Civ 6 is too old. I got bored of it 2 years ago.

The leaders are there to add a face or personality to the Civilizations, to make them easier to associate with as an entity. It also makes for amusing memetics, and funny situations.

Like the time I was Persia (iran) and I spawned next to America and they were INSTANTLY hostile to me

Civ is not a historic game. It's a board game loosely based on history with absurd and querky elements, one leader was a japanese godess and Gandhi became a nuke loving warmonger because of memes. The leaders are just there to give a more intimate feel.

Same, Age of Wonders has long been one of my favories series. And while 3 borrowed way too much from the Civ series. I did enjoy having an army of holy, crusading paladin orcs.

I think civ 6 is pretty good but it did not and still doesn't have the content of 5. It just got the world congress and it still doesn't have puppeting cities

Civ 6 is better than Civ 5 in my opinion, but I think it still feels way, way too gamey. I'm retarded so I have hope that Civ 7 will decide to not make too many enormous game mechanic changes again and instead focus on using all the best parts of each Civ game.

I feel like they will AGAIN rework faith in the next expansion. No civ was faith based in GS.
I like the apostle combat, I like the wonders, I like the warrior monks and shit, BUT WHY THE FUCK DO YOU GET ONLY ONE SINGLE PROPHET FUCK.

But 6 has so much more stuff than V. And puppeting cities is done well only in vox populi, it's really pointless unmodded.

My problem is actualy the same as civ with that game, cities don't feel like cities. Wish cities could grow like in Endless legend, and also keep the combat from age of wonders

Civ 6 is Civ 5 improved, but it still has the same core. Civ 4 is still better even if I despise a lot of things about it. 6 can be a lot of fun for a less hardcore approach, I find it faster to play.

They said multiple times that this is what they want to avoid. Each civ, good or bad, even the spin offs, tries new things. They remove mechanics, or rework them and add them later, and experiment. Civ4 is peak but it isn't just civ 1 2 3 put together.

They are borrowing from the limited cities idea of Endless Legend for the new age of wonders so it might shape up better. Sadly their race selection is going to be poor. All you have is human and zerg for the sci fi feel then it goes back to sam old fantasy with amazons and dwarves

Civ VI at launch was the worst civ game I've ever played out of VI, V, IV, and rev. But Civ VI with both expansions is actually decent. I never really got Yea Forumss contrarian obsession with Civ IV though. Maybe it's because I played it after V but while I liked the idea of the corporations mechanic it didn't feel interesting to use, also spies in Civ IV are dogshit and hexagonal tiles are superior

The problem is clearly that they want to push rando women who just weren’t good leaders. All those countries had countless leaders. Seondeok didn’t even rule Korea proper, just one of the small proto-Korean kingdoms. There’s hundreds of years of unified Korea rule and they decided to pull a random nobody from 1400 years ago just because she’s a woman.

I wish someone just acknowledge this weirdness and creates a fantasy civ games but with real leaders. Just make it as they all were isekai'd to this brave new world and given a new chance of life. One of the new victory is killling the godlike being that brought them here and return to earth

I think user means there's no organic progression to what they do, its just a straight beeline to the next checkmark for a win condition. Kinda like how in some RTS games the enemy AI will have already set up 20 production lines while you're still exploring the map at the start of a game to even find resources.

What are some good mods for Civ VI? I'm not looking for any gameplay changing mods. Just quality of life changes, maybe some minor graphics or icon changes, ya know. Also is there a mod that let's me zoom out all the way to view the entire map

Haven't checked the mods for gs since I am waiting for them to update, but check civfanatics or the workshop if you own the game. There are plenty of quality of life improvement, map packs, ressource modifiers, new units and shit.
