DOA no where in sight

If only Melty Blood could get there as well

Does CrossTag being that low mean no new Persona Arena?

Based ultimate dominating

Persona 5 Arena would do gangbusters. Everyone smelled the cheap cash-in of Cross Tag a mile away.

Actual reason its so low is that there has been fucking nothing shown for 6 months.
The patch and new characters better show up fast, or people will drop it for good.

No, it's just not that deep of a game so people lost interest quickly. It's fun for a week, but there's not enough mechanics to make you keep playing beyond that. It is kusoge, but not because of the nig fag

Cross Tag isn't new any more, it had it's moment in the sun and now it's just that jank tag fighter that does a couple neat things but is overall not that interesting and people only really care about it because there's a big name behind it

Huh, that applies to DBFZ too actually

Hopefully there will be an eltnum in top 8 so melty will be there in spirit

>Soul Calibur that high
Yikes!

Why is Smash so high

>Smash beating SFV
>TEKKEN beating SFV
OH NO NO NO

New toy syndrome. It's why Samurai Shodown is up there despite not even having a release date.
You have to keep in mind this is nowhere near final. BBTAG attendance might have a last-minute burst after Heart and the last P4A guys get added. SamSho might end up being a kusoge in the level of Sen and playerbase take a dive. Sonicfurry might drop FighterZ to get free money from 11 causing people to flock back to it. You never know.

FighterZ is shit and only gained success because of the Dragon Ball name, what a surprise.

Attached: D0jIQDfUcAEmfll.jpg (1239x920, 44K)

Melee was finally killed so some of the underclass decided to move on to Ultimate following m2k.

It's brand new, it's the only Smash game, and it sold a shit ton.

Flash in the pan

>Thinking one person could kill a fighting game
>Not thinking it was that fiasco where Toei or some other company didn't want FighterZ represented in tournaments for a while
The game is also just straight up not very good. It's flashy and fun to look at, but compared to every game except Mashkken and Slow Fighter 5, it's not great.

why do you think toei was trying to squash tournaments? it was all a ploy to try and get soniccux's stink off the game. too bad, looks like its terminal now. they should have been more proactive.

you just sounds like you hate anything popular considering you pointed out your dislike for tekken and sfv too
what game do you play? some goober shit no doubt

Only the most refined and skill based of fighting games.

Wats wrong with SC6? I was thinking of buying it.

>smash wins again
starting to get bored of winning desu

It's a jankfest, much like all other SCs.
Also the voice acting is terrible but that might be just my opinion.

Why would Toei give a fuck about what some dumbass gaijin faggot is doing? They've always been real anal about their properties. Streaming the game in any capacity was the issue.

Modern Games: UNIST and SoulCal 6 (Casually)
Older Games: Skullgirls, VSav, Garou, Alpha 3, and 3S.

when is the evo

What happened with DBFZ?
Was it the little drama where there were no tournaments for like 2 months? Was that enough to make the playerbase take such a huge hit?

>not Biofreaks
Fucking casual.

None even come close to this absolute pinnacle of fightan.

Attached: FX_Fighter_cover.png (289x343, 214K)

For me, it was seeing DLC characters released that followed the same formula as the base cast. Mostly similar except for a little unique gimmick here and there. It got boring.

if all smash games are party games
and smash is number one
does that mean fighter games are better as party games?

Attached: 70C667CD-9C98-411C-8D3F-162A93F4939E.jpg (1200x716, 107K)

It turned out that while the devs were excited to tap into the Dragonball market, they forgot that by the time of late DBZ, every character fights exactly the same.

Next year, lads, next year

Attached: slap city strong.png (1143x640, 100K)

People thought DBFZ would survive? Pretty obvious it would die down fast when every single character except .. beerus had the same combo

Ultimate is the only Smash game that has unified the fanbase in some way.

it means party games are more popular you dumb fuck

Where's MvC2?

Attached: 1548606032466.jpg (781x673, 72K)

Too bad Harada was too late to save FighterZ. What a shame.

>sonicfox entering sc6
Time for him to get knocked out at 25th again

Does that mean UNIST is kusoge too seeing as Sonicfox won a major at that too a couple of years back?

It's a new game, to start. Everyone and their mother is into it and so everyone is ready to try to break out and make their name in it. Melee is also gone which means this is the only Smash option, and oddly enough it seems like a lot of folks are actually ready to move on from Melee for Ultimate, which I never thought would happen.

Fuck blazblue.

Good, it's a good game and the tournaments thus far have been great.
Not really. It's a 3d fightan so there's still the odd hitbox here and there or characters going off-axis, but the devs have been fixing those issues pretty consistently.

never heard of 6 7 and 9

7 isn't even out yet

Can you tell me about Unist?
It looks like generic aninu fighting game #729

No, I'm sure P5A will come eventually.

It helps that the roster viability is a lot better. Melee got boring as fuck to watch since you saw the same 5 characters every match. I've seen Pac Mans actually win grand finals in some smash tourneys. And even giga-nerfed Bayo won a tourney against Awestin's Ness.

It means party games as applied to smash bros are a made up genre and smash is in the platform fighter sub genre

Ultimate has your typical top tier characters, but no character is really "bad', and no character is absolutely auto-win.

>I guess SonicFox winning last year really marked it as a kusoge anime fighter
he didn't, kazunoko won

6. is an anime fighter
7. is the latest game of a legendary SNK fighting game series, and it's not even out yet.
9. is an anime tag fighter with characters from other anime fighter games.

I'm hoping animEVO will run it desu

It's more grounded than your average anime fighting game, there's no airdashing, no airblocking attacks from the ground either, a lot of big normals encourage keep the game in neutral often by letting most characters do a good job of keeping the others out, but it still has some elements that are more akin to an anime fighting game with the character variety and the long combos. It's sort of like a missing link between a game like Street Fighter and a game like Blazblue. It is fun, though I do have some problems with it, but it's a very good game still.

It's honestly incredible to me how massive Ultimate's roster is while still being rather well balanced. Maybe that's just because it's so new that the bullshit hasn't been discovered yet. But still, at least 85% of the cast feels totally viable.

UNIST for PS4 or PC?

Attached: 1496352074944.jpg (388x262, 41K)

AnimEvo hates non-Jap games unless they're super weeb. They are the most soulless tournament I've seen.

Nothing apart from create a soul (character customization) where you can put a fighting style in any character model leading to some weird properties that shouldnt online online. This shouldnt be too much of a worry at higher ranks online. Along with a slew of other problems online which has already been patched out, this is SC6 "concern." The balance has alreaey been fixed and its the most balance Soul Calibur to date.

