So you never played a game in the 90's other than Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid? Sure, MGS sounds nowhere near as bad as RE1, but it still sounds like cheesy anime dub. There were plenty of games that came out before MGS1 that had vastly superior voice acting, like Blood Omen or Grim Fandango. Heck, even within the same subgenre, MGS was vastly outclassed by other stealth games such as Thief when it came to the audio department.
