is just "run in and hit thing and wait for Donald to heal you".

Square needs to hire better writers/translators/put Nomura on a leash, whatever it takes to fix the horrible writing in this series going forward. Even for Kingdom Hearts standards, it is bad. I'm not asking for earth-shattering Nobel laureate quality either. 1 and CoM did great with story and dilaogue, 2 was okay, but the rest have been dumpster fires, and the series hasn't recovered since.

You said it yourself. It was hyped even more than FFXV, but in the end forgotten even more quickly. It was simply a disappointment.

The story was absolutely awful. It wasn’t satisfying at all and the amount of asspulls was actually insane. Instead of wrapping everything up they leave cliffhangers for the next game. When, y’know. It’s the END OF THE XEHANORT SAGA. Kairi did nothing even though they hyped her doing shit since KH2. The Disney worlds were even more useless this time around because unlike literally every other game, Sora is just going there for shits and giggles.

I used to actually defend the guy, but the last few years have shown me how wrong I was. Nomura should just stick to character and world design. FF7 probably won't be very good.