I play on PS3/4, but it probably depends on your region.
Just play, dummy.

PC

Attached: 1526818707593.png (640x833, 122K)

Its called AnimEvo for a reason user. Also, you really cant make that comment about hating Western games when they ran Windjammers

Melty was in 2012 I think.

>w-we'll make CEO our new EVO!

>Windjammers
Is a Japanese game. There are western versions just like Windjammers, but Windjammers is made in Japan.

AnimEvo is garbage and they host a bunch of fighters the entrants don't even practice for just to say they play it for e-cred.

PS4 is the standard for most fighting games tourney's so thats what I play on

MK11 will be the best competitive MK. Did anyone really believe it would bomb?

Attached: 1551304653327.png (1513x857, 1.15M)

As much as I love him, this is because Sakurai didn't do the balancing for Ultimate and left it to the devs. Sakurai is a great game designer in most ways but balancing was not his forte and led to shit like Meta Knight in Brawl or Bayo in Sm4sh.

it means fighting games are for faggots and party games are superior

Thats what people said about MKX

Each version gets better

Smash games have the most entrants every year, that's why many are so salty at the lack of Melee.

I wonder if Tekken could beat SFV this year. It has been growing pretty well, and if they confirm a decent pot this year there is nothing really holding it back. Guess it also depends on SFV get anything good revealed this season, they had to bribe people last year

Glad SC6 is doing well and SamSho isn't last

Attached: 1543750593110.jpg (900x1235, 554K)

Melee knows how SF4 feels now. The top dogs get cut simply because some salty weebs cry the games are too popular.
Weebs=SJWs
Top Games=white men

All netherrealm games sell. Thats a given, the issue they have is retention cause they have a bad habit of breaking their own perfectly balanced games through patches and DLC characters that are broken (Predator in MKX)

They also tend to be not very interesting as a spectator game. The Injustass series gets it worse though

You can tell when someone is an animefag when they compare the disparity between X game to SF. Leave 3D fighters out of this. We know you don't play Tekken and you spend most of your time on some hentai website.

New Smash title and unlike Tr4sh people who liked Melee and PM don't hate this game because neutral isn't about staying in shield and waiting for the other player to get bored and use a move that isn't safe on shield anymore.

Melee got cut because Wizard had to make a choice between promoting Ultimate aka siding with Nintendo, or the Melee community, which of course, he sided with Nintendo. The guy has also been trying to search for a reason to drop Melee because its a logistical nightmare. ,

I've played it a bit, not very good at it though

Sounds like you are a butt hurt SFVfags. Go to your containment general

Attached: 1.png (495x160, 105K)

all of the MK games sell like 5 millions. All of them still die in a matter of a couple of months.

Attached: ddd2e898ed763d7502.jpg (604x720, 97K)

And you can tell someone is just upset with the mere comparison to SFV.

Injustice just had a 200+ man online tournament a few weeks ago.
NRS games can have legit online tournaments with cash prizes because their online isn't ass.

I hear the side tourney will be in one of the bathrooms, it wilk be streamed on a phone, get hype!

It's fun

hmmm hit a nerve
must be 100% true then

I love tekken I hope it stays up there

yeah it's a fun game, but every Jap game needs to fix their fucking online

Probably the most fun game to watch right now.

Attached: 71403502_p23_master1200.jpg (1200x675, 256K)

Not much really. Great game with the best single player content of the other fight games this gen.

Fuck (you)

Attached: 1550956547355m.jpg (724x1024, 80K)

Good point. Honestly, the guy does so much work alone that I'm surprised it took him so long to let others do what may be the hardest work in the game.

Why don't meleefags just have side tournaments? Mvc2 players been doing it for a longtime now. Sanford won it last year.

Easiest game on the list to get Into. Everyone and their mom thinks their a pro smash ultmate player. No tech to learn, all you have to do is play a lot.

Soul Calibur 6 is already months old. It is by no means New Toy. The game has proven itself to hold people's attention by actually being a game with consistent entrants in the East Coast, Europe and surprisingly beating anime in EvoJapan.

That's okay user

Based daddy Wong going to stroll into Evo playing Metallica and talking about lawnmowers and how smart his daughter is.
twitter.com/jwonggg/status/1101570094675554304?s=21

yeah, like the last melty tourny at evo with its whole 30 entry's taking place at 7am 10 years ago. meltys dead dude, online players don't go to events.

Why wouldn't you want to give other newer games a chance? Not being a mainstage event doesn't mean that you can't have a tourney at Evo.

>Smash games have the most entrants every year,
Why lie?

Attached: 18.jpg (1200x226, 60K)

is it me or is Tekken 7 getting bigger despite the somewhat harder learning curve? I thought it would've ran out of gas by now

Why do I have a feeling MK11 will actually be watchable? Every NRS game is garbage to watch because it's either a rushdown character or a turbo lame zoner, but for some reason I have a slight hope for the newest game.

Didn't he switch games after getting kicked by some korean recently?

That's true

I think Melee got cut because they didn't want to get slammed with unreasonably high registration numbers. Smash games in the past have had very divided player-bases (you still have plenty of people who exclusively play 64, Melee, and even PM) and minimal player crossover with the rest of FGC. With EVO having nine games on the main stage, they would have one hell of a time setting up a venue to accommodate 1000+ people who exclusively play one title. It a safe choice to cut Melee to avoid being overwhelmed based on predicted player turnouts, and it seems they knew what they were doing with DBFZ being moved to Saturday if the current registration numbers remain consistent with the rest of the EVO lineup.

T7 had a great top 8 last year, I'm guessing that has helped

It depends how well they can make a more neutral heavy game. It is very difficult to get right, and also hard to make interesting.
youtu.be/c7k-Lkegyc0?t=460

The only reason why people still play SFV despite everyone thinking and claiming that it's a piece of shit is because of the prize money. If what Harada said about "working on to increase the prize pool" on their TWT is true then, you might see Tekken grow bigger this 2019.

weebshit no one needs to know
got it

To be fair anime at EvoJapan did abysmal.

Attached: 1549832061932.jpg (499x783, 63K)

NO NO NO STOP PLAYING SMASH

Attached: 1432259490310.jpg (700x700, 68K)

To be fair, they usually do if you combine them.

I don't think it would change that much for top players. Anyone good knows it would take years to be at Knee's level. What it does is create a more positive vibe around the community which makes people want to get in. SFV's lacklustre S4 is likely to discourage people, they don't want a game with no future.

Tekken isn't hard because of the learning curve. The game is piss easy to understand. Easier than smash. The timing and reactions are the problem. You can look up any tech on youtube, there aren't any secrets

Attached: Gadget-goes-Hawaiian-gadget-hackwrench-29884813-720-540.png (720x540, 665K)

do you think they are capable of doing anything else but play melee?

