weapons aren't redundant, they all have different combination of stats and none is objectively better than another, it depends on your style

I wish there was more freedom on how to complete missions, some have to be linear for story purposes but others could have been more open

yeah horse aiming is hard as shit solely because the stick movement to keep the horse moving and the stick movement to aim overlap too much. Every time i try to really aim well from a horse I either veer to a side or stop entirely

It's the first game I've played in a really long time where I actually really enjoy just wandering around exploring the map

>four hours later remember theres still some sort of cowboy game away from the card table
world building is important and R* are good at it

really loved all the awesome easter eggs and weird places you could find off the beaten path exploring
really didnt like that there were all these awesome easter egg places and so many of them served no purpose other than "oh wow a cool thing happened here before you arrived"

I've spent an absurd amount of time hunting and catching wild horses in RDR2

Some of those were neat, like the meteor house and the crater nearby

did the same until Chapter 5, then I just couldnt fuck around much after that.

yeah, exactly. that was a great location, and i dont know how they would have made something intractable from that. but for example:

>mysterious hill home
>viking burial ground
off the top of my head. those should have been sidequest locations

hunting being in online consumed a portion of my life that i will never get back and thats ok
never bothered breaking horses much since you couldnt sell em in RDR and riding around with no saddle is probably testicular suicide
if i ever get around to RDR2 or it gets a pc release i need to get me a clydesdale so i can just parade across the moors like my ancestors

I want the fucking horse to work the way he did in RDR1. I want to be able to be in a full sprint and have my horse catch up to me to I can jump on without breaking stride.

No clydesdales unfortunately but you can get a big beefy black shire horse

The story mode definitely suffers from the restrictive mission design and being cinematic over providing replayability but there are just so many awesome situations that can happen in freeroam that it's easy to miss just how brilliant it is if you just beeline it to the missions or stranger missions. The slick animations and great gunplay only enhance the feeling. Like learning that you can do the cool duel draw outside of duels and use it on fuckers that get on your nerves. Or hopping from the balcony of a saloon to your horse waiting below and Arthur grabs the horse really appropriately.

Shires are actually the biggest horses in the world, there are a couple other large breeds you can get too, they have shitty stats but I like riding them anyway because they're so big and bulky
