How the fuck did Zelda: OoT get an "E" from ESRB, with the traumatic area that is Hyrule Market as an adult?
I remember getting horrible nightmares as a child, and I always had to turn off the volume when I reached that part.

The moment I went into the Royal Family's grave, the only place I could get to was killing those Keese's at the wall. When I went into the room and heard those weird fucking zombie noises I got shook as fuck. Walked in, got frozen, humped and killed and never played OoT again for a long ass time. Scariest gaming moment of my life as a kid.
That place scared the shit out of me too OP. I think ome of the greatest thing about that game was how bleak and hopeless everything gets when you turn into an adult in an otherwise unassuming fantasy environment while you're a kid

No E10 rating yet, and Nintendo’s reputation for being kid friendly made giving it T pretty unheard of. So unheard of that when Melee finally did get that T rating the ESRB decided to create the E10.
That part was based on a deleted scene from Empire. The Rebels we’re keeping a bunch locked up in the base, and when the Empire shows up Threepio lets them loose.

Only game that scared me as a kid was Clock Tower.
Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Ocarina of Time as adult or whatever. none of that really scared or gave me nightmares.

Because back in the day the ESRB didn't insult children's intelligences by assuming they were massive pussies.
Whenever I got a game over in DK64 I got scared of K. Rool and hid behind the chair with my hands on my ears until the laughing stopped.
