My internet is shit, so I let my shit download overnight.

Once my PC fried because of eletric energy discharge from a raybolt. It went from the receptor and came right trought the RJ45 cable to the ethernet entry, frying the mobo.

After that I stopped letting it sleep on the cable, just on wifi.

Based and redpilled. The only thing I turn off is the monitor. I just turn it off when I'm travelling or sleeping away.

wasted electricity aside, i dont think living your entire waking existence in front of a screen is healthy, mentally emotionally or physically

pi's are very very very cheap and run off a mobile phone charger. the electricity cost saving alone, ocmpared to using a power-thirsty big boy computer to download things, means it will pay for itself.

I'm 42, user. I have a stable job and a roof and that's all I'll ever get. I should be thankful for that, I know. There's way more unfortunate people alive struggling to see the next day, but the loneliness and silence there is in my house constantly is crippling me. At least the computer helps break that silence.

Damn, I kind of do the same thing but I use my phone for it. I keep my phone on at a lowish volume playing a couple videos, usually internet historian videos because his voice is nice, for the white noise to help me sleep