Weebs dug their hole and I'm just watching everything burn because of it
Should've let the Smashers have their space, but they had to keep fueling the fire like a bunch of dumbfucks.

Was it the horrible balance patch that destroyed double supers and made guard cancel ridiculous that wrecked dbfz?

Yeah if you combine two games you are going to have a load of players. Can I combine Bamco games? What about all traditional 2D games, or just all fighters?

Nah

Melee sadly got a terminal cancer named Hungrybox.

Even as i think it,s 100% fair that he plays like he plays, and that he uses jiggs, fact is that it's extremely anti-fun. With Armada retired as the only one with consistent result vs Hungrybox the whole melee tourny would be a cavalcade of more interesting player falling one after another to hungrybox.

>paying for your internet twice
big yikes

play project m, slap city, or rivals of aether? yeah

They have managed to create a shitton of large tournaments that are exclusively made for Melee. Autism always finds a way, but let's hope it doesn't find its way into an EVO side-tournament. It would probably still end up with more players than some of the main stage games. Some of these older fighting games don't get more than maybe two or three decently sized tournaments yearly, and I don't want a community that has like 10+ national tournaments with 500+ entrants ruining it for them.

So will they reveal new Granblue Versus characters soon

Attached: 1538885369538.jpg (800x606, 51K)

Sonicfox’s existence doesn’t stop DBFZ from being a dogshit, baby fighter for people who don’t want to spend time learning video games and would rather mash buttons. This is what fighting games are going to become soon enough and it’ll only get worse.

If they're in the same series, yeah, that would be a logical comparison. The guy you quoted just said "smash", not a specific game.

melee players are even playing ultimate

>The only reason why people still play SFV despite everyone thinking and claiming that it's a piece of shit is because of the prize money. If what Harada said about "working on to increase the prize pool" on their TWT is true then, you might see Tekken grow bigger this 2019.

This is false. There was a time when ArcSys was throwing money at Blazblue, making it a larger pot than SFIV at Evo, and know one played it. SFV still has the SF community and that community is still one of the best in the scene to play with.
Yea Forums hating the game just makes the community better.

Said patch was actually quite positive, the only people who threw a fit were the vocal minority of Teen Gohan players who somehow still think the 5LL change was a nerf and tierfags mad that they can't get easy solo damage with double Level 1s.
Jiren and Videl were both well received, people have adapated well to the guard cancel change, there's actually a slight bit more variety as those handful who had the double level 1s aren't dominating anymore, and DBFZ's playercount on all platforms has gone up considerably over the past two months.

>in one of the bathrooms
nah man, last i heard they moved to the garbage bins outside, loads more space back there!

Now that the smeleefags are gone more people are actually willing to show up.

>Normals the slide the character across the ground to hit the opponent miles away.

They really need to fix this shit or it will die faster than BBTAG

MAIN STAGE FIST OF THE NORTH STAR WHEN
I'LL TAKE THE ROSTER GETTING INTO CROSS-TAG TOO PLEASE
I WANNA PLAY SHIN AGAIN HE'S COOL

Cry more
>Tekken isn't hard because of the learning curve
In what universe? Tekken has got to be one of the most unintuitive games to get good at simply because getting good at the game means getting familiar with shit tons of properties. Knowing what tracks, if it tracks left or right and movement being a skill in itself. Its easy to jump into but mid level is a nightmare to even plateau.
What really destroyed DBFZ is the the homogeneity of playstyles. The patch alao had a hand in that, but in general, when every character plays the same, especially in a tag fighter when the norm is to be able to play whatever playstyle and strategy you want, it becomes a problem for DBFZ. Literally every "playstyle" is rushdown>lockdown assist>mixup. Its boring as hell.

t. faggot that couldnt win a single tournament in said baby fighter

>If they're in the same series,
Which has little to no crossover. There isn't much reason to combine them, they are separate communities. If you can do that then why not include every SF side tournament as well, which will boost it a couple of hundred.

> The guy you quoted just said "smash"
Well if we can make up criteria I can say Bamco games. They now run EVO and the FGC. But this all seems kinda silly.

Attached: DjSSaotXgAAH-2E.jpg (1490x346, 128K)

I dunno, someone told me to start with Kazumi as a beginner but I have a harder time executing her juggles than doing Karin's frame-perfect tenko confirms in SFV. Maybe it's the timing as you said.

enjoy your dead community

even the nightly unist threads are ps4 people, pc players are the black sheep and get less games

EVO STINKY EDITION
YIKES

People never played MK for its competitive potential.

I thought dbz was one of the most popular ones? What happened

I don't care about fighting games and it's the only one I enjoyed watching

Should I watch SFV? I haven't really watched it yet because almost everyone said it sucked and I took their word for it. I really enjoyed watching SF4, more than any other FGC/esport game really.

except for the whole online clan wars during PS2 and the offline tournaments for arcade and modern MK

Watch for yourself and form your own opinion. I generally think its sort of boring, same with DBFZ.

Once you get big enough, all you do is please your ad overlord which means adapting american/puritan core values

Other than a couple of quirks such as shitty unrank matches, allowing custom characters through ranked and supers being needlessly long, it’s actually the best SC to date.

Honeymoon period is over. The novelty is long gone.

Why do people still play Tekken? The series hasn't been good since the PS1 days.

I still don't understand how something that from what I understand happened at a smash 4 tournament got stuck onto melee when it comes to this smell meme, or even more confusing how no one ever says anything about other tournaments and how they smell, it's a gathering of lots of dudes they all smell

t. been to multiple tourneys of both communities

Hot opinion
Watching lilmajin lay the smack-down is fantastic

I liked SF4 for the footsies and all the very different playstyles/characters and that it seems to allow for creativity. Not sure SFV has that.

people online wouldn't know because they don't really go to tournaments, what a shocker

because it's one of the few games that still kept true to it's PS1 (Tekken 3) roots
I would kill for SFV to play like SF2:HF or even Alpha 2 instead of a bastard child of GG/3S with a few of the worst Alpha designs like no close normals and alpha counters.

>I really enjoyed watching SF4, more than any other FGC/esport game really.
It is hard to say cause they are ultimately pretty different games. If you watch it from a very surface level perspective it is alright. You can get some enjoyment out of the chaos in matches, but it does get a bit old when every round has a comeback that doesn't really require anything special from the players. There are worse things you could watch, but I couldn't name any stand out matches

I really hope samurai shodown won't be garbage.

Wtf? Why are smashfags complaining when they still have their smash bros game up there.

