It's often brought games to my attention, and if I see a bunch of people praising a game on Yea Forums I usually give it a closer look.

I remember it was Yea Forums that convinced me to buy Undertale just after it came out, after seeing people talking about how good it was.

Every now and then you will have a genuinely good discussion on a niche game series, or there's some funny meme that keeps you coming back.
It could also be that even at its worst Yea Forums still is the best place to discuss vidya.

Yea Forums used to influence my opinion of BoTW but then I played it and while a lot of the shit is said for the sake of starting fights, it really does have problems but overall it's a great game
