>implying it was ever hard
Not really.
*outlevels you"
too easy
Fuck rollout
But it is
To my small child mind, this was the hardest thing in All of GSC, easily.
Maybe you should stop being so bad
Get a ghost or fighting type
>sand attacks u
Pssh.
>Was so infernally buttmad I transferred my Platinum Monkey to my SS to punch this bitch in the face
It's a cheap fight and you know it
They only ghost type you can get is a ghastly from bellsprout tower and you have to get lucky to find one by accident otherwise you'd never know you can get one there. Gen 1/2 are filled with bullshit like that.
Was this a coincidence or intentionally hard? In the new games it seems like they just use random pokémon for the leaders. You are not supposed to use a strategy.
It's the last mission of the game, but still.
He's supposed to be one of the weakest in the organization so it's really funny.
Learnt the hard way rollout is rock
rollout will wreck gastly / haunter's shit if it stacks to more than 2, fighting is probably the only option but stomp still puts a fat dent on you
But not Xaldin? That asshole is why I haven't replayed 2 in literal years.
this motherfucker made me reset the whole fucking game when i was a kid
mickey will always save your ass while fighting xaldin unless if you decide to bitch out the fight
So ghastly isn't readily available to most people playing (especially in the GSC version, since the internet wasn't really a thing), and in HG/SS, it has scrappy anyways.
And, if i remember right, the only fighting type at that point in the game was an in-game trade for a machop, and in order to have that work perfectly, you still needed to SR for a female one, and Machop has a low female %.
Gendered pokemon were new, so attract could catch people, especially children, off guard.
And its moves are: recovery, attract(hax), stomp(hax), and rollout.
Obviously it's not like broken or anything, especially with a female pokemon, but it's still a casual filter because you can't just get away with mashing A until you win like you can up until this point, there needs to be at least one other axis of understanding the game. And stomp is a legitimately annoying move.
He's the lance guy, right? Triangle fucks his shit up harder than anyone in the game.
When I was a wee babe, I had way more trouble with Demyx, but Still had a good bit of trouble with Xaldin. The reaction commands Xaldin has made pretty short work of him.
>Mr Young uses Brawl
That's why it's a based fight. One of the few instances in pokemon single player history where you actually have to think, plan, prepare. Misty in gen 1 was also a challenge depending on what starter you had. I wish pokemon games had difficulty levels.
>you still needed to SR for a female one
I'm pretty sure it's always female.
I never got this meme because as a kid i by that time i had a ghastly or Haunter that knew curse. The fight was over in seconds and all i ever saw were other people complaining about it.
I always had a togepi by that point and just had fun spamming metronome against the clefairy. And the miltank was a piece of cake with sand attack and some luck.
its not a casual filter because by the time gold/silver came out everyone knew there was nothing grinding till your mons were over leveled couldn't fix. Id bet my bottom dollar that no one simply quit playing because they couldn't beat Whitney.
Thw ghost pokemon will rek miltank with curse
it is, Trade pokemon are always the same.
I think you can blind the Milktank--pretty sure I beat it that way and mind you, I was just a retarded little kid
rip me, i should've looked it up before posting
It is.
Gen 1 misty wasn't that bad, Even if you picked charmander Grass pokemon (Oddish/bellsprout) were really common right above her gym.
nobody wants to train a bellsprout especially from the limited exp resources you'd have at that point
...considering i beat that ho at age 9, im gonna say not exactly a casual filter.
>misty
>hard
are you that one retard in class that didnt caught a dugtrio because everyone else do it
You still have to "learn" the command from him and dodge his lasers
it is when your 10
catching a dugtrio is soulless
train your own
Even my baby brain knew to just go level up...
How is this seen as hard
it has vinewhip at level 1, it will 1 shot Starme by level like 13. and that's only if your as asshole who bought blue. if you're a normal person, you got oddish who starts with absorb and doesn't even need to be trained to take her.
[Source] 8 year old me because after my level 34 charmeleon couldn't beat her I gave up on a Charizard only run by catching an oddish.
He's sill pretty damn easy, especially if you find out that you can reaction command him multiple times in a row.