Other than reversal edge being a shit gimmick you can avoid if you have a brain not much.

The Evo Jap finals were great. Go watch them to get an idea. Looking forward to seeing it again at Evo 19.

Attached: Screenshot_20190126-221101_YouTube.jpg (2220x1080, 961K)

If you force something hard enough it will eventually stick. It also doesn't help that a lot of top players look like they stink, and I do remember people mentioning that they had to remind Mew2King constantly to shower.

Those PS1 roots weren't even that good though. The series only blew up because VF wasn't on PS1 and instead was stuck on dead systems.

It only got big cause it was Dragon Ball. The actual game has massive issues in terms of character balancing and lack of defensive options.

it's mostly just shitposting really with one or two anecdotes to validate it

How many free shirts will they give away to try to salvage SFV's entry numbers this time?

Attached: 1533741716226.png (380x350, 295K)

SFV has moments of great footsies but it's not as common as SFIV. Creativity is not SFV's strongest point with a couple character exceptions (Ibuki, Urien, Kolin) and most players just stick to the bread & butter.

At this point I think most people watch SFV for the players themselves rather than for the game being played. No matter how generic the game is, watching Tokido yomi all over his opponent with sick confirms is always entertaining.

SFV footsies aren't SFIV and the playstyles are homogenized. Capcom hired a Guilty Gear player to director the combat in SFV and he has no idea on what he is doing. It's slowly being fixed, but his retarded design philosophies are still seeping through the core of the game.
clips.twitch.tv/OpenEasyLampNerfBlueBlaster

Main problems with SFV are:
Stubby normals which make YOLO specials way too strong and makes footsies visually a mess and boring
Slow walkspeeds especially walking back
Low pushback which results in very long yet linear blockstrings like anime
A bunch of very safe framedata which forces a style of taking turns
Reversals are pure ass and an SRK can get stuffed by a jab
AAs are ass which made the best AAs a jab for a few years
Jump ins are really good for no reason to the point they beat AAs,but are slowly getting nerfed

I wonder if they will do it twice. Does come off as a bit desperate, especially as last year they didn't do it till the game was losing.

Attached: tshirt.png (628x624, 50K)

>Those PS1 roots weren't even that good though. The series only blew up because VF wasn't on PS1 and instead was stuck on dead systems.

Casuals didn't know what VF was and hardcore players were still in arcades. Tekken blew up on it's own.

>Samurai Showdown beating Dragon Ball
And you fuckers told me no one cared about Samurai kino.
Get ready for the MEGASHOCK

Best fighting game at #1 as usual I see.

I really wanna see Daigo or any SF player really using one of those fightsitck controllers for smash and use Ryu/Ken in Ultimate, play stamina even

literally everyone with a brain could tell you it was kusoj within the first month

Have they even announced anything since Kage?

Yeah Urien is amazing in SFV
I would argue this is his best incarnation

Like if you want to try to like SFV, just watch Nemo Urien and call it a day. Most of the cast can be pretty whack.
gfycat
.com/nearbackkiskadee

I also like nu-Sakura. She can actually play footsies, but her mixups in the corner can be really crazy too.

Ryu/Ken in Ultimate are considered ass tier. Why even force Daigo to suffer?

>you've lived to see tekken be more popular than street fighter
With how good capcom is being lately do you think they'll make SF6 actually fun?

Attached: 1546446949860.jpg (575x563, 31K)

It's because it's still so much fun to play at every level

>A bunch of very safe framedata which forces a style of taking turns
I think the issue is more that your options feel very canned. Everyone has their blockstrings, you just gotta learn them and there isn't much left for player freedom. Maybe that could work if you had a lot of canned options

I mean, just for fun, jeez

>you've lived to see tekken be more popular than street fighter

Did you miss the whole SFIII fiasco? SFV is just 3 all over again

More Urien shit
twitter.com/tekkenchanel/status/1095182434205720576

But they fixed 3 after two years and two tries. SF5 is 3 years old now and still bad

>/nearbackkiskadee
I dunno, this also feels like it sums up why I hate SFV. You go ham, pop vtrigger and enter mix up city to pull the entire match back. Urien has a little more going on than the rest of the cast, like the little walk back to make the combo land. But the risk/reward in this game is fucked, the players much have nightmares about guessing throws.

3S was hated until Tokido showed how cheap it could be and brought in a new wave of combo autists. Most of the core SF fanbase still avoided it.
SFV never brought in enough new people.

It's not 2001 anymore, grandpa

you're right

>If you can do that then why not include every SF side tournament as well, which will boost it a couple of hundred.
I mean you can if you want, they're the same series.
>Well if we can make up criteria I can say Bamco games.
If they're in the same series that would make sense.

It means that fighting games are better with a 40 year rabid undivided fanbase behind them.

Good

You seem to be seething.

>SFV never brought in enough new people.
A new one wasn't needed, it just needed to find a niche outside of being SF. I think it could have done that at one stage, but many updates have been weird attempts to make it a """""""REAL STREET FIGHTER""""""" instead of working with the more rush down nature to form something interesting.

S1 was pretty flawed, but aside from 8 frames I think it was the most interesting time for the game. Characters had weird shit, remember Mika's wall? Any tech, weirdness and sometimes unique character traits were smothered. It has made a balance game, don't think I could argue S1 is a better get but I don't think it has become more exciting. When S2 killed a lot of normals and weird tech I started to fall away from the game. And now I miss having a SF to play regularly

i would not want to play the game of gay nigger furry. thats comprehensible.

Because fighting games cannot compete with Mario Kart, Smash, Super Mario etc. Nintendo party games.

>MK11 and SoCal6 that high
>Samurai Shodown above Fighter Z
Good for them

>logistical nightmare
stop this meme. the melee community did most of the work

>all of those lows in 17/18
What happened? Is EVO dying?

all your admitting is people HAVE to use ps4 cause:
1. PEER PRESSURE
2. Justified reasoning for paying for psn plus.

It ran the like shit user, Melee goes overtime too much.

FULL SPEED AHEAD
MOST ENTRANTS NEXT YEAR

Attached: 8232345623.jpg (1200x675, 110K)

Those games are all completely different genres, and the only nintendo game in the "party" genre is Mario party.

meh its a shit game but at least still not as low as melee lol

Attached: 1551232476380.png (327x364, 78K)

They all are in the party genre. The kind of games you literally play at parties. I have played all those games at parties when I was younger.

SFV was a massive disappointment that had to give away tshirts in 2018. BB, Melee, Smash 4 and GG were old. Tekken was riding high.

t. Tekken player

I hope you realize SF broke the Evo entrance record its first year without any shirts so that is simply retarded.

