Because even at $30 the quality in present station and the game catalog isn't worth it

Can this be hacked yet? Mite be cool to put some shoot em ups like Einhander, R-type Delta and the like on it.

Because it's a shit-tier machine that barely runs the games it was ment to?

We aren't talking about the snes classic

Yea it can be hacked but with the lack of analog on the base controllers and the low amount of storage you need to start building a Frankenstein. People are even swapping out emulators.

So overall it can’t be done but it’s not like the Nintendo ones where it was just put every game on the unit and enjoy.

That's why I thought shoot em ups would be good because they mostly just use the digital pad.

just get a pi if you want a small box for emulation, they run ps1 games better than these things and you can have kodi on it for streaming shit too.

the ps classic actually runs ps1 games worse than the snes mini.
>youtu.be/ol12g5GxI7Y

Just cut the middle man and download the emulator on your computer.

I'm gonna wait until it hits $30 bucks and build a Bishi Bashi rig.

is it easily hackable?

>playing video games on a work machine

Snoyboi on suicide watch. The snes mini runs ps1 games better than the ps1 classic you fuck. Laugh at this man.

No because the 30 dollar SNES Classic runs PS1 games better than this thing does.

I'm waiting till it's like $5 so I can just switch the guts with this.

Can't you just buy a Pi?

>work machine plays the games better

How's Bloodborne, Spiderman and God of War?

I dunno. How's Swat 4, Dwarf Fortress, Adventures of Square, the entirety of the PS2 library down and playing games at native 4k 60fps?

It's fucking amazing how PC can't name a single game worth owning that's come out this decade. Oh and PS2 emulation is a mess and you know it.

It's amazing how the PS4 still can't play SWAT 4, and never will. PS2 emulation is fine, and so will PS4 emulation when the time comes.
There's no losing when you play on PC. You will eventually get every single game released on your machine officially or unofficially.

I was thinking about something like this, you could also run games from other consoles. You could probably buy some knock off mini ps1/snes box to put it in, or 3D print one yourself, and buy an all in one controller or two. I hate nintenjew and other companies for pushing this shit where as they should be selling the game on their existing consoles. Too bad they won't stop this because the normies eat it up like the fucking retards they are.

Yup. £30. Got it hacked with 160+ games on it via an externally powered hub and a 128gb flash drive
I have an OTG spare. I'm waiting for autobleem or bleemsync to get that OTG support and then I won't need the external USB 2.0 hub I'm using

If you buy these things, you're a fucking idiot.

which mini is best and are they are hard to find?

Oh wow the PS Classic plays PS4 games?

>What is Hacking?
>What is replacing the main emulator?
>What is Sony not knowing how to properly configure the emulator they decided to use?

the first 3 videos already show how the PSClassic has the potential to be superior to the Raspi3, the only problem is sony trying to make a cashgrab rather that putting thought and effort in the base product.

The hardware is never really a problem, you can get more powerful Chinese ARM SOCs for the cost of or less than the Raspberry Pi. The problem always comes down to software support and extracting the performance from the hardware, which the Raspberry Pi has that the others don't. All the Chinese hardware manufacturers in ARM single board computers are shit tier at doing that, and it has taken the effort of Linux developers on their free time or donations to get any of them working. Rockchip has the best support, followed by Allwinner (used in S/NES Classic) and then Mediatek used here which has the worst support. None of them have open GPU support at all with their Mali GPUs. But yeah, I don't think anyone disputes how little effort Sony put into this especially when they used an open source emulator with no modifications in a commercial product where emulation is the driving factor to purchase it.

pi's are faster either way due to a better processor and has support unlike any other of the soc's like it as points out. plus it doubles as a streaming box you can use remotes with which makes it even more appealing. the only reason to get one of these snes/ps1 boxes is if you're incompetent and can't handle downloading an image and writing it to an sd card.

I'll just use my PS3

the Raspi3 cannot run PSP games that fast, if you saw the videos, every single psp game ran full speed, that should be more than enough proof that AT LEAST on the power category, the PS classic surpass the Raspi.

The BCM2837B0 used in the Pi is weaker than the Mediatek MT8167A mainly due to the GPU being weaker. CPU-wise though, the Pi wins. So yeah, you'll see what is claiming as a result because you're not CPU bound with PSP emulation.

yes it can, it runs the games i've tried on it perfectly fine
>youtu.be/pQBqQyWA9dc

hell even a lot of dreamcast games run at 90% which is pretty impressive. stuff like grandia 2 and skies of arcadia are perfectly playable. you have no idea what you're talking about and i don't know why you'd shill for a shittier product.

To be fair he does have a point with the GPU. If the drivers weren't locked down it probably would perform better at 3D rendering than it currently does.
A slight weaker CPU but a better GPU is a pretty good tradeoff.

>CPU-wise though, the Pi wins
And the CPU is more important for emulation than the GPU

That depends on whether or not the emulator can pass the graphic rendering code exclusively to the GPU to handle or if its CPU-bound code that has to be calculated first then the results pushed to the GPU.

i 'shill' for a 'shittier product', because i see at the bigger picture, specially considering not everyone has easy access to the Pi or other SBCs.