I don't know if Dead Money is the biggest casual filter but i've never seen people get so absolutely destroyed by a game before, even those who considered themselves experts died a lot here
bullshit
How the fuck has anyone ever lost in Pokemon, the only way you can lose a fight is if you are massively underleveled which never fucking happens, even if you go strictly town to town
It's one of the reasons why i don't get how Pokemon is still a popular videogame, it offers absolutely no challenge and the only way it gets interesting is if you go out of your way to make the game more difficulty artificially
Rival fight 2 is pretty hard.
Most people play it when they're kids, autismo
Oddish on route 5 are level 15 or 16. bellsrpout are the same, Starmie is 21, You 2 shot it. The Staryu gets one shot.
>Can get stats effects early in game
>There is a whole area of strong physical defense Pokemon beforehand
Why is this hard?
DM is piss easy, bear trap fist is a guaranteed kill in 1-2 hits with its high limb damage, and holograms are slow enough to react that you can hide even after being detected. The only bullshit thing is the constant health drain in HC mode. It basically encourages you to walk around at 1 HP and then eat all your food as soon as you get ticks on your compass.
only if you're cheesing the game.
>hating whitney's miltank
>not hating the clefairy before it that knows metronome
this is how i know you've never speedrun pokemon before
because it is
How do you even lose as a kid, you can literally spam the same move with the same pokemon 95% of your playthrough and win, you only ever need to change moves when you are facing your Pokemon's direct weakness
Even as a kid you spam the one move and win everytime
It's baby's first RPG and it's fucking embarrasing to see grown men playing it, let alone struggling with it
HGSS Bugsy and his u-turn spammin scyther. I still struggle with this battle when replaying the games.
That might be because I always choose Chikorita though.
This miltank is not a pokemon you can press A to win against most of the time.
this fight made me a man
>randomize HG
>Scyther is replaced with a Snorlax with Belly Drum, rest and Slam
Oh fuck that sounds like an absolute nightmare.
It wasn't a nuzlocke run was it?
Really? We're just going to overlook this, seriously? Well alright then.
It was. I got out with just my Shinx, igglybuff and Aron. Then Gold came with a Dragonair who had Dragon Rage.
Man, that game really didn't want you to play.
Most children didn't use Thunderwave.
I wish pokemon games were actually hard instead of braindead.
Not him but it actually is.
Do a hard mode Nuzlocke or just stop grinding.
When I was up to Whitney I usually had a starter at around lv 18, and 2 or 3 others at round 12-15
I always dreaded that miltank, it sounds like YOU played the game for the first time as a grown man and can't understand how kids might find it hard.
The simple thing to do would be have a challenge mode like Black and White 2, and not have a dumb fuck unlock method like it did in BW2
I wish modern Pokemon games did stuff like this. These days I usually beat even the Elite Four on my first try with minimal effort and underleveled Pokemon. Yet for some reason they seem to want to make it even more easy with each game. I'll never understand it. Kids aren't as dumb as Nintendo think, you don't need to handhold them constantly.
That's why it's a casual filter, user. Only casuals found it difficult.
And not have it be easier like b/w2 because it floods you with exp to keep you overlevelled
Sure they don't dude, sure they don't.
>play as a kid
>have no idea what the moves do
>pick one
>says it's very effective
>spam that one all the time since it deals a lot of damage even if it doesn't say it's very effective
>get a message saying "it's not very effective"
>switch to another move
>"it's very effective"
>spam that instead
>rinse and repeat through the entire game
I did Sun with a no exp run with minimal grinding and yhat was tough. Beat kukui like 15 levels below him in the end, boy was Alolan Muk a lifesaver
Nigga when I was little I didn't carr about all that all I did after losing to that fucking cow was train my first pokemon in the grass until it reached level 32 and overkill it
Yep, getting more EXP from higher levelled opponents kind of breaks the game.
back in gen 2 curse only damaged if your Pokemon survived the attack. They weren't going to survive the attack.
GUYS LOOK HOW COOL I AM
this story is literally not the case with this particular pokemon because of the typing and what is available to you in the game at the time.
You are a lying faggot, or you overleveled your pokemon and made the game boring for yourself, congratulations.
pussy shit, user. pussy shit.
>tfw IT EMITS THE HEAT THE OF A SUN
what game is this, user? he looks neat.
I literally won using curse and then finishing off with a single attack from my next pokemon. You are full of shit.