The smell meme predates 4. They’ve been poopsocking it up since before brawl., and have made no effort to combat the rep.

>instead of working with the more rush down nature to form something interesting

S2 was rushdown and it was garbage. There are hundreds of rushdown games, people want SF which is neutral heavy that teeters in zoning to rushdown. Why not play DBFZ if you want rushdown?

>I hope you realize SF broke the Evo entrance record
It also broke the record for the largest drop in players. Which is one I don't think other games could match

Hi /fgg/

>t. Tekken player
You can't tell that it's an anime player hiding behind another game again?

That was before anyone knew SFV was shit.
It would break all records again if SFVI was released next EVO, no matter how shit it is, because Street Fighter is such a classic franchise that wasnt shit before SFV.
Despite people shitting on SFV right now, most of them WANT Street Fighter to be fun again.

Rent free

Percentage wise Kof and Injustice dropped harder

>S2 was rushdown and it was garbage
What I mean is, they didn't do anything to enhance the rushdown. They didn't make it more interesting and varied, just nerfed a bunch of shit while making a handful of tools way too good.

> people want SF which is neutral heavy that teeters in zoning to rushdown.
SF has been lots of things, which is why you don't see the community go back to one game. The most dominant old ones are ST and 3S which are opposite ends of the spectrum

MKX was worse than MK9 though. Much worse.

Was it the horrible balance patch that destroyed double supers and made guard cancel ridiculous that wrecked dbfz?

>watch anime fighter
>person hits the other
>30+ seconds of low-damage comboing
>other person finally hits back and proceeds to do the same thing for even longer
Do you fags actually enjoy watching this?

Good, maybe this will lead to tournaments banning gay nigger furries.

>garbage bins
come on, that's obviously too high class for them.
They're actually using a styrofoam makeshift shed, and the TV and console are powered by a handheld crank generator.

I remember that event, they started Meele after quarter finals

that is some cope

It's not 2010 anymore, Jessie.

>shafted despite being goat streams/views/entrants

can't blame them

3S is completely dead in the west. ST is king and even SFIV gets more than 3S despite USFIV being ruined thanks to red focus+Yun. USFIV had Woshige input btw.
So did early SFxT, RE 6, and LP3.

Sonicfox only plays kusoge anime fighters though because how would he be a champion if he's not just clearing a room of secondary goku fanboys with a flowchart combo. Notice how he refuses to touch any fighting game with an active player base and when he does he gets fucking rapesd. He's not even the best Dragonball fighterz player. He is a furry hack who has an endless army of dickriders because he games in an ass smelling fursuit. Get off this retards chode.

it's like day 3 of registrations you retards, it's gonna be top 4.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 126K)

Agreeing with the first part at least..

UNIEL and UNIST confirmed kusoge

And it always looks so fucking arbitrary.

Oh yeah another OTG, sure there's another wallbounce, sure that can be romancanceled into the almighty start-the-entire-thing-over-launcher, boy oh boy that jab you mashed out on wakeup really paid off huh. Like with the 3d shit I can roughly tell, if they are getting juggled they are getting juggled, and then they fall to the ground and the combo is over. With anime it's like OH YOU THINK IT'S OVER NOPE DHC XX THE SHOW MUST GO ON HOPE YOU BROUGHT SOMETHING TO READ

He played UNIEL only and he sniped the wins from an extremely underdeveloped community back 2015. He never came back because of some death threats, not sure.

BBTAG still has more entrants than GG. Oh wait, that stale ass game isn't even in.

Play Tekken

The things you listed would make sense if you actually knew about attack properties. That's literally every single fighting game. If you don't know the properties and what makes them good, then it shouldn't be surprised if you're eating whatever punish you get

I miss UMVC3, even high HP characters like Thor and Hulk died fast

There was a full PC lobby last night, fag.

He means Evo, retard.

>Ryu/Ken in Ultimate are considered ass tier.
They're not ass, it's just that Ryu in Sm4sh took by far the most amount of effort to put in, and now in Ultimate the Shotos take even more effort, and why do that when you can just pick Lucina instead and unga bunga your way to a pot prize? No one (sensible) wants to break their fingers playing a kids game anymore.

Oh I'm sure if I had the tenacity to read up on how that shit worked it would make sense, the point is with normal games way a combo is set up is intuitive. Or, pressure, or zoning, or anything for that matter

Wrong. Memorizing matchups in Tekken is about memorizing when it's safe to press a button and when it's not. You basically memorize spreadsheets to get good.

Why the fuck wouldn't you stick to the optimal combo in literally any fighting game? Why get "creative" instead of "optimal"?

because fun

Attached: 9e8cbd532264528afca15d6f82009d54.jpg (500x327, 19K)

I mean its pretty much the same. For tag fighters like Marvel, it would make sense due to the nature of the combo system of having 1 groundbounce/1 wall bounce unless you're exploiting an glitch like some teams have. For games like Guilty Gear, combos tend to be 10-15 hits and that's off a counterhit. Point is, the combos definitely are arbitrary.

SF has branching options and is more about flow and disrupting the oppents flow. The basic branching of damage vs corner carry exist, but also spacing is a huge thing. Ending is a light tatsu vs medium sacrifices corner carry and damage so you have space to chuck fireballs and harrass forcing an impatient player to combo to you

because theyre bad and are probably just mashing their "combo"

>Sonicfox STILL triggering /pol/ on a daily basis.
He's going to dominate Mortal Kombat when it releases the way he's dominated every NRS game for years. Can't wait to see the butthurt from idiots like you.

>Why the fuck wouldn't you stick to the optimal combo in literally any fighting game?
Execution requirements, swapping out damage for a set up or because the game has a weird system like combo breakers

>2019
>still no new Darkstalkers

Attached: 1546567755080.jpg (859x1024, 141K)

>Notice how he refuses to touch any fighting game with an active player base
uh what? FighterZ is on par with SFV.

Attached: 1507850740117.gif (600x450, 1.5M)

I love the game but I can understand why it has so few entries, the game is not as entertaining as people make it sound.

>Other than reversal edge being a shit gimmick you can avoid if you have a brain not much.
Its a good anti-spam mechanic, it just starts feeling useless when matches become less about spamming so you don't need the mechanic itself anymore.

That whole debacle was blown out of proportion because two tournies wanted to run the game without getting permission since they also had money on the line.

