Honestly, I've always hated every Dpad Sony has put out. Was the Vita Dpad special in some way?
I've always hated that they treat each direction like a separate button, but still have them all on the same disc. If they were actually individual buttons the Dualshock would be godtier for fighting games, but ironically its one of the worst controllers for fighting games even if the Playstation managed to be the tournament standard somehow.

You know, a portable PS4 that can run full PS4 games (at 720p with heavy AA for the battery's sake) would be amazing.

I'd seriously consider one if it was under 400.

I played the entire game on my vita

This, a home console that I could also take on the go, while playing Playstation 4™ console exclusive™ quality titles such as Uncharted 4: A Thief's End™, God of War (2018)™ and the upcoming The Last of Us Part 2™ would be incredible.
I don't think I'm being dishonest when I say it would Change™ the way I think about being a gamer.

Well, Nintendo made the SNES controller and Sony slapped handles on it and added extra shoulder buttons
Nintendo added an analog joystick to the N64 controller so Sony added one to the PS1 controller
Nintendo added rumble to the N64 so Sony added Rumble to the PS2
Nintendo made the Wiimote so Sony made the "not wiimote"
Nintendo made Smash Bros so Sony made Playstation All Stars Battle Royale
Nintendo made the NES and SNES mini so Playstation made the PS1 Classic
Nintendo does most of the innovation and risk taking and Sony just waits for other companies to prove that something is profitable before they bother trying it out. They don't only copy Nintendo, but its been the most blatant.

PS1's JP DualAnalog that launched at the same time as the Rumble Pak also had vibrations, however because of unsure patent situation it didn't make it to international versions until a few months later with DualShock.
