In my opinion competitive focused games are doomed to fail just look at TF2 today, it hasn't had any update in forever, the development team is literally 3 people one being an office plant, and the game is still going strong because of the community not Valve
Overwatch is fucked if Blizzard ever drops it because the competitive scene is what they've pushed their game towards same for Paladins, TF2 on the other hand will live on because the entire game is centered around its casual play not its small competitive scene

I played for one season. Started in Silver 1579. I grinded up to 1700 then I guess the algorithm decided to fuck me because I got leavers, flanking healers, and people refusing to swap, or people swapping every death. Not to mention getting put against 6 stacks when I am solo queue.

I ended at 1490 this season, so I won't play Overwatch again.

Mostly because it's a game heavily reliant on teamwork and the playerbase is nothing but the absolute most delusional spastics I've ever met. Also because it feels like blizz delegated just a skeleton crew to keep developing the game to show they could milk a new IP successfully. There was new content MAYBE once every 4 months, and if we were super lucky it was a hero and not a map. And in the meanwhile, it was only sporadically balanced by a team of clueless shitters while acting like it was supposed to be a top tier competitive game

It's unreal. They struck this amazing balance between making people feel like they were good and making the rest of the team feel entirely useless. I still maintain that hiding scoreboards and stats is the absolute worst idea and a completely backfired attempt at reducing toxicity.

I used to enjoy playing in quite a lot but then I truly realized mechanically the game has a very low skill ceiling and I got bored and moved on. Paladina is better mechanically but its budget is rougher in polish. I like many of you I don't mind when a game is a little rough around the edges in terms of Polish as long as the game is mechanically fun

Tailored scoreboards is a far better solution in my experience.

But the other problem they have is that there's no way for the game to properly convey the value of a player who switches between roles to fit the situation. Given that's a core dynamic of the game, that's a critical failing.

I played the game since its initial release and I had a fucking blast. I played it with friends, with randos, managed to climb to grandmaster in ranked and had fun talking about it with people. Slowly over time it started to become stale because it was basically repeating the same shit over again and even with new heroes and maps, that gameplay loop doesn't change.
Also, ranked games make the experience worse because it's far more stressful than regular games.
I played up to level 234 and that's when I quit. I couldn't enjoy the game no more, but that doesn't mean my time was wasted, because throughout the whole experience, I enjoyed myself.

Saying that the game is shit without any context exposes ignorant, low IQ individuals.

Brig still keeps Tracers and Genjis in check even if she can't outright gib them now. If your team even has a semblance of team play, getting the stun+M1 on them is usually a death sentence with one other team member throwing in a few shots.