He teaches you to never save in one file, ever
Alright bucko. We all believe you. Let's not get to name calling now. No one even knows who you are on this anonymous video game board.
Or i just had more than 2 pokemons and didn't play like a fucking retard you have to be massively underleveled, have low amount of pokemons and no items to ever lose to that Miltank
christ pokefags are the dumbest shits on the planet, i can't believe people struggle with Pokemon games at all
>we all believe you
This isn't a thing that needs specualtion user. We are talking about using curse against miltank here, holy shit.
>dow2 in filename
what the fuck is dow, user? I saw the filename, I don't know every acronym in the god damn world.
Why can't you just answer the question?
Have you tried google?
Yes, and giving it over turn of rollout for free. It does not take damage from curse after it takes a steaming hot shit on your haunter. After that it's taking maybe one turn off curse damage before it steamrolls the rest of your team with it's ridiculously buffed rollout. The only way your beating miltank with curse if you you tried that in hg/ss or if you get a lucky miss. Either way, there's no shame is bragging about rng giving you a win or doing it in the watered down vision of the game. Just specify that you did so you don't look like a lying asshole on a site where reputation doesn't matter.
>not just giving it a status effect with bayleef
thank god for my younger self being a contrarian retard and picking the grass starter
Damage sponge pokemon + rollout is a deadly combination, especially if it's your first time playing pokemon.
This, just look at this comparison of old game third boss+1 ally vs new game third boss+1 ally.
>It does not take damage from curse after it takes a steaming hot shit on your haunter
Yes it fucking does retard. I LITERALLY beat it with curse. The fucker lost like 1/4 of its health for EVERY turn, and when my Haunter eventually fell i used ONE attack with my Cyndaquil to finish it off.
Literally nothing in x/y is a challenge
I played KH2 for the first time recently and I don't remember this guy being hard.
Biggest difficulty spike was Roxas, but it was near the end of the game.
That's not how gen 2 works kiddo. I'm sorry you're so upset no one believes your story.
>It does not take damage from curse after it takes a steaming hot shit on your haunter.
But that can't happen. Miltank's Rollout doesn't oneshot nor Gastly, nor Haunter.
So that's still harder than GSC.
It does when curse drops you to half health asshat.
You're a fucking retard m8. Play the games. It takes of a HUGE chunk of damage until the haunter is dead. I lost the haunter but my replacement pokemon one shot it adfer curse did its job.
>oh no my pokemon is dying, i'll heal it
>use item
>free rollout turn
>Miltank outspeeds everything you can have at this point in the game
>roll out again
>"uh... i guess i need to give it an item?
>rollout sweeps your team.
Wow user, you sure showed me.
I still remember the way you had to walk from the save station. That being said, when you can't strafe because you're a retard then Alpha Splinter is the hardest boss in the game.
I do, regularly when I'm bored.
Miltank is faster than Gastly so it will always attack first. And Rollout doesn't do enough damage to prevent Curse's use. You do know how Curse works right?
Even fucking Wikihow explicitely tells you to use Gastly against her. Not to mention it immediately has Hypnosis too.
>Casual filters
Only if you picked the fire starter.
That fight is a piece of cake with Croconaw.
The point he's making is that in gen 1 and 2 pokemon didn't take damage from status ailments (poison, cures, burn, leech seed etc) if they knocked a pokemon out that turn.
Not even, Quilava can survive 2 Rollouts and use Smokescreen.
>not getting a Nidorino and Double kick her shit out
>not getting a Graveler and tank everything like it was nothing
>not spamming Sand attack / Smokescreen
>not having a Flaafy and paralyze everything
>not being overleveled enough
there were so many ways to win that fight easily that you don't even need a ghost or fighting type, this fight was hard only if all your pokemon were weak to rollout and underleveled
Ok and? I ustised (see scaraficed my ghost) with curse and it cut Miltank down to nothing. Fuck that guy telling me what did or didn't happen because he struggled and i didn't.
Honestly just depends on how lucky you are.
>tfw I always choose cyndaquil
nothin personel bugboy
Never really got mad fighting this guy since everything is avoidable with some trial and error.
>didnt learn to abuse roll i frames first playthough and just used a sheild
It didn't happen dude. Just give it up. Literally everyone is telling you it's made up.
Come on, user.