It's mostly the otg stuff that often times makes me go "huh, I guess". Like with underblazeunielstex or whatever, it's always like oh this thing makes you fly across the screen, and then I dash up and do my thing which I charge for like two seconds and that still picks you off the ground when in any sensible game that should have been the end of your combo. Like it's indistinguishiable where you do a long winded move to pick up the guy and it's a combo, or whether it's your demon monster assist special you charge up for optimal oki, it just looks a stretch above normal arbitraryness, it's advanced arbitrary. The blazblues, blazblue tag, and under night whatever it is now, I just don't understand fucking anything. And I mean I even played the first blazblue game, I still don't fucking understand *anything* watching the new ones because they just change the way it all works up so hard with each iteration

>swapping out damage for a set up
usually this is the reason
that or something insane like it even puts you at a disadvantage or just outright makes you punishable for doing it which is retarded but it exists

>Notice how he refuses to touch any fighting game with an active player base and when he does he gets fucking rapesd
DBFZ 2500+ Evo numbers confirmed hoax by user

Eh, mildly. That fact of the matter is, Smash fans are Nintendo fans first and foremost. Therefore, they will always outnumber the fans of Capcom, Namco etc that happen to have fighting game divisions. Therefore, there will always be a larger pool of potential players, keeping the games alive longer.

>literally "SFV is good because Yea Forums dislikes it"

At this point I'm ready to ordain Smash Ultimate a better fighting game

Attached: 1546834459553.png (500x500, 430K)

it's time in the spotlight has passed

the meta has grown bullshit-y, people are starting to figure out that it's not actually something that could replace sfv and will soon either go back, or latch onto samsho or something in an attempt to pretend they can escape capcom's clutch

Basically everything GG that is not sf or tekken die after 2 months. It doesn't mean they don't sell.

learn reading comprehension
it's "literally the SFV community is a good community because Yea Forums dislikes it"

No, the game gets traction because Nintendo license. If its some new IP "Party Arena Fighter 4, The Return of Cute Furry Creatures", nobody would give a shit about it. People don't play Smash games because "muh good mechanics", they play them because you can jam Captain Falcon's fist inside Peach's ass.

They have a new characters balancing patch ready but they won't give it to us.

>tfw i kept saying dbfz is shallow trash that will die in 2 years after people realize it has no depth and nobody believed me

next time listen to people smarter than you :^)

MKX problem was mostly performance based, especially the PC version which was a buggy mess. But they realized with the success of MK9 that if you add enough single-player content, people will buy and play your game regardless the state of its online component. Casuals generally don't give a shit about online after few times of getting their asses handed, they care about the roster size and the singleplayer/local game modes.

>this shit taste
Yikes!

Attached: shrek productions.jpg (480x360, 13K)

>sfv and will soon either go back, or latch onto samsho or something in an attempt to pretend they can escape capcom's clutch
Judging by SFV's playerbase I don't see that happening. There really isn't much point in going back to a game that seems to be on the way out. Game isn't even getting a real season of content

Basically you can always argue about which is the "truly" optimal combo in any given situation, you can optimize for damage, for meter build (or chose whether or not to spend meter, and how much of it), for corner carry, get a side switch in there, do the thing that grants you the most advantage in the wakeup situation, get a reset in there, what have you. Creative and optimal aren't really opposites, players always have their "style" without intentionally playing unoptimal

I said that

everyone said that

I'm playing it right now. Not sure why Tekken is more popular when this feels so much more smooth to play.

Attached: 1551061258493.png (636x900, 543K)

wizard lost so many registrants dropping melee, it'd easily beat out everyone below mk11
how the fuck does he even stay in business. evo japan has felt like disasters both years

>the SFV community is a good community
This is a retarded statement. Street Fighter has been plagued with both figurative and literal niggers since at least Ultra, all desperate to "make it" in whatever scene is most populated. This hasn't changed with the release of SFV, where the extremely dumbed-down gameplay is chasing away the dedicated but amiable autists while all the Lowtiergod-like retards continue to play, not out of love for the game but because they want to be the niggest of all.
>a community is good if Yea Forums divorces itself from it
This is an even more retarded statement. Groups, sites and social circles that hard-lock themselves from the sort of people you'd find on Yea Forums are terrible. They are almost always massive cowards.

Attached: 1550012535239.png (784x675, 432K)

Try to watch Hokuto No Ken someday. Like today for example.
youtube.com/watch?v=6mgWsAf8FCg

You are a retard. Genres are groupings of games based on their mechanical similarities. Mario kart, smash bros, and "Super Mario" have no mechanical similarities whatsoever.

You can play and have fun with any multiplayer game at a party; that doesn't make it a "party game".

The graveyard?

>This is a retarded statement. Street Fighter has been plagued with both figurative and literal niggers since at least Ultra, all desperate to "make it" in whatever scene is most populated.

What is kusoge? Plz help I have the dumb

Your opinion is badong.

I'm happy the patches kicked in early enough so that SC6 at Evo won't be a cancerous IvyFest with Siegmare Ungabunga

More like toei and possibly the new patch
Would've died by this year anyway since it's mostly the DB franchise and lack of tagshit holding it there. I still like the game even if it's Kuso
UNIST and Samurai Showdown's placement is pretty nice, even if I never played those games

nothing, just a continuation of capkek FUD in an attempt to alleviate the ass rape namco's been giving capcom in the fighting game environment, SCVI is great

Its been less than a week

tekken is more popular because it didn't have a massive gap of shit between 2002 and now. 6 is the first SC game I consider straight up good since 2

But he's playing SC and maybe UNIST

Registration always ramps up towards the end
The beginning of registration doesn’t matter at all

But the character variety is unimpressive, the juggles are too long, and the animations look a little janky.

It does give us a hint where each communities head is at, how confident they are about each game to jump in. It will look pretty different in the end though

>but no character is really "bad'

Attached: 50 - RS4fmFO.png (1400x1779, 1.71M)

Have you seen the Yea Forums community? They are too stupid to cooperate on anything besides tearing shit down. You can't have a functional community like that, except for terrorism and slandering.

Shitty game

>But the character variety is unimpressive
You gonna spend another thread embarrassing yourself?

Attached: 1543783378238.jpg (1010x1200, 154K)

And yet you still hold tournaments that are made by the SF community in the highest regard

NightCHADmare time

>They are too stupid to cooperate on anything besides tearing shit down.
We have near nightly UNIst lobbies. I'd take that over Punk, Marn and JWong

>but no character is really "bad'
there are a few, little mac and bowser jr are example

>and no character is absolutely auto-win.
no auto win, but Marth, his clones, and Ike are braindead easy mode compared to other top/high tiers

that said ultimate is really balanced, but so was 4 before bayonetta and cloud existed

I really fucking hate siegfried, he's nightmare without any of the blatant weakenesses

nightmare got nerfed and won evo japan anyway

You could've said Sm4sh 3ds, Sm4sh, Brawl, (64 is debatable).
>No tech to learn, all you have to do is play a lot.
Literally type "insert character here" tech and you'll find results.

what is optimal?
most dmg?
most meter?
most stun?
most push towards corner?
reset?

like every SC game nobody cares after 6months

>We have near nightly UNIst lobbies
You don't. You have them maybe once a week and most are just waifuautism with no one actually playing. You guys also took SonicFox winning a UNI tournament like the biggest babies in the world. Holy fuck you guys are the kings of cancer. I'll take JWong, but you can keep Punk since he is playing UNIST now.
Marn started playing Guilty Gear which is why it took him so long to grow the fuck up.

