I just completed pic related. It isn't terrible, but still a bit underwhelming. The characters are kinda bland and the mysteries weren't that interesting. I must admit admit I had high expectations going into this, because this was directed by Shu Takumi, who amazed me both with the original Ace Attorney trilogy and ghost trick.

Anyone else played this? Also, is the second game better? I wonder if I should still give it a shot.

It was litteraly only made so takumi could complete the original idea he had of ace attorney.
A rookie detective correcting the other detective’s faulty reasoning

I’d say the second game is about the same.
But the problem with daigyaku is that you need to play 2.
Unlike the original ace attorney trilogy, the daigyaku duology can’t exist without the other.
You can jump into ace attorney 1,2 or 3 without any real hindrance.
But for daigyaku, mostly everything revolves around the plot. So it isn’t self sustained as the others. Japan didn’t like it for this reason apparently.
I thought it was pretty good.
I loved the ice coin puzzle in the second game

Yeah, I thought as much. There were many mysteries that they never resolved through the game. I figured that they will get back to them in the second game.

I will never not be mad the way they killed the mentor right off the bat again.

It’s like poetry.

I love the style of this game and the cases aren't bad either. It's much better than Apollo justice at least.

I really want to play this one, but the hoops I'd be needing to jump through seem like a major pain in the balls. Almost seems like it would be easier to just learn japanese. Fuck you, Shoe Takumi for not wanting to pay the Holmes people, you are fucking your fans in the ass, you ratfaced little cunt.

How complex is the Japanese?

Mid tier.
It’s easy enough to understand if you have a couple of years under your belt.
There isn’t any archaic japanese.

Do they make Holmes speak a specific Western dialect?

No.
Everyone talks normal.
Except for your run of the mill cookey character which will show up in most ace attorneys.
The only one who will give you troue is soseki

Trouble how

The second game is amazing, it's a direct sequel that directly address all the foreshadowing introduced in the first game and then some

You shouldn't see them as separate game, just the first half and second half, literally all the cases of the first game are shown in a new light in the second game, even the lady stabbed in the back case

Fuck Capcom

Fuck the Holmes estate.

Why is Ryu so cute

Except they didn't and he's an important villain in the second one.

You spoiling fuck

He isn’t totally corect. So leave now

Except they did because the second game is a flashback

No it isn't lmao, Kazuma has memory loss after the first game, he serves as the final prosecutor in fucking Britain, no flashbacks there :^)

>Still no AA7 news

You're confusing Kazuma with Takahashi. Did you forget the final episode partly takes place in Prussia?

fuck you for making me look up if the patch was finally finished yet.

You don't seriously think it's his decision, do you?

Is this part 2? If so, I haven't really played it myself, as the patch isn't out yet, but I watched some subbed gameplay and I agree.
Especially the ending is really underwhelming and immersion breaking. Like, c'mon, holographs, really? I feel like the game would've been 100x better without the little girl and sherlock holmes

oh it's part 1. Yeah, part 1 is really bad, don't read my spoiler as it's for part 2
