nope, at least in dawn of war 2 was a good squad based rts with god tier voice acting. It might not have been a true successor to dawn of war 1 but it was still an enjoyable game nonetheless. DoW 3 on the other hand focuses all around the three heros and the doctrines (things that power up your army) you select pregame. Most hero units just completely obliterate armies with relative ease and the only real way to deal with them is with another hero unit. As well, its basically a tremendous copy of starcraft as you have SM, Orks and Eldar basically being the terrans, zerg and protoss. Relic tried to make this game esport viable but failed miserably and they completely gave up hope of it after a couple months of updates.

Obviously 40k did it first but I am just talking about dawn of war 3. It just seemed way too similar. Dawn of war 1 & 2 came out with 4 distinctively unique races while 3 just had the stereotypical starcraft races