>fighting game tournament
>highest registration numbers are for a party game

I like Smash but it's fucking boring to watch. At least it's not Melee I guess

Yeah but that Nightmare was cool and we got to see a sick Cervantes

Fuck Siegfried though

>maybe once a week and most are just waifuautism with no one actually playing.
Confirmed for never going in them. Not surprising from a /fgg/ot, go pretend to play SFV while you post kolin pictures.

Go make more death threats. Those threads are utterly silent when people ask for games

>Ultimate on top
As expected. I better see 3 Richter(s) in GF minimum.

Attached: castlevania_richter_belmont__kunio__sprite_by_rockfin-d54gh32.png (173x305, 4K)

He is talking from the spectator's point of view, not from the competitive player

belmonts are shit and can only do well against shitters online with shitty nintendo lag

short combos that set up oki/resets >>>>>>>> long combo unga, this is why guilty gear is far better than the shitstain marvel 3

Where is the UNIST thread? It's night and there isn't a thread.

You can do the same thing in Mario party but that doesn't have a massive tournament scene.

The truth is, both factors are important. Melee wouldn't have gotten that huge if the mechanics hadn't been as good as they were.

It's getting bigger because it's a great game that deserves it. Every top 8 is great and they've been doing good with the DLC characters and balance changes, what's not to like?

you're just mad because you keep tilting and running into axes like the shitter you are.

Attached: 1524718364885.gif (200x147, 1.14M)

Eh, scv had good core gameplay. But its other issues were... significant.

>Registration was opened on Tuesday 11:30 PM EST time
>It's not even Friday 11:30
>People are already chimping out over rankings (not even actual numbers, just vague rankings)

You people literally go out of your way to find fake hype and outrage, don't you

Attached: 1484017454674.jpg (1080x1080, 131K)

but UMVC3 had plenty of janky setups, resets and incoming/snapback oki
if you're going for long combos while the opponent has an anchor Vergil, Strider or Phoenix, you're playing wrong

Jade is a cute! Also she's much darker then I remember and I'm into it, anything to make her stand apart from katana

How dare you. I am absolutely furious about this minor news.

He won agaisnt no japanese players, AKA, the ones who matter. When uniel came out japanese players were ahead for like almost 4 years.

I've never lost to a belmont and I play ridley, they're bad characters

>meter to GI

They are fun characters, and everything about their kit is satisfying.

that may be right, but they still suck. They're defensive options are essentially non-existent and they're some of the easiest characters to edge guard, not good in a game like this.

Actually, isn't there air blocking? You can be punished for jumping in though but I think if you're neutral and hold back you can block from the air.

youtube.com/watch?v=eQz4jVHvdpE
here's a pretty good match with Richter
also
>that dair on the Pikmin to recover at 15:27

>implying the Western community isn't the reason UNIST is relevant enough to get into EVO int the first place

Sure there are probably god tier players in Japan but there are also alot of great players in the West too.

Also wasn't he (Sonic Fox) playing regular UNIEL and not UNIST? Curious to see how he'd adapt to the new characters and balance.

Yeah, I initially thought they were patching the game too soon, but in hindsight they did the right thing. Not sure if they nerfed raph a bit too hard though.

He means night in the PST/EST. Usually they start around 9:30PM/12:30AM.

Japanese UNI players never show up western tournaments. You only get one or two Japs that came for other games don't really play. Western UNIST is pretty shit though.

I actually liked the Tag mechanics

Other than Gordeau being too busted as a partner, I’m surprised on how unique the metagame is, even if it’s a battle of what broken tech one will use

Attached: 64D6EE82-CB82-4C6C-B6AB-9139CFDA960F.jpg (1024x576, 91K)

In UNI? There's air blocking in general, it's just that a bunch of moves are air unblockable even if you use Shield and most characters can only jump once, then they have to rely on Assault (or some other gimmicks) for any other air movement.

I disagree, within the systems of the game, Jiren and Videl actually feel pretty unique especially if you really dig into them.

But of course people do autocombos and see roughly the same thing happening and think they play the same as the rest of the case.

As an aside, I'm glad DBFZ is back. It's in a bit of a rough spot right now and plus SamSho is very new and has a lot of cross entrants trying to cash in on an easy win, so it's natural its doing better.

All I care is that the censoring bs is gone and the game can move forward. It still has a way to go, but it's really promising so far.

Not that guy but Nightly Unist threads usually last for about 3-4 hours Sunday through Thursday.

Start time is Though I attempted to start earlier yesterday nobody showed up except the people I usually play against and 1 pro player who invited me to do a few sets with him.

People complain about there not being any lobbies in the day but the average Yea Forums poster seems too afraid of getting bodied to show up to the lobbies.

We all have to start somewhere in order to improve.

Attached: 1549612008147.png (1032x1457, 591K)

The massive nerfs for Gordeau and the massive buffs for Nine, Jubei, Makoto, Chie, Yukiko, and Akihiko will make things fun.

Its during midnight, just like the in-game lore.

There are good players in the west, but compared to japanese players they are pretty much free. Every tournament an arcade killer like clearlamp enters in the US is a tournament that he wins for free against the best players the west has to offer.

Even if sonic fox starts playing now, i doubt he would go beyond top 16. A lot of the people playing now have been playing for a year or more. Japanese players will take it free regardless.

>tfw Redblade was present yesterday while I was out phoneposting
I just wanna try his Wagner out, damn.

To be fair, as soon as I was going to show up, the lobby was closed yesterday. It is what it is, though.

Attached: DxITdMYUcAAXsSL.jpg (999x1098, 135K)

Also forgot to note that the threads are usually focused on what's going on in the lobbies already, which is why they move slowly. Maybe you should join the lobbies around that time. If we filled up, we could also make a second lobby.

Image posting is frowned upon because it takes away from the game discussion though sometimes sadly. Doesn't stop me from posting images here and there though.

A lot of the usual nip arcade warriors are showing a lot of interest in attending EVO now that UNIST in a mainstage game so I wouldn't be surprised if top 8 is full of the usual arcade gods cause our western scene pales in comparison.