You're missing the point.
let other people have their slap fights about how they killed miltank.
the fight isn't actually that hard, it was just hard at the time for children and people who didn't get some of the new bits of this generation. You just had to know something about the way pokemon works to beat it. unless you overleveled, but then you're robbing yourself of the chance to learn how the game works, which might be your thing, but that's no fun.
also
>the only obtainable the route after her city, which you can go to, but probably not initially, and she'll attract you and milk drink to kill you
>this only works in crystal version, dudes don't appear in the wild in routes before goldenrod
>you're still probably attracted, so you and her trade rng blows, and she still has milk drink
>this works, attract is stronger hax though.
This fight still uses mechanics not in the first gen, with a pokemon with high health and defense, and only one weakness. this spells a bad time for kids who don't get the game yet, and they are either stonewalled until they grind, making the rest of the game less interesting, or they wise up.
>one autist
>everyone
ok retard. Sorry this was your gauntlet run as a kid or whatever. I wont see your replies so dont bother. Try not being shit next time i guess
i remember leveling up my feraligator to level 38 and having a few other mons around level 20-25 and still getting my shit pushed in. it only happened once though. on my 1st playthrough milktank was easy as fuck and all the other playthroughs i ever did too. just once did this match ever become an actual challenge for some reason.
>oof
I had a curious amount of trouble clearing that section. Kept stomping me
Reading comprehension much?
rollout isn't in the damage calculator, but wouldn't the battle go:
>rollout
>curse
>take curse damage
>rollout
>ko, skip curse damage
>rollout
>ko, curse damage
>rollout
>ko, curse damage
>rollout
>ko, die to curse damage.
Which works if you killed clefairy and still had a full team.
>FA
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH
>pretends to leave the thread
>comes right back
2nd Rollout will never kill anything but a Pidgey. And it can and will miss often. So no.
Everyone is around him.

Hope you got the hang of the fuel system, faggot, because otherwise you're gonna get stuck here for a while
looking for baal?
it doesn’t even make sense. Why would a giant bug cause freeze
miltank is actually a shit taste filter to see which limp dick gays didn't catch geochad
I remember having to cheese a bit in some of the more recent AC games.
DLC bosses made me quit the game for good. Maria and the insect man boss are just rage inducing to fight.
Retard
This fucking white hedgehog is an ultimate casual filter.
>silver
>not the very first forced running segment.
IT'S NO USE
Protip, you can camp in the small weapon caches once you clear the main room. The enemy so can sometimes just glitch out and they won't advance on you as aggressively as earlier.
I got lucky when I played Soulsilver because all it did was use Milk Drink until it ran out of PP and then I killed it before it could do anything
Also got lucky with Falkner because his Pidgeotto never used roost
rimtech campaign, mission 5 especially
*Dragon Dances and sweeps in ur path
>wow this rts game is really easy I hope the devs do something to improve the ai and overall challenge of the combat
>don't worry about it dude! Just play it one handed, and only using unupgraded units and if your base gets attacked once you quit the match!
Players shouldn't have to impose restrictions in themselves to make a game challenging.
Fucking knife eared campers in dow1
Sure, but it's never going to happen so you might as well do it yourself if you really want to be challenged.
Dusk of peace
ive been stuck here for a bit. I just recently learned about the cloak that makes him fuck off with his holy(?) attacks
When i was 10 (actually younger than that) i steam rolled through the entire game using 2 pokemons at most.
Dawn of War 2 you fantastically retarded chimp.
There are people that actually got stuck here.
just lure him to the guards
>Khaine actually has a bloody hand in DoW2
How did I never notice this
Same it got annoying when the cow fuck heals every two turns.
Ahhh. Another thread of user jerking himself off over beating a casual filter boss which was nothing more than a mechanics test. At least this thread seems to lack the typical Yea Forums casual filter practice of posting endgame content that a casual would never get to in the first place.
how
iirc it even tells you to take a look at the claw and if you take a second to fucking read what's shown onscreen, you manage to get behind this shit pretty easily. retard
that's why it's a casual filter
Hard with controller.
Easy with Keyboard + mouse.
U sound like a fag
IZA JINJOU NI SHOUBU
Kid Icarus Uprising's controls
obligated
I tried doing that once and he slaughtered all of them and then came for me.
more like brainlet filter
I know you' re fishing for answers, BUT
if you play it without looking it up first or knowing about it: Yeah, it is hard.
