You just take simple tests and/or go see a doctor. Usually the problem's already recognized during childhood, if the kid appears to use weird colors when filling coloring books, etc.

One of the simplest and quickest tests are these shapes-in-spots images, that for a person with normal vision are plainly obvious, but that appear completely blank and same colored to folks with anomalous eye sight.
There's versions for all the color blindness variants.

Yes you can. You being serious right now?

You can.

>I have deuteranopia but I feel like this chart is exaggerated...?
Nope. In fact, for a normie-sighted fag like me, the 2 and 3 look identical, and with a very hastly glance they all could all be mistaken to be just full color palettes.

Stop fucking with me, panel 1 and 2 are the same.

Why isn't everyone getting robot eye surgery if this is possible

Bottom looks better. Top is gaudy and childish.

You now realize that you actually can't describe colours at all without using colours, so you just assume that everybody else sees blue or red the same way you do. you cannot prove you have normal vision. There is research that shows some women may actually be tetrachromats. Instead of having 3 cones in their eyes, they have 4, meaning they get almost an order of magnitude more color differential.

And they say males are privileged.

I wonder how much more they actually see. I would imagine that the brain still has to be able to interpret the different signals properly if they are to use the extra information available.

>I would imagine that the brain still has to be able to interpret the different signals properly if they are to use the extra information available.
It does. As a result, women end up seeing problems where none exist.

> normie-sighted fag

Or maybe your color vision isn't as good as you think it is. While they look similiar on first glance, they are different.

If you score 0 points here, then you have optimal color vision:

colormunki.com/game/huetest_kiosk

Each come sees value from 0 to 100. Normal vision is roughly 1000000 colors from 3 cones. This is actually why color blind people see Less too. In my case with Deuto my red and green cone are connected meaning I only see 10000 different colors. For women with the 4th cone which last I looked only saw like 20 different values they see literally 20000000 different colors. An example that's known is the green-red color. It looks green to most people but to the tetrachromats it's a weird hybrid color, both red and green at the same time.

A Good Snowman Is Hard To Build

Wait what's the difference between protanopia and deuteranopia

I got 14 because I'm a lazy fuck who felt overwhelmed by the effort and sped through it.
I can see each color and the differences in the color wheels posted earlier though.

Deuter's darker colors are slightly lighter compared to prota, and what would normally be magenta (i think) is a dark, grayish-blue for prota, but a pure grey for deuter

Also it was the mid greens and blue/violet that I missed on.

I think you should test for ADHD next

I wish I could give myself Tritanopia for a day. It looks amazing.

It being all the same shit at first glance was too much and disheartened me because I knew I had to actually put in effort to place them. It's pure laziness, nothing more. I was willing to do it quickly and get some wrong if it meant less effort in the end.
Have a cool image though. No it's not a screamer, I'm not a dick like that.

Actually though I'd like to know why that happens, is it due to the colors from before? I really should just look it up.

It's how your brain works. You "get used" to a sensory input by your brain feeding the opposite value to counter act it. Then when the input is taken away it takes a few seconds for your brain to turn off the counter value. Very easy to have happen with noise.

>Very easy to have happen with noise.
Ah, so like the bit of time after having a loud cicada in the general area, but for the eyes. That's pretty interesting shit.

no, to see color certain reserves in your eyes get drained. color is of a certain light wave length. Your eyes have molecules in them that correspond to the light wave length. As you see intense blue or red, the molecules react to that are are drained (technically they flip in confromation). it takes time for your eye to recover those colors, so if you are exposed to intense blue, you cannot see blue for a while. Those pictures make use of this.

I wish i could live with some form of color blindness for a day or two. It would be cool to see the world through an instagram filter.

Eversion

Well that is still pretty interesting.

>and with a very hastly glance they all could all be mistaken to be just full color palettes.
No, even though the thumbnail clearly depicts the form of several colour palettes, it is immediately obvious that two of them lack any colour but yellow and blue, the lack of red stands out.

4, all bars perfect other than the skincoloured one.

Tritanopia actually looks fucking baller. Is there like some kind of glasses you can wear to simulate that?

That technique can also be used to "see" extra-spectral colors, such as octarine.
Look at intense green and look away in a dark room.

Videogames

Sudeki

So is it actually possible for a color to exist that doesn't exist on the electromagnetic spectrum?

Just trying to think about it racks your brain because its trying to comprehend something incomprehensible since we can only see and comprehend the colors of the electromagnetic spectrum, and I'm not talking about UV and infrared and gamma rays either but visible light color that just doesn't exist in our universe.

Is it possible? Say for example in some other universe with different physical laws, maybe?

Fuck the idea of trying to think up some new nonexistant color is the biggest brainfuck the longer you try, because its literally impossible but you can't let go of the possibility of it being possible somehow, and at the same time can't comprehend what that would even look like because all our experience of color is dependent on the electromagnetic spectrum and there exists a possibility that even if there are multiverses they would have the same electromagnetic spectrum and the same colors as ours, and no true new color can ever exist outside of that which is a bit sad.

