I ignore Twittcher numbers because they are so easily swayed by four streamers happening to join a game and has no bearing on whether people are actually playing it.

I've played a game which at the time had a playerbase of 400 (Blackwake) but simeltaneously had 1,000,000 Twitch viewers because AngryJoe was playing it.

TF2 is in the top 10 of Steam, has tens of thousands of concurrent players but probably has 23 Twitch viewers right now.

Anyone who uses Twitch as a metric is not very bright.

But they still are watching that game and might consider to play it too, if looks fun or their entertainer play it.
It really works that a big streamer increases the sales and playercount.
But i agree that this also have the negative effect that not 100% of his audience is interested in the game.
Thats why you take it as indicator not as absolute numbers. And you look who streams!

I'm not really disagreeing with that either, the only real value looking at the metrics has from a consumer perspective is whether a sequel will be made, otherwise it just gets used for dick measuring contests between shitposters pretending to like popular games

I will never understand how someone can have fun by watching other people playing. I mean it is ok if it is a small compilation of funny scenes or something...
But sitting there for hours watching other people having fun is just retarded . No wonder that the industry don't focus anymore on gameplay. This is like missing the whole fucking point of video games and why the got popular in past. People used to pay fucking money to play in arcade machine few more minutes where they have the freedom in interacting with the game and showing their own skills/score when they could just sit there and watch other play for free.