*DING*
The ultimate.
If you overwrote your saves and couldnt beat him you were fucked.
Nah, that one in the stairs with fuck huge fall is far more worse.
I'm pretty sure this is the same one, just farther up those stairs. Google wasn't being very helpful and that was the best picture I could find.
>there isn't an early pokemon that you can get that resists Stomp AND Rollout AND has a great physical bulk
>geodude does not exist
I want illiteratefags to get off my board.
Not if you caught a fucking Geodude, brainlet.
>Double(DOUBLE,DOS)slap hits FIVE TIMES
nani???
No, it's not, that's the one directly before Yellow Monk
The one is referring to is just before Maneaters. Right after you drop the heart it turns the central pillar into a giant open-air spiral staircase with red phantom flayers on there that can shoot you freely and risk knocking you to your death
The ones before the yellow monk are easy because you can use the curving wall to cheese them and limit their range
dudemind
>Whitney
>Hard
Name all the types that are weak to Normal. I'll wait.
>casual filter
More like absolute bullshit that shows everything wrong with that trash game in that single level
>everything slower than fucking Onix
kek
Yes, I know that Onix is weak to Lana. I'm just saying her team is so slow it's easy to force Wishiwashi into it's small form, in which case it's weak as fuck.
red dragon in Crypt of the Necrodancer
>that one in the stairs with fuck huge fall is far more worse.
that one I always found harmless. You can see from afar when he turns around to patrol back, that's when you run up to him and slap his shit before he can face you. Worked for me every time.
>get to this fight the first time with flaaffy
>hit Twave
>laugh
>playing soulsilver
>"Clefairy used Roar of Time!"
>"Clefairy used Sacred Fire!"
>"Clefairy used literally every good move in the game via Metronome"
You can plan for Miltank. You can't plan for whatever comes from Metronome.
You call that a casual filter? That's cute.
>Roar of Time
>any Hyper Beam variation
>good
You need to go back.
>tfw just tried every random combo until I got it
>Bitch at KH fan IRL for not warning me about Roxas fight
>Find out they played the vanilla version and there it was a cutscene fight.
Using Curse is an uncurable status. Miltank can spam Milk Drink but that only does so much. Hell, Curse completely shatters all of gen 7's totem fights, as you flat out cannot lose once you land it. Something that'll die in 4 turns can't kill 6 pokemon.
Reminder that the strongest move you see at that point in the game is something like 60BP, which pales in comparison to the 150BP. Beam clones suck in general, but something with that power early on is either killing off one of your pokemon or putting it into red health
Adding onto this, the same can be said about Dragon Rage. Shitty move, but it's a major threat when your HP is so low you'll get 2shot at best.
How the fuck do you even die to this just press Shift my guy
I can dodge it on hard because the pattern is different, but I keep dying on normal like a retard
>right after the first palace
>it's a maze
>main enemy isn't the easiest thing to deal with
>possible to miss the healing magic
>the hardest part of the game this side of the Great Palace and it's like an hour in
Name a bigger filter than this. You can't.
Gen 1 sucks. i hold it high in nostalgic memory but i don't like it like i used to. so many S or A+ level pokemon are kept in the safari zone. and the safari zone is a fucking snoozefest
casul
bmp
this motherfucker right here
I'd say motion blur is a casual image filter.
milktank is easy
That's why it's a casual filter. It's only hard for people who don't understand how the game works beyond the most basic level.
>that pure white element field
F
Because people who have trouble with pokemon are the types who dodge every trainer battle they can and run from every encounter on top of just mindlessly spamming their best attack whenever they're forced to battle. This makes them end up really underleveled for a while which is why all the casual filter bosses are early on in the game.
The only other way pokemon presents a challenge is if you intentionally restrict yourself to add challenge.
>TFW this shit got my hopes up that Skyrim was actually going to be an interesting game with puzzles
This or the Treasure Hunting Stages in SA2
I remember that fucking battle. Lost a lot of Pokemon there in Nuzlockes/Wedlockes
I was one of them. I had no idea the game had a run button before I got to that point and then felt really dumb when I finally figured it out.
only right answer in this bitch