Fair enough, maybe we can get something going today/tonight since surely a few more people will be available on a Friday night, right?

>Want to play UNIST, GG, BB, and Persona
>no idea where to start with fighting games

Everything just looks so intimidating

Attached: download.gif (500x283, 1.66M)

Because UNIfags think weekly lobbies equal nightly lobbies

Chie’s simple problem is that she has no easy approaching tools and dragon kick is inconsistent

One of the key reasons Ruby and Mai were in the finals as they both have side switch moves, on top of the lockdown (Ruby) and fake-outs(Mai) that could be abused with Gordeau’s assist

I'm pretty sure the normal group doesn't make lobbies on Fridays. If you want to play I can play, I'm over here trying to do Linne's 4-3 challenge so I can be done with all of them forever, but it's not like I have anything better to do.

No, I understand, I get you. Its the same feel I have with Tekken, but maybe because I havent graduated mid level in that game yet. For Under Night, you should definitely try the game out more. Its a lot more intuitive than say Blazblue and the pace is a lot clearer to fully get a sense of what's happening. If there's any link between grounded based games like SF to fast games like anime, its Under Night.

Pick one and roll with it for a week or two to get your barrings.

The safest character pick is almost universally going to be the main character too for people to start with.

I'm really damn glad. Fuck DBFZ, shitty ass kusoge.

Give me a few minutes to take care of an errand and I'll throw up a lobby.

Hopefully I can convince others browsing this thread to join, lest we make a new thread specifically for UNIST since this is techincally a general fighting games thread.

Attached: 1549612865143.png (840x990, 363K)

Just pick one and start playing. GG and UNIST both have great tutorials, so they're fine places to start. And don't be afraid to go online and play against others, a lot of people feel like they're wasting other's time by going up against someone who has hundreds of hours when they're just beginning, but nobody really minds.

Come join us on Sunday through Thursday then and see whether or not it's weekly or nightly.

I don't mean the variety of characters that appear in tournaments, I just call that "balance". In that regard T7 is quite good. I mean how unique the characters play from each other.

But I want to play Baiken, Bullet, Gordeau, and Kanji in their respective games.

Attached: 69a1d9f44e33b81a7d0176ce95cea3dc.jpg (835x1180, 177K)

It's been getting pretty good entry numbers though.

You should play whoever it is that you want to play, not whoever's advised for beginners. There's nothing wrong with playing a simple character, but if you don't play the character you want to play you're not going to enjoy the game as much and you're probably not going to stick with it. You will be made fun of for playing Baiken though.

Not in terms of competitive merit/gameplay

>muh spectatorsports/hype!

This is the cancer killing the FGC, it causes games with actually good gameplay that have an emphasis on neutral to get dropped while jank shit and unga bunga offensive games to get tons of attention. See: FighterZ

I mean play what you want of course. I can tell you right now Bullet is excruciating to play midscreen because of her lack of decent options to end combos there, and if you mean Ultimax and not Cross Tag, Kanji can feel just as bad.

>You will be made fun of for playing Baiken though

Why? She's cool

Because every new player wants to play Baiken and they usually quickly drop the game afterwards. If you go on /ggg/ or any place where people talk about Guilty Gear and say you're new and want to play Baiken they'll make fun of you because almost every single new player opens with saying they want to play Baiken. Not that that should discourage you from playing her, it's just something you see constantly so it's naturally become a joke.

Baiken has become the postergirl for secondary waifufags who claimed they were going to pick up the game when they add her in. See: Maximillian. Good Baikens are very few and are respected.

Well that just makes me more determined. I was going to start with BB but maybe I'll go with GG first.

Is it finally safe to say DBZF was extremely disappointing in every area except the visuals

I don't think this is the entire reason: Pokken, in theory, should have almost as much appeal as Smash, but it doesn't.

Pokken, contrary to how it's marketed, isn't casual arenashit but is actually a fairly traditional fighting game (a damn well desigtned one, too: extremely well balanced, has systems to encourage adaption and discourage flowcharting/just playing to the MU, nearly anime fighter levels of playstyle varience, etc), and doesn't have much single player content,. so it's not appealing normies and casuals despite being one of the most approachable ones. SMash, meanwhile, not only has the huge casual appeal from the roster, but it's gameplay is accessable to even braindead retards and has loads of shit to do other then just the core game itself.

smash is easy to get into but hard to master

I didn't think metered GI was inherently objectionable, though I understand if you personally didn't like it.

You are fucking clueless.

Is this what it means when someone says a game has a low skill floor but high ceiling?

And I'm back. Lobby is set up! Anyone else interested in playing UNIST PS4 is welcome to join too. Pass/kw is vee, see ya there!

I'll see about starting a new thread too as well as getting other people to possibly show up.

Holy shit sonicfox is so good that he literally scared off everyone from the most popular fighting game

That sounds fun. I hope to one day join you guys. Is UNIST the one played the most on Yea Forums? If so I may pick it up first over the two I mentioned here

Sonicfox would scare me off too but it would have nothing to do with fighting games

UNIST is the only on of those that gets Yea Forums lobbies. GG used to but it was banished to /vg/ and Blazblue fans just ERP.

Aaand thread has been made.

I got the game today, and I'm pretty bad. Maybe after I get some practice. Even the AI can beat me at this point.

You shouldn't worry so much. I'm really rusty.

i used to play SFIV at my parties retard

how does your mental gymnastics work for unist and mk

It's not fucking fair bros

In all seriousness I have to wonder how SNK got Samurai Shodown in the main lineup. The game is said to release early June, I assume they probably payed top dollar for the sponsorship but seeing as how they've been on the edge of bankruptcy for years who knows. Hopefully Samurai Shodown 7 lives up to the older games at least.

BAIKEN "players" are legit degenerates

Same, let's get bodied together m8.

Funny story about UNIST and GG. They used to have frequent lobbies on Yea Forums that started in 2017. UNIST always do it during midnight and was lowkey about it. GG made threads every 3 hours where they got banished to /vg/. There's a reason why the UNIST threads only occur the most during midnight

Yes

SoulCalibur 5th. Nice. Wish more people played.

Me and a coworker were going to go but when they cancelled melee he said he's not going.its a shame I really want to go

Did I miss something or do we really still have no news from Samurai Shodown since the reveal?

i imagine what couldve happened is it was originally doa but was pulled after the "core values" thing because wizard didnt want to be mocked anymore
so they wouldve got the slot for a premium because he was shopping for a last minute replacement

alternatively, the chinese

There was a trailer at the EVO lineup announcement.

Smash Con is the week after EVO

>March edition
>it's literally became March today

I know but I'm not that into melee