Attached: uh6iljvwxqc21.jpg (614x767, 234K)

>25
I want to go to bed so I'm okay with this

"Colors" are defined by visible wavelength. If the spectrum your eyes can see was wider, there would be more colors. So yes, it's absolutely possible for more "colors" to exist.
I once had a dream in which that happened. Obviously I can't actually describe how it looked.

>Parents tell me I'm colorblind since I see colors differently from them
>mom especially lords it over me since she fancies herself an interior decorator
>after getting our eyes tested around my middle school days I turn out to be the only one in the house NOT colorblind

Attached: 1546234102054.gif (300x302, 370K)

it depends on how you define color. What we call color is just a couple of wavelengths on the electromagnetic scale.
The problem with color (and other experiences like it) is that you cannot describe it. Hell, if we both look at something that is red, you might preceive something entirely different than what I see. You might see what I call blue. But since we both look at the same thing, and we both agree to call it "red", it is red.

Wouldn't those colors just be UV, gamma, infrared, derivatives of the visible wavelength colors? Like in the end the base colors which we see would still be visible, I'm talking about a totally new color we couldn't even "see" because our eyes don't have the right receptors for them even

Yeah I know I remember having and obsessing over that thought years ago (is my green the same as everyone elses green) on my walks to school but eventually I found the idea of the possibility of colors existing outside our known electromagnetic spectrum far more interesting to try and comprehend.

The fact that the brain can even try to comprehend something incomprehensible to its limited experience like a whole different color is pretty remarkable too, of course no matter how hard you try you literally cannot concieve of any "new" color outside of the ones we know

>One player is randomly granted meat vision.

>woman that is colorblind
jesus what a failure

I think there are glasses that already do that, no need to put a needle in your eye

well technically our perception is limited by whatever our brain can process. So maybe you can experience "seeing" something by stimulating your brain in a certain way that cannot be achieved in any other way by using your eyes. So that could be another color entirely.

>meat vision

Attached: 264.jpg (800x600, 135K)

Attached: men-vs-women-color-chart.jpg (571x600, 28K)

>cannot be achieved by using your eyes

This makes me think of people who report exceptionally vivid colors and everything in lucid dreams, since you are not seeing with your eyes there but with your brain, maybe in lucid dreams it can be possible to try to experience a new color, I'll have to try.

No pair of glasses is gonna fix the receptors user.
I know a guy that I think has it and he wears glasses with yellow lenses though, so I assume you can at least make the contrast clearer with it.

How do these color vision shit even work? If you have undiagnosed color blindness wouldnt looking at these images and seeing differences just be also normal? Like youd think youre lucky because you see red as a more vibrant brown than other people when youre actually the guy who has the impairment the picture is trying to highlight?

i am red-green blind but i don't have this weird less colour vision. i don't get this picture

Jaundice?
I would never want to see colours through some other type. I'm fully red green color blind though. I feel like it would be like finding out your Elvis with amnesia. Everything you know is suddenly not right.

user...

ugh this takes too much effort. I am really good at seeing different shades tho. It's annoying when a game has color customisation, and if it's a slider instead of being set colors or coordinates you can type, I'll get really frustrated trying to always find the exact same spot.

Attached: 1536464365363.jpg (333x279, 16K)

of course I wouldn't want it in real life, I have perfect vision in every way. But the color combination was the most aesthetically pleasing, something I would use somewhere

Then you didn't "fail" either in FF6 considering the world is happy and green after Kefka dies.

This is actually pretty cool. Why and how does this work?

not really, you have to travel within worlds the whole game.

What's that one disorder where you can't perceive faces? I always found that concept terrifying, like you look at people and have to identify them by body or voice or mannerisms because their faces are a blurry incomprehensible mess.

I did it anyways and delivered perfectly just like I claimed.

Prosopagnosia

Autism? I mean unironically, what else could it be?

Prosopagnosia. It's not actually an eyesight problem with "blur" or anything, it's a brain defect that prevents you from associating specific facial features with people.

....oh fuck, I had that when I was born, well atleast my other eyes fine.

From what I understand, with prosopagnosia they aren't a "blurry incomprehensible mess", they see faces just fine. They just can't, given two faces, tell whether they are same or different.

Oh good, that's far less terrifying.

Unironically this thread turned out to be amusing and also very interesting, I don't even care if it's vidya related or not, keep posting

Based non brainlet

Our eyes adapt to colors we see over time and mute them a bit causing us to see negative after images.

Is it okay if I take several rests each time I do a meter, I swear it becomes more and more difficult unless I loo at other stuff for some time, or is that cheating?

You now realize that off-topic threads are the only places that don't get filled with cancer because they fly under the radar of all the insane faggots that come here only to shitpost.
